Noël's POV

I had just graduated from high school thank god! My parents had just dropped me off at NYU!! Don't even know how I got in there!! I've talked to my roommate over the summer Sophia she seems pretty cool we're not going for the same major so that kind of is a blow but it's whatever. But she came early and there's a lot of cute guys up there and I promised myself I wouldn't rush myself into anything because I just got out of something because we were departing different ways.
My major is journalism and my minor is photography and I would love to be in either New York Times or National Geographics. But it we'll see how freshman year goes. I'm soo excited for freshman week it's supposed to be amazing!! I'm thinking all of this in my head. Of what I'm going to say to people that I'm going to meet I'm not the best at talking to people. I get in the elevator and punch in the number for my floor 7. This it I'm really doing this. No more dad and mom. Holy shit. I got up to my floor and saw my room and opened the door I already unpacked awhile ago but it really just kicked in. Sophia came in.
"Hey what's up" She said all happy jumping on her bed laying down.
"It's starting to kick in that I don't have my parents anymore. That I'm free" I said kind of happy but sad at the same time.
"Yeah it's kind of nice in a way but it's kind of not cuz they can't give you money and make sure you're not doing something you'll regret" she said something I was thinking.
I knew I would like Sophia right then.
