Chapter 87

I woke to the sound of my alarm going off beside the bed. I turned slightly and hit the off button. I smiled as I looked over at Enola who was still fast asleep on my arm. She had the blankets pulled up around her bare breasts and her hair was a mess from making love for most of the night. I gently pushed her hair off her face and kissed her lips lightly. I stroked her cheek with my thumb, silently apologizing for the fight we'd had the night before once again. I didn't realize how guilty she'd been feeling; I hated it. She did what she thought was right as a mother and she couldn't just think about what she wanted. I felt terrible for letting my anger get the better of me when Gemma told me about her visit. I shouldn't have acted the way I did.
I carefully pulled my arm from under Enola. She whimpered then turned onto her opposite side. I kissed the back of her head gently before I slid out of bed, trying my hardest not to wake her. I wanted her to stay in bed until she absolutely had to get up. I had things that I needed to do before the party we were throwing tonight. I went into the bathroom to shower and plan what I was going to do for the day to make Enola's life easier, starting with some of the prep for our party.

Before I left to run the errands that I really had to get done, I went into the kitchen to see all of the cards Enola had put recipes on laying all over the counter top. I smiled as I picked each one up and read it carefully. I looked over at the clock and decide that I had enough time. I grabbed one of the easier cards and went to gather the things needed to make it. I smiled as I thought of how happy Enola would be that I tried to cut down her work load on a party that she didn't even really want to host. I knew the only reason that she agreed to it was because I had told her that I wanted to do it.

Enola ran into the hall to greet me as I walked in. I was sure that her waking up alone with a note that said: I'll be back soon, baby. was not what she wanted for the morning. But when she saw me she stopped dead in her tracks.
"HARRY! WHAT DID YOU DO?" She shrieked, tears looked like they were about to spill from her eyes. Just as everyone else ran into the hall, Enola walked toward me. My mother and the boys started laughing. "HARRY STYLES!" Enola wailed as she touched the shaved sides of my head. "What did you do, baby?" She asked again.
"I got a haircut." I replied trying not to laugh myself. Enola pouted and ran her hand through the part of my hair that was still kind of long. "Do you hate it?" I asked quietly. Enola bit her lip and shook her head. "Yes. You do." I chuckled. "It's fine. It'll grow back, baby. I'll just grow it back out." I promised her. Enola whimpered as she touched the sides of my head again.
"When did my daughter become a hippie, liking boys with the long hair?" Lochlan asked with a laugh.
"When she met me." I replied with a chuckle. Enola was still whimpering and touching my hair as Darcy ran into the room.
"Dad." Darcy stated loudly.
"What?" I was confused by her not calling me "Daddy" like she always did.
"I don't like your hair." She stated before heading into the kitchen. Enola and I started to laugh hysterically at our daughter. We followed the tenacious toddler into the kitchen so we could get started on the food for the party.

Enola looked over at me out of the corner of her eye. I could tell that she was startled each time that she looked at me. I sighed and shook my head. I knew that she loved my hair but I didn't think cutting it off was that big of a deal.
"You know, I've cut all of my hair off before, right, baby?" I asked Enola as I brushed past her, seeing her startled expression again.
"Yeah, I know, Bear." She grumbled.
I pinned her against the counter with a smirk, "Why are you so upset then?"
"I'm not used to it yet. You cut it all off without even warning me." She puffed quietly. I chuckled and kissed her sweetly. "And I wasn't even with you when you did it the first time." She mumbled, the sad look returning to her eyes. I grabbed her by her neck gently, startling her just a little.
I pressed my forehead to hers and gazed into her eyes lovingly, "I'm sorry, Noli. I didn't mean to get so out of control." She just nodded and wound her arms around my neck. I put my arms around her waist and buried my face into her neck. I kissed her skin lightly and inhaled the scent of her. "I love you." I whispered to her.
"I love you." She replied quietly. I released her when my mother walked into the room. I kissed Enola's forehead lightly.
"Everything okay in here?" My mother asked with a concerned expression. Enola and I both nodded and grinned at her. "Are you sure?" My mum seemed a bit suspicious.
"Yeah. We just haven't had too many moments alone since I got home is all. Just lovin' on my baby mama." I chuckled.
"Oh Harry, that's so rude." My mother grunted at me.
Enola giggled, "That's what I am, Anne."
"No, you're not. The mother of his child, yes. I'm pretty sure he's called you the love of his life too many times to count. Baby mama is disrespectful." My mum informed us. She smirked at me, "Marry her and it'll be easier because you'll just be able to say wife."
"Mum!" I groaned, hating how forward she was. "Get out of my kitchen!" I laughed, pointing to the other room. My mum chuckled and walked out. I turned to Enola with saddened eyes, "I'm sorry for that."
Enola touched my cheek soothingly, "It's okay. She just wants you to be happy is all."
I rested my forehead on hers, "I am happy." She grinned and kissed me softly.

Enola stood in front of me as I sat at the table with Freddie, Louis and Liam. She looked over at me and made a small sighing sound again. I grabbed her hand and made her turn to me.
"Do you really hate it that much, baby?" I asked about my haircut. Enola sighed and shook her head. "Don't lie." I warned.
"It's not that I hate it. I just...I'm not used to it and I did love it long." She replied softly.
"That's why I left all the stuff right here." I smiled touching the quiff at the top of my head. She nodded slowly. "Come on, love. What's it going to take to make you like it?" I asked seriously. She smirked a bit and stood between my legs. She ran her hands over the sides of my head where it was shaved. Then she pushed her fingers through the top of my hair and gripped it. She pulled my head back just a little with a smirk. I bit my lip, as I watched her play with my hair the way she would when I was going down on her.
"I think I like it." Enola murmured before kissing me softly. I held Enola around her waist tightly. "Harry, we don't have time for scrabble." She giggled against my lips. I laughed and looked around for Darcy. She ran her hand up the back of my head and into the long part of my hair. Enola gripped tightly again, the way she would if I were making love to her. I reached back and grabbed Enola's wrist.
"Stop that." I murmured. Enola bit her lip and nodded. I released her and let her go back to cleaning up what she could around the kitchen.
"Hey, E." Gemma beamed as she walked into the kitchen. "Hey it's getting to be about that time." Gemma pointed to the clock. It was time for everyone to start going home and getting dressed up for the party. Enola grumbled about getting Darcy dressed. "Well, she asked if she could come to my house and get dressed with me. She had fun playing dress up with me when she spent the night." Gemma offered. Enola looked to me with hopeful eyes.
"That's fine, Gem. Keeps the house cleaner for a little bit longer." I laughed, trying not to be too obvious about my intentions.
"Awesome. I already packed her a bag with the dress you wanted her to wear tonight." Gemma beamed at Enola and I. We both laughed loudly. "We'll be back in a few hours." Gemma kissed my cheek and Enola's before bolting toward the door with Darcy and Nick. I leaned back in my chair and went back to talking to Louis and Liam.
Sophia entered the room, "Liam, we have to go home. I have to get dressed for this party and so do you." Liam groaned and stood up. He bid Enola and I a farewell, promising to return soon.
"I should head out to. Getting Freddie dressed is a nightmare. He can't stay clean for two seconds." Louis announced.
"Yeah. We're familiar with that." I laughed. Louis shook his head and picked his son up from the chair. "See ya later Fred." I waved at the little boy. Freddie waved back at me and followed his dad to the door.
"Enola! Harry! We're leaving to go get ready for the party!" My mother called out to us.
"Okay, Mum! We're just going to finish up the food!" I called back to her, looking at Enola with ravenous eyes.
"We'll be back as soon as we can!" My mum shouted from the main hall.
"Ah don't worry. We got it. Plus we have to get all dressed up too!" I informed my mum, smirking at Enola. She was blushing madly and trying to concentrate on turning off the stove and oven. I got up from my chair and rounded the counter with a smirk. My mother walked into the kitchen as Enola was pulling dishes from the the oven and I began moving pots off the stove, trying to look inconspicuous.
"Is there anything you need me to get, E?" My mum asked sweetly. Enola looked around the kitchen with genuine curiosity. Everything looked finished.
Enola shook her head with a smile, "No. I think we got it all. I can always send Harry after things too." I rolled my eyes and reached for a serving platter that Enola had gotten out.
"Alright, honey. Give me a call if you need anything. Robin and I are taking your dad back to his hotel as well." My mum then chuckled, "God forbid that he and Robin ever be separated." Enola and I both laughed and nodded as I tried to get whatever she had made onto the platter. She left the room quietly.
"Bye Harry. Bye E." Niall and Brynn called out as they exited behind my mother and Robin.
"Bye guys!" Enola called back to be polite. Once we heard the front door close for the last time, I peaked out the window. There were no more cars in our drive. My eyes met Enola's and we both dropped everything in our hands. She squealed as she ran toward the staircase, me following right behind her.
"Wait, baby." I nearly whispered. She turned back and lifted her eyebrow. I stepped into the living room for a moment and the sun-room, just to make sure no one was in our house. When I reached the bottom of the staircase I smirked at Enola. I could see the fire light inside her as I bolted up the stairs toward her. She giggled loudly as I caught her around the waist outside our bedroom door. I made a low growling sound in her ear as she opened the bedroom door quickly.
"Bear!" She squealed again as we landed on the bed. I laughed and meshed my mouth to hers passionately.

I stood next to my mother chatting with some of her friends. They were all busy talking about Darcy and how cute she was. I looked across the room to see Enola sitting on the sofa with Darcy and Freddie; she was reading them a book that was about Christmas. I smiled as I kept my eyes on my girls.
"Harry." My mother's voice snapped me out of my trance like state. I turned my eyes to hers quickly. "What are you looking at so intensely?" My mother asked with concern. I pointed to Enola, Darcy and Freddie. "They are a sight aren't they?" My mother sounded just as taken with the picture as I was. I nodded slowly. "Honey, everyone has started to ask about music."
"Oh sorry. Got lost for a minute." I blushed. My mom just smiled and went back to her conversation. I went to the sound system and pressed play on the playlist that I had been planning out for days.
"What is with this playlist, Harry?" My dad asked as Adele's Remedy came on. "This isn't very Christmas-y." He stated.
"I have it working in a rotation, dad. So no one gets sick of the Christmas music." I informed him with a smile. My dad nodded, like I was brilliant for thinking of it. Enola looked up from Darcy and Freddie and smiled brightly at me. She'd been singing the song to me while we were in the shower. I returned my attention to Robin, Louis and Liam's dad. We were having an in depth discussion about American football. I looked over at Enola with a smirk when I got to mention the Packers.
"Worst team ever." Enola teased, making Louis and Robin laugh.
"We'll talk later." I stated with a menacing tone. Enola stuck her tongue out at me. I shook my head again and listened to Louis as he continued speaking.

Enola nearly ran to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I couldn't help but smile as she did. For the moment, I was happy that I hadn't been involved in a conversation. The song that had come on the sound system was our song. She beamed up at me and caressed my scalp with her fingertips. I kissed her lips softly. She placed her hand on my face and stroked my cheek gently.
"We made our baby to this song." She whispered to me. I was overcome with emotion and couldn't speak. I pressed my forehead to hers and shook my head. Enola kissed my nose lightly. I could feel the weight of what I was about to do on my heart. I knew it was the right thing but I was struggling to keep my composure. I couldn't lose my cool yet. I had to be strong for just a little bit longer. "I love you, Bear." Enola murmured to me. I looked at her with intense eyes and captured her lips between mine with hunger. Enola sighed quietly and held me tighter. She pulled away suddenly and patted my chest gently, "Gotta stop that. There are people in the house." I chuckled and rested my head on hers again.
"I love you, Enola." I whispered in that deep tone she loved so much. She stared at me like I had lost my mind. I rarely called her by her real name anymore. My heart started to race faster when the song changed again. I kissed Enola tenderly and straightened up. I removed my arm from around her waist and leaned against the piano. I looked over at Louis and Niall with a nervous smile.
"OOOH I love this song." Enola grinned, hearing Marry Me by Jason Derulo. She always said that she thought it was a sweet gesture. I smiled back and turned my eyes to Liam and Sophia at the other end of the room. Enola began to sing along quietly. I flicked my eyes to where my mother was standing. Niall and Louis still looked utterly confused. Both Enola and I chuckled when we heard Darcy singing while sitting on the floor next to Freddie. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the small box. I glanced to the side to make sure I had it opened the right way. I made eye contact with my mother and my sister. I could see my sister's breath catch and my mother's eyes filled with tears. My mother reached over and gripped Robin's arm tightly; Gemma did the same to Nick. I inhaled deeply and slowly. The song was almost over and I couldn't believe the boys didn't get what was happening even though they were watching Enola and I so closely. I stayed silent while Enola enjoyed the last of the song. I glanced over at the boys one last time. Still, no expressions on their faces.
"Well, what do you think?" I asked Enola holding the ring for her in my hand. Enola turned to me and instantly her hands flew to her mouth. I gazed into her tear filled eyes with a smile for just a moment. I glanced around the room to see Louis and Niall's jaws in their laps. Darcy didn't know what was happening. Enola was trying her hardest to breathe as she stood in front of me. I knew she was overwhelmed, that's why I didn't mind her silence so much. I knew what she was going to say.
"Enola. I think the man wants an answer." Gemma whispered from not too far away. Enola still just stared at me in complete shock.
"Enola. Answer him. Say anything." Niall pleaded from the sofa.
"Enola, why aren't you saying anything?" Louis sounded worried. I got down on both knees and stared up at her .
"Come on, baby." I held my arms out. Tears finally fell down her face and a sob escaped her lips. I smiled a bit; I still saw a light in her eyes.
"After everything I've done to you, you still want to marry me?" Enola sobbed, still in shock.
I beamed up at her, "Never stopped wanting you." Enola flew into my arms, knocking me onto my back. She kissed me with fire and rested her hands on my chest. I gently cleared her face of tears.
"Why? Why on Earth do you still want me?" Enola asked, her tears slowing just a little.
"The only hope for me is you. I can't love anyone else. I don't want to love anyone else. Ever." I replied in a whisper. Enola slammed her lips onto mine again. I took the chance to slide the ring onto her finger. I broke the kiss with a tiny laugh. Enola gazed at me confused. "I told you you'd say yes." I chuckled pressing my forehead to hers. Enola laughed herself, recalling the conversation we'd had in her studio all those years ago. She wrapped her arms around my neck, her lips meshing to mine once more.
I heard Darcy yelling across the room, "What's going on?" Enola and I carefully got up from the floor as Darcy came running toward Enola and I. I smiled down at my daughter and knelt in front of her. I smiled and took her little hands in my own. "Daddy, why is Mummy crying?" Darcy inquired with a bit of fear in her eyes.
"Because I asked Mummy a very important question." I replied softly. Darcy stared at me curiously. "I asked Mummy if she would marry me." I informed my daughter with a smile. Darcy's eyes lit up as she looked to Enola. I looked back at Enola to see that she was smiling so brightly. "I have something for you." I murmured to Darcy. Enola and Darcy both gazed at me curiously. I pulled a little butterfly ring out of my pocket and held it out to Darcy. "This is for you." I announced. Darcy put her hands together and stared at the ring admiringly. "This is a promise that I will always be here for you. No matter what. It means that you are my babygirl and I will always love you more than anything." I held the ring a little closer to Darcy. "What do you say? Promise you'll always be my baby girl?" I asked.
"Of course!" Darcy shouted. "I love you, Daddy!" She beamed at me. I laughed and put the tiny ring on her ity-bity finger. Darcy then threw her arms around my neck, hugging me as tightly as her little arms could. Darcy pulled back after a moment, looking worried, "Daddy?"
"What?" I chuckled quietly. Darcy looked around the room nervously for a moment. I heard Enola and my mother giggling.
"Aren't you supposed to be kissing Mummy?" Darcy inquired. There were scattered laughs around the room.
"That is a great idea, babygirl." I smiled at my daughter. I stood and turned to Enola. I wound my arm around her waist, pulling her close. She closed her arms around my neck and placed her hand on the back of my head. I pressed my lips to hers softly, but making sure she knew how much I loved her. As Enola deepened the kiss cat calling and cheers erupted through out the living room. I broke the kiss laughing. "I love you, Noli. Always."
"I'll always love you, Bear." She beamed at me. Our lips met again quickly.
"Alright. Alright. Mummy wants her hugs!" My mother shouted from behind me. Enola cracked up laughing and pushed me at my mother. My mother embraced me tightly while my sister rushed to Enola. "I'm so happy for you, my baby." My mum whispered as she squeezed me.
"Thanks Mummy." I smiled against her shoulder. I could feel that she was crying so I held my mum tighter.
"You have a good woman there. Love her with everything you have." My mother advised me.
"I know, Mum. I'm not going to mess it up this time. I promise." I whispered, giving her one last squeeze. I knew she wanted to hug Enola and tell her how much she loved her. As I released my mum, I was rushed by my sister. She hugged me even tighter than my mum did. "I won't mess it up, Gem." I chuckled when she opened her mouth to speak.
"Good. 'Cause she's amazing and I'll marry her if you don't." Gemma teased, letting me go. Within moments, Enola's father was shaking my hand with tears in his eyes. He then pulled me into a hug. We didn't need to say anything. I knew he adored me and I thought he was cool, despite what Enola liked to complain about.
"Good man, Harry. Good man." Lochlan murmured as he pulled away from me. He went to Enola smiling brightly. Enola smiled and let her eyes close as Lochlan's lips touched her forehead. I walked back to Enola when her father released her. I pulled Enola into another passionate kiss as everyone went about their business again. Enola and I were jolted from our kiss when I felt a solid punch to my arm. I turned my head and started laughing. Enola pressed her forehead to my jaw as Perrie, Sophia and Brynn all stared me down. Perrie punched me in the arm and Brynn took a turn as well.
"You made us all believe that you weren't going to ask her!" Sophia took the liberty of hitting me again.
"I know. That way, she'd never expect it." I stuck my tongue out at the girls. Perrie hit me once more.
"Can you please stop hitting my fiancee? I kind of need him to raise babies with." Enola asked of the other girls with a small smile.
