Kidnapped in the Forest

Chapter 1: A Strange Feeling

Evelyn woke up to her alarm going off. This was it. The last day of school was finally here. She didn't hate school, but she didn't love it either. She definitely didn't like summer. 'Just another three months of doing absolutely nothing.' She thought. At least she'd have more time to spend in her favorite place. The forest. She loved it there more than anything else. She quickly got ready for the day. She ran to school through the forest. She stopped at her favorite spot. In the heart of the forest, there is a clearing of trees where the sun - or moon - shines through on one tree in the direct middle of the forest. She put her backpack against the tree and began to climb. She climbed as high as she could, and felt the warm sun hit her face. She inhaled deeply. The wind started blowing, causing her blond/brown hair to fall in her face. She climbed down and walked through the forest to school. It was a short day that day. But all throughout it, she had a weird feeling about today. Her thoughts were interrupted by the bell ringing, signaling it was officially summer. Before any of the students left the room, the teacher gave them notebooks for the students to write about anything they wanted throughout the summer. The students left the room. Of course, Evie went to her special place. I guess I forgot to tell you her nickname is Evie. Oops. She climbed up the tree and looked at the sky as if she were searching for something. An answer. That's what she's searching for. Why did her parents leave? Why did no one like her? What did she do that was wrong? She cried from anxiety and being overwhelmed. She decided to go back home. She went to grab her backpack, only to find it gone. "Oh, great!" She said. "Are you freaking kidding me?!" She groaned. She did, however, find her notebook. She picked it up and walked home. She could've sworn she heard someone walking behind her. But every time she looked behind, no one was there. What about that weird feeling she had? 'You're being paranoid, E. Breath.' She thought. She got home and saw her favorite movie was on. Disney's Descendants. Her favorite character - obviously - was Evie. She enjoyed the movie while eating Oreo's. When it came to the song at the end, she danced with it. She heard whining at the door and remembered about a dog she 'had'. She found the little dog in an alley without any collars or tags. The dog just followed her everywhere she went. She named the dog "Doug". Why? In Descendants, Evie's true love is Doug. When Evelyn found the dog, he stole her heart. So that's why she named him Doug. He was a german shepered. Not a puppy, not an adult. In between. She let Doug in and gave him some food. She had had Doug for a year to this day. For that year, she had been training Doug to do just about anything. She had trained him to attack when needed. Although, he never had to. When E had found Doug, they both really needed each other. He needed a home. She needed a friend. They sat on the couch. Doug laid his head on her leg while she gently stroked him. She looked outside then at Doug. "What do you think boy? Late night walk?" He perked up and ran to get his leash and brought it to her. She put it on and grabbed her coat. They walked through the forest together. Snap! They became alert to that. They saw nothing but heard it again. Doug growled. "Its okay, boy." She said, not really believing it. All of a sudden, the leash was yanked out of her hand and she was pinned to a tree. She couldn't get a good view of the man, because it was still dark out. "Let me go!" Evie cried. She tried moving, but she was pinned really tight. She heard Doug squeal for her, as if he were calling for help. "Doug! Please, don't hurt him!" She pleaded, beginning to cry. She heard no response. The man that pinned her to the tree let her go to Doug. She ran to Doug, hugging him tight. The dog hugged her back. The man signaled her that she had her time with Doug and to get up. She wouldn't let go, though. The man pried her off of Doug. She screamed for help, but that did no good. She felt a hand around her mouth, another around her waist lifting her up. She just hoped that Doug was alright.
