The Hipsters and The Girl
Exhaustion.
Alex’s POV
“That one seemed to go on forever.” Niall complained.
Everyone nodded in agreement because everyone was getting hit with jetlag. I wanted to just sleep but we all had to go to the BRIT Music Award with Paul and his family.
“Drink some coffee or energy drinks or something to wake yourselves up. I know we’re all exhausted but tonight is really important.” Paul seemed like he didn't even want to do this.
“I’ll go get everyone coffee.” I took out my phone while Harry stood up.
“I’ll help you.” He offered walking over to me.
After we took everyone’s orders, I picked up my purse and walked with Harry toward the car. He led the way through the crowd outside the concert hall to his car. I took the passenger seat while he took the driver’s seat with a huff.
“I am so done with today, all I want to do is sleep.” I complained putting my feet up on the dashboard.
“Me too love.” He drove toward the closest Starbucks with a drive thru.
“I know we’re all tired but we need to be awake for tonight, please drink all of your coffee quickly. We’re also having more delivered to the hotel for while we’re getting ready. Speaking of hotel, “I paused to look at the time, “We actually need to get going back to the hotel so we can get ready. We have exactly 3 and ½ hours to be ready and heading out the door.”
Nobody wanted to do it but they got up, grabbed their stuff and headed to the back door that was closest to the cars. Paul walked right behind me and Louis was in front of me. He was holding my hand until I pulled my hand out. We pushed through the fans and media to the cars. I sat down next to Paul and started going over tonight’s plans on the way to the hotel.
When we finally got up to the suite, Lou and the other makeup people set their stuff up in the middle of the room while the guys went to their rooms.
“I’m gonna go help… Who do I help?” I asked Paul with a confusion filling my head.
“Come with me.” He led me to the other room where the guys were. “All of you can take a short nap except you Liam, you're in the chair first but once you're ready you can nap.”
We all smiled and laid down on the beds. I curled up next to Louis as he snaked his arm around my body and Harry laid on his back next to us. We were too tired to care. I let my eyes close and relaxed.
“It’s your turn Lex.” Louis shook me gently.
“Okay.” I grumbled getting up.
Even though it was a short nap, I felt better. I grabbed my headphones and walked slowly to the chair and sat down.
“Hello lovely.” Lou greeted me with a smile.
“Hello.” I smiled back.
“So, I’m going to do a neutral smokey eye bring out your eyes. Then curl your hair and put it in a bun. Are you okay with that?” She was always so nice.
“You're the expert, I trust you.” I had no effort to really care about it.
“Okay sweetie.” She laughed and started on my makeup while I put my headphones on and relaxed.
I hope tonight goes okay. I already know they’ll win but what about me and Louis? We aren’t going public of course but I cant hold his hand or anything…That’s the only downfall to this. I never realized how much I missed him while he was gone. Tonight is going to be so weird… I let my mind wander while she did my makeup. The feeling of the brush on my eyelids was so relaxing. And when she started doing my hair- I was in heaven. The best feeling ever is when someone else is playing with your hair.
I paused my music when she tapped my shoulder. She was standing next to me when I looked in the mirror.
“Wow, it looks amazing.” I smiled at her.
“YOU look amazing and you aren’t even dressed yet.” She corrected me.
“Oh gosh, thank you so much.” I stood up and wrapped my arms around her.
“You really don’t need to thank me, it’s my job.” She chuckled hugging me back. “But you're welcome. You need to go get changed.”
“Okay.” I smiled letting go of her.
I walked into the other room and found a pair of black heels and a gorgeous gown laid out for me. Lou walked in behind me and closed the door.
“I hope you don’t mind me helping you instead of them.” She seemed shy.
“I’d rather you help me anyway. It’s so weird to get changed in front of some guy I don’t know.” I shuttered at the thought.
“I totally get that.” She laughed helping me get my shirt off without messing up my hair.
I took my pants off and stepped into the dress. When it was on, she zipped it up and steadied me while I put on the heels. I stood tall and looked at her.
“You look beautiful.” She smiled.
“Thank you.” I blushed looking in the mirror. “Holy crap, I do!” I heard her laugh behind me.
“You look great but it’s time to go.” She opened the door for me.
“I cant thank you enough Lou, I know it’s your job but thank you so much.” I was almost whimpering.
“You're welcome.” Her eyes were filling with tears. Look what you did.” She laughed wiping her eyes. “Come on, we have to go.”
She walked me out of the room where I was met by Paul and his family.
“Wow, you look beautiful.” They all complimented me.
“Thank you. Is it time to go?” I asked shyly.
“Yea and the guys are meeting us in the hallway.” He opened the door for me.
I walked out to find the guys and their dates waiting for us. Their eyes wandered my body and landed on my face. Louis stepped over to me and entwined our fingers.
“You look great.” They all murmured.
“Thanks.” I blushed again.
“Let’s go guys.” Paul called from the other end of the hallway.
“You look absolutely gorgeous.” Louis whispered into my ear.
“Thanks Lou.” I looked at the ground while my cheeks burned red.
