a band of cousins
good morning hawaii
"Good morning Hawaii," Julia started. She wasn't reading off anything. I think she has this all memorized.
"I'm here today with PEXA 9. We're going to find out a little about this group of singing, dancing, playing any instrument cousins. Let's meet them all first." She motioned for Jake to start.
"I'm Jake. I'm twenty-three and I'm the lead guitarist."
"I'm Ellie. I'm twenty-one, almost twenty-two, and I'm a singer."
"I'm Abbi. I'm also twenty-one and I'm a singer."
"I'm Taylor. I'm twenty and I'm the bass guitarist."
"I'm Brady. I'm twenty-one and I'm the drummer."
"I'm Mara. I'm nineteen and I'm the pianist."
"I'm Anna. I'm eighteen and I'm a singer."
"I'm Sydney. I'm eighteen and I'm a singer."
I faced the camera, like I was supposed to.
"I'm Megan. I'm sixteen and I'm the song writer."
She asked some questions directed to each of us in turn. Then she turned to me.
"Megan, tell me. What's it like being a song writer? Is that all you do? No singing?"
"It's fun. I get to just write things that come in my head. It's hard sometimes when I have writer's block, but I don't sing on stage so it's better. I'm more of the backstage helper." She nodded and I thought she would turn to someone else but she asked me another question.
"Did I hear right? You did all your cousins' hair and makeup?" I nodded.
"They seem to think that I am the best at it."
"How do you do it, since your accident?"
"I can brush their hair fine and they help me with the little things like separating parts so that I can straighten or curl them. Make up is easy with one arm."
"Well you all look very beautiful today and your hair and makeup is wonderful." We all thanked her.
"Megan, I know this may be hard for you to answer but I want to know if your parents' death helped your music career start."
"I guess it did because if they hadn't passed away I would have been living with them and not seeing my cousins as much as I did after we moved to Hawaii." She asked other's opinions.
"We have one more question for all of you. How did Megan's accident affect all of your lives?"
"I think you know how it affected me," I started. "I have to do everything differently."
"And we all have to help her," Jake said with a laugh. They all gave the ways how my accident had affected them. Some of them were a little rude. Sydney said that I was a pain in the butt.
"Now we have a surprise for you." She said happily changing the subject.
"Come on out boys," she said as One Direction walked out. We all gasped, even though I already knew. I just played along with everyone else.
"These boys would like to ask you a question or two."
"Hello. We were just wondering if you would like to write a song with us and perform it at our next concert," Harry said.
We all nodded happily and smiled, probably like idiots. Jake and Brady were laughing at us so I'm guessing we did look like idiots.
"Wonderful," Julia said. "That's all we have for you folks. Help me wish them luck on their song and good morning Hawaii."
We all waved like we were supposed to. The cameras turned off with a beep.
