“Babe, it’s going to start small. You should come with us. We’re only going to be in the U.K. for the first few shows, plus you know no one can do my hair as well as you…” Harry pleaded. Penny had decided to sit this tour out, she didn’t want to be around Niall – but she used Pippa as the scapegoat.
“Pip is too young for all this, she’s got a very simple routine and I don’t want to mess that up.” Penny said as she walked around the living room, collecting various toys that were strewn across the floor.
“This would be perfect for Pippa, imagine all the things she could see at such a young age and I really don’t want to be away from you or her for this long. Please, Penny just think about it?” He asked as he grabbed her by the waist and turned her to where she was standing in front of him, eyes locked with his.
She bit down on her bottom lip and sighed, she would miss him terribly and she knew it would be hell on Pippa to be away from her father for so long. She was being selfish, she could avoid Niall. It wouldn’t be that hard, she’d done it before.
“Fine.” She said with a groan and Harry kissed her hard before picking her up.
“I love you!” He said happily as he sat her back down on the ground. “I’m going to tell Pip, she’ll be so excited.” He said with a goofy grin. Penny rolled her eyes and watched him skip off to their daughters room. He was such a big kid.
She pulled her phone from her pocket and clicked on Mauri’s name before pressing call.
“You’ve got Mauri!” The cheery voice on the other end was beyond comforting to Penny.
“I’m going on tour. Come with me.” She said, sounding desperate.
“Penny, I can’t just up and leave. I’ve got a huge show coming up!”
“I know, but I had to try. I’m beyond nervous. I will probably need a paper bag on my person the entire tour.”
“What’s up babe? Is it because of who all will be there…”
“Ding ding ding, we’ve got a winner. I do not want to be in the same room as he-who-must-not-be-named, much less on a small tour bus.”
“Don’t fret baby girl, he’ll leave you alone. I will threaten him if you’d like.”
“No, don’t do that. It’ll make it worse. I just have to toughen up and avoid him at all costs…”
“You got this, look I’m running late but I’ll call you tonight. Don’t fret babe, you got this!”
“Fine, love you.”
“Love you back.”
Penny slid her phone back into her pocket and continued cleaning up, trying to keep her mind off of what was to come.
