Where It All Began
Did I Get the Part?
“I’m outta here daddio!” I shouted. My mom and siblings are visiting her parents for the week so it’s just my dad and I at home.
“Okay! Tell me how it goes when you get back and break a leg!” He shouted back. Today I have an audition for a part in a new movie coming out and I really want a part. May, Mitchy, and Mikey already have parts in it and somehow convinced me to audition, which is kind of new to me. I sat in the waiting room type area for two hours before my name was called. I read the lines they told me to, they said they would be in contact through my manager (a.k.a my dad), and then I left. As soon as I got in the car I turned on my phone again and sent a text in our group chat telling them to come over for dinner today. When I got home I found my dad and uncle talking to my dad’s camera so I knew they were filming a video, but I decided to ruin it anyway.
“Well hello there dear uncle of mine!” I said hugging him from behind the couch.
“Hello there Mats.” He said turning and kissing my cheek.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him.
“Came to surprise you. Now your papa told me you auditioned for a movie today. How did that go?” My uncle asked me.
“I think it went okay. They said they will tell me tomorrow through you dad.” I said looking down at the pair.
“Gotcha! You invited your crew for dinner, right?” My dad asked me.
“Yeah, but they’ll be coming in about an hour just to hang out and we’re going to film a cover.” I said before heading up the stairs to my room. Once I was in my room I laid down and pulled up twitter on my phone.

Quick I got many favorites and tweets asking what the chance was, but I obviously couldn’t tell. About two hours later my bedroom door opened and my friends quickly filed in.
“Hey Mats.” May said as she plopped down on one of my beanbag seats.
“Okay so we’re singing Diana, correct?” Mikey asked right away and I shook my head.
“Wrong ya goof! It’s Don’t Forget Where You Belong.” Mitchy said.

Right now I’m at the dinner table with my best friends, my dad, and my uncle. We’re just talking about random subject and just as my dad went to reply to May’s question his phone rang. We all got silent and stared at him as he stood up and answered it.
“Do you think this is it?” Mitchy asked me.
“I really hope so!” I said as I stabbed some macaroni onto my fork. About 20 minutes later my dad walked back in. The rest of us have now finished dinner and have been waiting for him to join us.
“So brother? Tell me if my niece got the part or not?” Hank asked with a nervous smile on his face.
“You go in for your first read through with those dorks on Monday!” My dad said and we all shouted. I stood up with May and we did our happy dance making everyone laughed.
“Sweet. What time?” I asked.
“Noon.” He replied and I nodded my head.
“Great! So we leave one meeting to go to another. Who is coming to pick me up?” I asked. Yeas I can drive it’s just that our first meeting starts at 6 a.m. and I will barley be awake.
“Oh I thought I was picking everyone up.” Mikey said with his arm around May.
“Okay sounds like a plannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.” I said really drawing out the word plan just because I can. After I helped my dad with the dishes the four of us went out onto my screened back porch. May and I sat on the bed type thing we have out there while the others sat on the chairs we have.
