Tell me if you love me

Ashleys POV:

Calum is at my front door, Calum. “Hi Ashley I just wanted to check that you were okay after what you’ve been through recently.” He stands there awkwardly, there was a time when he was welcome at my house at any time. I must surprise him as he is startled when I rush at him and wrap my arms around his neck and I am crying, its all I seem to do these days. He opens his mouth when I pull away and I can already guess what he will say includes an apology. I hold up my hand to stop him “Calum whatever you’re gonna say its fine, truthfully I forgave you months ago its just with everything going on I never got to tell you, it happened a year ago the past I thought i could never forgive you at the time, but well I missed you.” Every word I say is true and I realise just how much I have missed Calum, after Ashley he was the next thing I had do a best friend.

I smiled widely at him and surprisingly I saw tears in his eyes, Calum never cried, never. “Oh, Ash I have missed you too, so, so much” We embraced again and then sat together talking about anything and everything. Thats where Luke found us when he eventually came to talk to me. He frowned deeply when he saw us and suddenly I just felt anger towards him. “Yes?” I said. “I should probably-“ Calum started hastily standing up but I pulled him back down next to me “No, stay” I ordered. Then I turned my burning glare towards Luke “Christine’s gone has she? Got time to visit your girlfriend again?” “Calum, mate can you leave please I have to talk to Ashley” Calum didn’t hesitate he wrestled away from my grip and rushed away murmuring a goodbye as he left.

Then it was just us. In silence “Luke, it broke me you being in a coma, it really did I thought I would never see you again the least you could do is I dont know spend some time with me?” I shouted. “Ashley of course I understand how hard it must have been for you” he began in a patronising tone like he was talking to a child “No, Luke dont even bother, and dont speak to me like I’m an immature child” “Well you’re acting like one!” he burst out. I just stared at him “I dont even know you any more” I whispered. He stamped his foot in frustration “Ashley Im the same person I was before, is this really just because of Christine? Can I not hang out with other girls do you feel that insecure?” I physically felt his words like a blow. “Ashley Im sorr-“ he began realising how much he had hurt me.

“Please save me your grovelling, we’ve both said what we needed to. I dont know who you are but you’re definitely not the boy I fell in love with, so lets just end it here, now.” He looked at me with pleading eyes. I reached for my neck and unfastened the infinity necklace he had given me, unfastened it dropped it into his palm and walked away.
Its strange how someone can mean the world to you but one moment can change everything, I didn’t cry I had no tears left to cry. Instead I walked upstairs and called Jade.

Two hours later I was at her house, the party she had told me, no forced me to come to had started. Once I had told her about the break up she had advised me to come. “You need cheering up" she had said. I thought I looked good in a red mini dress, my hair piled on top of my head loose curls framing my face and full make-up. Judging by the appreciative looks I was getting others thought I looked good too.

“Ashy!” Jade said hugging me “How you doing babes” I smiled bravely at her “Im okay” I was not okay. “Here you go, this will lighten you up.” She passed me a small glass filled with red liquid, I was in the reckless mood I swallowed it whole, not really caring what it was. I took another from the table, then another I loved how it was making me feel all bubbly like I was floating. “All right there?” said someone brushing past me. I looked up the someone was very attractive, I didn’t recognise him. My heart fluttered, how could someone this cute be interested in me? He took my arm and led me to the corner of the room, I followed as if I was in a trance. He put his arms around my waist and lowered his head to mine. “Get off her!” someone shouted pushing the guy away from me.

“Get your hands off my girlfriend!” I expected to see Luke, I was so dizzy I couldn’t see what was going on, I couldn’t believe I had almost kissed a complete stranger. I looked around for who had saved me, Calum, he still had his arm on the guy and was pushing him away. “Stay away from" her he growled. Then turned to me “God, Ashley what are you playing at?”

Suddenly, I felt nauseous and sick, my head was pounding I tried to stop myself but it was no use I threw up all over Calum.
