Just a Little Bit of Your Heart

Ch.14

Madison's POV

"Get in loser, we're going shopping!" Parker mocks the voice from the mean girl on Mean Girls. Regina is her name I think.

I laugh and get inside the rental care, waving goodbye to my friends. "Your dumb." I giggle.

"Is this just surprising you now?" He rhetorically questions. "So what kind of homework you got?"

I shrug, flipping through the binders in my lap. "Not a lot. I can handle it. Why?"

"We're going shopping." He says with an eye roll.

"Since when do you go shopping?"

Parker's face turns a bit pinkish and he looks straight at the road. He tightens his hands around the steering wheel and clenches his jaw. "I don't know. I just like shopping." He murmurs.

"What was that? I can't hear murmur."

"Oh you heard me."

"But what's the real reason for why you like shopping?"

"It reminds me of Mallory, okay?" He sighs loudly and relaxes his shoulders as if telling me this lifted a weight from his shoulders.

"Mallory? The girl you lived with...?" Parker nods. "What happened? Parker if this trip is going to make you sad, let's not go."

"No I'm fine. Truth is she got me addicted to it." He laughs some. "I thought I was in love with her. And I thought she felt the same about me. I did everything for her, but she gave me nothing in return. And I was so blind that I couldn't see that I was being used. One day I came home and there was a note on the counter saying that she was leaving me. She blamed it on moving back with her family and long distance shit, but later I found her with another guy probably doing the same thing to him as she did with me. After that the house just felt so empty and I couldn't take it anymore, so I moved in with a couple of friends and haven't seen her since."

"Parker, I'm sorry. I had no idea." I confine, placing my hand over his for a since of comfort.

"Yeah. That's why I want you to be careful with this Luke boy. Not just Luke, but your other tattooed friends as well. They all seem kind of shady."

"Shady? Like you think their hiding something?"

Parker hesitates, probably finding the right words to say. "Something like that. I don't know what it is, I just feel like there's something that all of them aren't telling you."

"Oh. Well I know that Luke has trouble opening up about things, but he's trying. And the other guys just don't talk much about themselves." As I say the words, I realize that there is still so much that I don't know about them.

I sigh and lean back on the seat fiddling with my fingers and trying to let this sudden uneasiness pass. Parker leans over and says, "I didn't mean to upset you. Just be cautious is all."

"I'm not upset. Thank you for looking out for me. It's been a while since I've had that." I smile to him. "At least I know a lot about Violet."

"Violet..." Parker says her name like he's trying it out. "She's something else you know."

"You talk like you know her." I play with my words.

"Please I don't know her." He scoffs almost out of spite. "I don't want to know her either."

We park the car and make our way into various stores as our conversation continues. "Well how could you say that if you don't know about her?"

He sighs and looks at me. His eyes looked so different from anything than what I've ever seen them. They looked hurt. "Let's change the subject."

Odd I know. And I make a mental note to ask Violet about this later, but I obligate and change the subject. "Have you tried their fudge?" I point to the shop across from us.

"Nice change in subject." Parker laughs. "No I haven't."

"What better transition than to food?" I joke.

"Well let's try some shall we?" Parker dips down as if tipping a dress.

"We shall." I copy his movements, laughing loudly; almost a cackle laugh. But I couldn't help it, being around my brother brings out a strange weirdness in me.

~~~*~~~
"I had fun hanging out with you today, sis." Parker hugs me and kisses my forehead.
"Same here." I yawn, really feeling my exhaustion now. After the mall we went to ride carts, then found ourselves in an amusement park. So yes, I'm more than tired.
"We'll do it again sometime. Goodnight." He smiles and walks down the hallway to his room.
"Love you too!" I call after him.
"With all your heart?"
"I'll give you half." I kid.
"Deal." Parker smirks and enters his room. I walk into mine as soon as I hear the click of his door.
As soon as I step into my room, someone presses me up against the wall sending kisses down my neck. "Hopefully your saving the other half for me." Luke pants, kissing harder and sucking some.
"Someone's eager to see me." I chuckle, pushing him off enough so I can attach my lips to his.
"That's true." Luke smiles looking down at his shoes, and letting me sit my things down.
I sit my books down at my table and crack open my homework. "How was your day?" I was surprised by this question coming from Luke. So surprised, it made me turn around.
"It was okay." I nod. "What about you? How did the office situation go?"
"It uh-it went." Luke rocks back and forth on his feet, looking anywhere but me.
"You didn't go did you?" I spin completely around to look at his lying face.
"I was going to, but then I didn't." He shrugs sitting on my bed.
"Luke you have to accept the consequences for your actions. Even if you think it wasn't your fault."
"So you think I'm lying about it not being my fault?" Luke asks, defensively.
"Let's be honest. You daydreaming in class is your fault. Not knowing what class you in, is your fault. I get the whole Michael thing, but most of it was your fault."
"I thought you were on my side here?!" He raises his voice.
"Luke people in my house are sleeping. Don't wake them up."
"I'm not lying." He says, ignoring my statement.
"I never said you were. Just own up here and there and accept the consequences, even if you don't like them."
"So your saying you would do the same thing if you were in my position."
"I'm just trying to-"
"Well don't." Luke interrupts harshly.
"What happened to not fighting?" I cross my arms and near him. "Luke look at me." I grab his chin and direct it in my direction.
"Sorry." He grumbles.
"Its a start." I smile and kiss his cheek.
"I'll see you at school. Goodnight."
"You don't have to go."
"I have to be home tonight." He nods whilst nearing the window.
"Okay then." I nod and stand up to tangle my body in his, signaling him that I don't want him to leave.
"I'll stay tomorrow." He gives a small smile, kissing my forehead.
"Goodnight." I tell him and watch him scram out the window.
"Goodnight, lovely." And with that he runs down the road in the drizzle with nothing to cover his head from getting wet. I keep watching until the trees hide him from my view, and work on the homework I can, trying to keep him from my head.
Notes
Hi guys sorry if you thought this was another update. I wanted to redo this chapter because I felt that it was rushed and needed to be fixed. And I noticed that after this chapter the rating went down, so that gave me another reason to fix this up. If your wondering, the reason why I didn't edit it is because it wouldn't let me in to edit it, so I had to do a whole other chapter.
Anyways, this was mainly to get to know Parker a bit more, and also its the beginning to some plot twisting scenarios so stay tuned! Feel free to vote subscribe and comment if you feel the need!
