Strictly Professional.

The boys were on the stage now, getting everything prepped and just being rambunctious as ever. Lou and Penny had found seats in the audience, far enough away that they wouldn’t get splashed with whatever the boys decided to test out. Water bottles, spray string, spray CHEESE, anything really. Lou’s fingers were quickly tapping the screen of her mobile. Penny’s eyes hadn’t left Harry since she’d sat down, she was being obvious, but it was hard to look away. His smile, his dimples, his laugh all drew her in and held her captive.
“What ya’ lookin’ at?” Lou asked suspiciously as she gave the girl side eyes. Penny quickly turned her eyes back to Lou and shook her head, giving a nervous laugh.
“I’m looking at those idiots. Can you believe they’re pulling this off? They’ve got the world wrapped around their fingers.” She said with a smirk, knowing Lou knew the boys were silly and still growing up, but were dominating the music scene. “Yeah, nothin’ surprises me anymore.” She let out a laugh, her suspicions wavering and her attention was diverted back to her phone, she was looking at pictures of her daughter who was not currently on tour with them. “Oh I miss my babe so much, be right back. Skype time.” She said with a smile as she hopped up and walked away toward the exit. Penny gave her a wave and then returned her attention to Harry, they were almost finished and then he’d have a few hours before the show. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted by the ringing of her phone, she looked down to read the name “Silas” Flashing across the screen, she slide the unlock button and pressed the phone to her ear.
“Hey you!” She said cheerfully, placing a finger over her free ear so that she could hear him better.
“Hey gorgeous, you busy?” The voice asked, obviously hearing the noise in the background. His voice sounded a little muffled too, causing Penny to get up to get better reception out in the hallway. She leaned against the wall before speaking again.
“Better?” She asked.
“Much. How are things? I spoke to Mauri, she said you may stop by in a couple weeks?” Silas asked, eagerness in his voice.
Penny and Silas had been broken up for almost a year now, they had remained close friends, but she knew he was still harboring feelings for her. They had dated for almost 4 years before splitting up, life on the road proved to be too much of a strain on their relationship. She still loved hearing from him and had even planned on maybe trying to work things out with him eventually when her life settled down.
“Yes, I will be there! It’s mom’s birthday so I got some time off and I’ll be flying in, we’re going to have a big dinner at my sister’s house. You’re invited, obviously. “ Her finger had found its way to a stray hair, twisting it around and around mindlessly as she spoke.
“Great, I can’t wait to see you. It’s been too long Penelope.” Her family and friends from home were the only ones that used her full name; she’d shortened it completely when she left for the first tour, hoping to get away from the formality of the name. She let out a snicker and shook her head.
“You too babe, I’ll be expecting your world famous spinach dip so you should probably make like triple the amount you normally make.”
The two flirted back and forth for a bit, talking about nothing in particular just listening to the other speak.
“Penny! Let’s go , we’re getting food.” She heard Harry call from the door way, his head leaning out to give her a smile. She grinned and held a finger up to him, signaling she’d need a minute. The boy was ever the playful type though and was quickly running up to her, his hands grabbing at her waist and lifting her up. Before she knew it she was slung over his shoulders, letting out a squeal and grasping on to him and also to her phone. “I’ll have to call you later Silas, give your mom my love!” She called before hanging the phone up drastically and smacking Harry on the back.
“You’re so rude!” She exclaimed, Harry ignored her however, laughing all the way down the hall until he had met up with the rest of the guys.
“I’ve brought a woman, she will make us sandwiches!” He called in a caveman voice. The boys erupted in laughter, Penny’s legs began flailing and finally Harry placed her back into a standing position. She glared at him and then the others. “You’re all barbaric, I’m not making any sandwiches but you all can buy me lunch.” She said with a grin before turning to Harry and giving him a playful smack on the cheek.
Everyone was walking out of the building, but Harry held Penny back.
“You shouldn’t slap me in public…” He said with a devious smile, his tongue slipping out and over his bottom lip as he slid his hand around her waist and squeezed a handful of her bum.
“Let’s make lunch quick, I’m ready for dessert…” She leaned her head close to his, her lips lingering right above his ear as she whispered, nipping at his earlobe before turning to walk out the door.
