Strong (Book 2 in the No Control series)

Liam is out working today, so it’s just Ella and me at home. I can’t believe she’s three months old already.
We receive a surprise visit from Karen and Geoff. “I didn't know you were coming by today, I’m afraid Liam’s working.”
“Oh we know, he asked us to help him with a surprise.” Karen says as she hands me an envelope. Inside is a note from Liam, telling me he’s taking me away for the night. His parents will stay with Ella. And that there is a new dress for me upstairs.

As I slip on the short red dress, I realize I feel truly sexy for the first time in ages. I’ve worked really hard to lose the baby weight. Although some still remains, Liam seems extremely happy with my body.
I add a cute red trench, then make my way downstairs.

“Thank you both so much.” I tell Karen and Geoff. Then I tell Ella goodbye with mixed emotions. It’s hard to leave her, yet I’m extremely excited to spend some alone time with her Daddy.
Once in the car, I pull out the instructions Liam left me. The smile never leaves my face, the whole drive to meet Liam.

I remove my trench coat before entering the hotel bar. Then taking a seat at the bar, I order myself a drink. It doesn’t take long for a guy to occupy the seat next to me.
“Hey, can I join you?”
I flash my wedding rings. “Sorry, I’m married.”
The guy gives me a judgemental look. “If you’re married, then why the hell are you in a bar, looking like that?”
I feel a familiar hand on my shoulder.
“I’m the reason. Hello, Mrs. Payne.” Liam says, leaning in to kiss me.
“Mmm….hello, Mr. Payne.”
“I believe you’re in my seat, mate.” Liam tells the shocked man.
He shakes his head, then walks away.
Liam claims the seat next to me, placing his hand on my thigh. “Are you teasing strange men again?”
I grin. “Well, I had to entertain myself somehow while I was waiting for you.”
