Strong (Book 2 in the No Control series)

Liam heads out to the waiting room to tell everyone the good news. Karen and Geoff come in first to meet the baby.
After I’ve had a chance to get cleaned up and eat something, we invite everyone else in.
Liam sits beside me on the bed, holding the baby. He looks at me for confirmation, I nod. With the biggest grin, Liam tells them. “Everyone, we would like you to meet...Ella Elizabeth Payne.”
I smile, as everyone raves at what a sweet name it is.
We have one person at a time come up to meet Ella. They all congratulate us, commenting on what a beautiful baby she is. Liam and I are so happy, so proud, that I swear we may burst.
Harry approaches, leaning in to give me a kiss on the cheek. “Congrats, Lizzie, she’s adorable. Just like her mum.”
Then giving Liam a hug. “Congrats, Liam. You do realize you’ll be spending the rest of your life chasing boys away from her, right?”
Liam sighs. “Yes.”
Harry and I laugh.
“May I hold her?”
“Of course.” Liam says as he takes Ella from me, putting her in Harry’s arms.
Liam heads over to talk to Louis and Niall. I smile as I watch Harry have a long conversation with Ella. As it is with most girls, she is captivated with him. The only part of the conversation I catch is “Uncle Harry” and “I’ll always be here for you”.
Later, everyone clears out, giving us some time to rest. Liam and I sit together, to feed Ella. He takes our first family selfie. Then I watch as the nurse teaches Liam how to change Ella’s diaper. He’s so adorable. I never thought it would be possible to love him more than I already did. Yet today, we shared a miracle together. We brought a piece of him and a piece of me into this world. I’m so overwhelmed by my continually growing feelings for Liam. To love someone and have it be so true, so unbreakable.
While Ella sleeps, Liam joins me in the bed, wrapping me gently in his arms. “You’re amazing, Liz. I love you and Ella, so much.”
