Aspirin&Love;

To 'Mars' and back

Marley's POV

There is nothing like the feeling you get when the warm sun kisses your face, the smell of crisp wind caressing you in a manner inhuman. A beautiful thing really, how summer can change in a mere second. Thrashing wind balling to your face like a cold, hard slap. The smell of humidity and car oil drenched roads. But the worst change of it all had to be the jail bitten building every kid feared. School.

I think I had to have hated it the most. Every teacher despised me, and if you weren't in my circle you probably hated me. I was completely content with my small and simple social group of three. I had known Raylen since third grade and now we'd be moving to our junior year together. No more playing bad, I needed a's to get into a semi-descent college. Though I know I'll end up taking the short cut and follow Ray to community college. She had that kind of bad influence on me where she could trick me into thinking I could just slack off and I'd have a school to fall back on. Usually grades didn't bother me, but for some off chance, I actually cared enough to not get c's this year.

Ray snapped her boney fingers in front of my face and waved, queuing me back into reality. A small smirk appeared on her face as she rolled her eyes and slammed her locker shut. "Thinking about Mr.Right?" She chuckled walking down the hallway, her backpack hanging low to her ass. Why did she do that, doesn't make you cool unless having shoulder problems in your 60's is cool. I looked up at her rolling my eyes and pressing my books to my chest. "No but seriously, if you like him why don't you talk to him?" She half-laughed looking me dead in the eyes but continuing to walk. Shit, how'd she know I liked someone? I shrugged my bag back onto my shoulder and gripped my books a little harder. "I haven't got a clue what you mean." I murmured sarcastically looking down at my red vans that barely fit my large feet. She grabbed my left shoulder, swinging me towards her "Everyone knows Mars, and by everyone I mean me, that you like that cool kid." I looked away from her, then met her eyes again fitfully and shrugged. She rolled her eyes yet again and let go of my shoulder allowing me to walk. I knew she'd be done now, she gave up easily when it came to persuading me. I wouldn't have much of it. "Look I gotta go home, need a ride?" I signaled to her by lifting my hand up, keys dangling on my middle finger. She shook her head and looked at me "I'll just walk." She said disappointed that I wouldn't walk home with her. Why the hell should I walk seven miles when I have my own car? I shrugged it off and headed outside.

There was a bench outside the school that I normally sat on while I waited for Damon to get out of chem. so I could drive him home as well. It wasn't hard as he was my neighbor after all. Me and Damon had been friends since we were two, our families had always been in touch. So I learned to love him like a brother.

I sat down on the bench and fiddled with my feet, keeping my bag on the seet next to me. I could vaugly hear footsteps behind me and perked up as I thought it was D. I turned around in my seat and peered around in the burning light that shined in my eyes. To my surprise I saw Harry, a tall, built brit. He had dazzling green eyes and hair like waves to match. He was a dream and overall the most mysterious guy at my school. He walked my way, starring right at me, a smile appearing. I swiveled forward to face the parking lot and he sat to my left, leaving barely a foot between us two. Don't screw this up Marley.
