Today was going to be a good day. Even though I'm waking up alone, it's going to be a good day. This good day is going to start with extra sleep followed by me rolling over, but when I did something crinkled underneath me. I sat up and felt around where I had just been and my hand suddenly came across a little white paper it said,"What's the last thing you do before you leave for work?". I actually had to ponder this for a moment. So, instead of sleeping in I was going on an adventure, this should be fun. In my head I run through my daily routine and usually the last thing I do is grab my car key's from the hook next to the door. I escaped the confines of my nice warm bed and rushed to the door where my keys hung on the hook, but nothing was there. I looked around until I saw a bright pink sticky note out of the corner of my eye. It read, "Put on your favorite casual outfit and take a walk through the park. Go to our spot". Okay, now I'm headed back to my room to find my favorite outfit. I practically had to tear apart my closet to get it, but I found it. After I was all dressed and ready I made my way to the park. It was the perfect day to go for a walk in my favorite, going on an adventure set up by my favorite man. As I walked through the park my heart sunk as I walked by all the couple's who probably saw each other everyday. I didn't care though, I just continued walking to our bench, and there on our bench sat a rose with a note attached to it. "Where did we go on your last birthday?", it said. Well, it's a very romantic and long story, but my favorite part was when we rented a boat and rode down a river that went from our town to the edge of the city. So, I continued down the path and to the other side of the park where the boat rentals were. "Hello, young lady. Looking to take a boat out?", the man at the counter was older, but looked happy doing what he was doing. I smiled and nodded as he handed over a key and an envelope. He winked and waved as I thanked him then turning to walk down the dock. Once I was on the boat I opened the envelope revealing a picture of us on my birthday only a month ago. Along with the picture was a note that said,"Meet someone very close to you at the mall by the photo booth". Easy enough, I drove the boat along the beautiful river taking in the amazing scenery before I came to the dock that sat right outside of the city. From there the walk to the mall was short and quick. The mall itself wasn't so big and there was only one photo booth. Not only was there only one photo booth, but there was only one photo booth with my best friend standing next to it. "I see you got the message" she said once I was a good enough distance to actually hear her. "Yeah, I wondered if it was you I was going to find". "Well come on. I have special instructions", she said grabbing my arm and pulling me into the photo booth. We took funny picture after funny picture and we were laughing so hard I was doubled over. So when we got our pictures there was one where I wasn't in it because I was laughing so hard. "Oh, what's this?", she said picking up a paper that must have came out after our pictures. I looked at it as she read the message, "Roses are red. Violets are blue. Diamonds can't shine as bright as you". Not to mention the emphasis she put on diamonds. We both awed and hugged before saying good-bye and going separate ways. Now I know exactly where I'm going. There's this little shop that has the most gorgeous bracelets and necklaces that I always stop and look at when we go shopping. That's where I am now, standing at the counter mouth gaping in awe at the amazing jewelry. "Find something you like?" came a recognizable voice. Of coarse, it's the guy who always asks the same question to me when I stop. "That ring is so beautiful" I pointed to a simple yet elegant ring with a small diamond. "Ireland", this time it was a different voice, a voice I hear everyday near or far. When I looked up and saw Zayn I was about ready to jump over the counter and tackle him in a hug. The man took the ring and gave it to Zayn, who came around the counter and got down on one knee. "Ireland, you are my best friend and girlfriend. The first thing I want to see in the morning and the last thing I want to see at night. You are beautiful in your own special way and I love you for that. Will you make me the happiest man ever and be my wife?", by now a crowd had surrounded us, but I didn't care. Tears were rolling down my face in front of a bunch of people, but I don't care. All I care about is the look on his face when I said," Yes". All of a sudden a flash went off and something dropped to the floor. "Look how cute you guy's are", that's my best friend for you. She had taken a picture with an old camera and held the developing Polaroid out to us. It showed my look of shock and Zayn's smile as he said word's that made my heart beat like a percussion ensemble. I grabbed his collar making him stand up and then leaning in to seal this deal with a kiss. More flashes went off and the crowd awed a bit. This is the happiest moment of my life. When we pulled away he slid the ring on my finger, whispered "I love you", then proceeded to kiss me again. This is the moment that lead to forever, a moment I will never forget. I knew it was going to be a good day.
