Chapter 48

Chapter 48 (Harry’s P.O.V.)

I’m not sure how I got dragged into doing this. Of everyone in the group, I had to be the one that had to pick her up. Tracey couldn’t do it because she and Louis were in charge of the whole thing, Liam was distracting Hannah while Sabrina, Zayn, and Niall set up our flat for when we got back tomorrow night after the surprise. That left me having to go to the airport to pick up little miss sunshine.

I was currently waiting near the terminal for her. Finally, I saw her walking towards me. I gave her a small wave as I kept my lips pursed together. I knew that she didn’t like me, and I didn’t want to push my luck.

“Hi.” I said when she was to me.

“Hello.” She forced out before walking passed me. I sighed as I followed her. She walked over and got her luggage and headed for the door, not even bothering to look at me. I stayed behind her as we left the airport. I flagged down a cab for the two of us. I would have put her bags in the cab, but she moved to do it before I could even offer. I opened the door for her to get in. When she saw this, she turned and walked to the other side of the car, getting in herself. I just sighed as I slid in and told the drive where to go.

Alice was supposed to stay with Tracey until the surprise tomorrow. I was wishing that Tracey had come instead of me, because this cab ride was going to be terribly awkward. I finally decided that I needed to kill the silence, no matter how bad the results were.

“Why do you hate me?” I decided that if this was going to end badly, it was going to be for a good reason.

She turned to look at me, “You are a horrible person.”

I was shocked, “What?” I was really confused. What had I ever done to this girl?

“You are a spoiled little boy who hasn’t had to work for anything. You are handed everything on a silver platter and think that you are better than everyone else. You are never told no and when you are, you find a way to get what you want. You’re a conceded brat with a fat wallet and let’s not forget that you are a little man whore.”

I really didn’t knew what to say to that a first, but there was no way that I was just going to sit here and take that.

“Where do you get off at saying that?”

“I know how you are, Styles.”

I looked back at her, “You don’t know me.”

She crossed her arms at me, “Then why don’t you enlighten me?”

I was really getting sick of her attitude. “I work. I don’t just run around and whore up with girls like everyone says I do. Yes, I am seen with a lot of girls, but I don’t fuck all of them. And I don’t act like a spoiled little brat either. I don’t know what’s got the stick up your ass, but you need to get over it and not take it out on me.”

“Fuck you, Styles.” She spat. I could tell she was upset. “You don’t know me either.”

“That’s not my fault.” I claimed.

“That stick up my ass is because I had to give up my dreams and grow up.” I could see tears threatening to come to her eyes. “If you had to step up and take care of your two younger siblings, you would be sour too. You don’t have to work to support them and pay the hospital bills for your dying mother!”

Now I felt like a jackass. Maybe she was right about me. I looked away, I couldn’t look at her after that. I didn’t know her mom was sick.

“I’m sorry.” I mumbled, “I didn’t know.”

“I know.” She spat back.

I looked over and saw her staring out the window. She was really hurt. Way to go Harry, you ran your mouth again.

“I take back what I said. I shouldn’t have gotten mad at you like that. If you want to hate me, you can hate. You have plenty of reason to now.”

I turned to look at the seat in front of me. I really wouldn’t blame her if she did hate me. I mean, I hated me right now.

“No,” I heard her say. I turned to look at her. “I shouldn’t have judged you before I knew you either. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.” I nodded to her.

She chuckled a little, “I know I was wrong about you being conceded.”

“Hey what about the other things?” I asked.

“This is your stop.” The cab driver said as we stopped. I looked at him for a moment as Alice stepped out. That poor guy had heard everything that we had said.

“Thanks,” I said as I handed him some money, “Keep the change.”

By the time I had stepped out of the cab, Alice had her luggage and was heading for the door. I walked ahead and got the door for her.

“Thanks.” She nodded.

“You’re welcome,” I replied. “I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

I turned to leave but was stopped.

“Harry?”

I was shocked that she had called me by my first name, but didn’t want to seem like an idiot so I turned back.

“Are we okay?”

I looked at her and nodded, “Yeah, we’re okay.”

And with that, I left the building. I felt a little better knowing that Alice and I were friends now. At least, I didn’t have to worry about her killing me at the surprise tomorrow.
