Your Touch

Chapter 26

Chapter 26 (Hannah’s P.O.V.)

I hated being out of my apartment right now, but somehow I had let the girls convince me that I needed some fresh air. I had to admit it did feel good to walk around. I had missed LA while I was away shooting.

“I’m hungry,” I heard Tracey begin to whine. I sighed, I was waiting for this to start.

“Me too.” Sabrina added, holding her stomach. I had to admit, I was pretty hungry myself.

“Pizza!” Tracey exclaimed suddenly before darted off ahead of us. Sabrina and I chuckled at her as she jumped up and down under the sign to a pizza shop. She looked like an idiot.

“I guess we’re having pizza,” I looked at Sabrina. She nodded back in agreement. Tracey hadn’t really given us a lot of options.

We barely had time to catch up with her before she was darting inside to find us a table. I sighed. She had so much energy today. I was getting tired just watching her.

It took Sabrina and I a little bit to find Tracey in the pizza shop. She had pick a circular booth all the way in the back of the place. I rolled my eyes as Sabrina and I slid into the booth with her.

“What can I get you girls to drink?” a waitress asked us. She turned and looked over at me first.

“A Sprite please.”

“A Mr. Pibb.” Tracey said before looking to Sabrina.

“Diet Coke, please.” She said with a smile, “And I think we’re ready to order too.”

“Alright,” she said as she pulled her pad and pen out of her apron pocket.

Sabrina and Tracey looked at me. I sighed, “A large pizza with half pepperoni and half Italian sausage please.”

“Will that be all?”

“Oh,” Tracey jumped in, “And an order with breadsticks with sauce.”

The waitress scribbled it down, “What kind of sauce?”

Tracey turned to me. She could never remember what the sauce was. I could have tattooed it on her forehead and she wouldn’t have been able to remember it.

“Marinara.”

“Alright,” she smiled, “I’ll put your order in and bring you your drinks.”

The three of us replied in a chorus of ‘thank you’s as she walked away from our table.

“Thanks, Hannah.” Tracey smiled to me.

I shrugged my shoulders, “No problem.”

The three of us began some small talk as we waited for our pizza. It only took about fifteen minutes for our pizza to be brought to us. It was steaming as the girl set it on the table. I forced myself to move the breadsticks away, so we would all stop eating them and eat the pizza. It was really good. We all continued to talk as we ate.

“So,” Sabrina asked, “What are we going to do after this?”

I looked at the time on my phone. It was nearly five o’clock and I wanted to be home well before the creeps came out.

“I don’t know,” I said, “maybe we should head home for the night.”

“No,” Tracey whined through a mouthful of pizza. We waited as she tried to chew faster. “We should go to the arcade before we go home.”

I thought about it for a minute. I could always tell the others to go on without me, but I knew that they weren’t going to leave me alone. Especially after how they found me in my apartment yesterday. I’m pretty sure they would have taken me out earlier this morning, but I knew Tracey had to work.

“I suppose we can.”

“Yay!” the other two cheered and gave each other high-fives. They had these huge goofy grins on their faces. I sighed, taking another bite from my pizza. I was happy that they were happy, and I knew that we would have fun at the arcade. We always did.

“I’m ready.” Tracey announced moments later. I looked at her plate, trying to figure out how she had eaten all of her pieces that fast. I looked down, still seeing an untouched slice left for me. I could tell just how much she wanted to leave, because she started to bounce up and down in the booth and bump her hip into mine.

“Will you calm down?” I asked, giving her a funny look.

“Sorry,” she stuck her lower lip out at me, “I’m just excited about going and having fun with you guys. I’ve missed you.”

I sighed. I knew what she was talking about, I had missed her too.

“Okay,” I said as I wiped my hands on my napkin quickly. “Let’s go.”

The others smiled as we all exited the booth and went up to the counter to pay for our meal. It wasn’t a bad price for the three of us and the pizza was excellent. I was definitely coming back here again.

“To the arcade!” Sabrina exclaimed as she pointed forward and began walking. Tracey followed close behind her as I shook my head. I watched as Tracey began to hop around behind the still charging Sabrina. They were so goofy. I think some of it was put on though, like they were trying to cheer me up or something. I didn’t care though, because it was working. I was in a lot better state than I was yesterday.

It wasn’t much longer the arcade came into view. This was one of my favorite places in the city. The girls and I could come down here and act like we were younger again. I missed the old days of high school. Not the works so much, I missed all of our old friends and all of the memories that we had together. Nothing would ever change those days, but this place helped to bring them back. As soon as we got inside, they each grabbed one of my arms and began to drag me. I laughed. I knew where they were dragging me to.

“Kill it.” Sabrina said as they shoved me onto a Dance Dance Revolution board. I smiled turning back to them.

“Who shall be my first victim?”

Sabrina and Tracey pointed to each other at the same time. I sighed, “Rock, paper, scissors.”

They played and Tracey won. Sabrina slumped her shoulders as she climbed up next to me. I slid the money into the machine and began to set up the game.

“Your pick.” I told Sabrina.

She stared at the screen as she went through the song list. I’m not quite sure how many times she went through the list, but she finally decided on a song. She had chosen “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie. I knew she was going to pick that song, she always did.

The music started and I started to move with it. Tracey cheered us both on as we danced. At the beginning, we were pretty even in score. But as the song progressed, I slowly began to take my lead.

“Not fair.” Sabrina whined as she tried to keep up.

“Sorry,” I breathed.

They both knew I was the champion at this game. I loved to dance. I even used to help to choreography for drama when we were in high school.

“Winner: Player 1.” The machine said as the song ended. Sabrina and I stood there for a minute, catching our breath. I managed to speak after a minute.

“Good job.”

“Thanks,” she replied as she turned to get off the game. I turned to Tracey, ready to tell her that she was up.

“Trace, your…” I trailed off as I froze. Walking toward us, I could see the boys. My eyes landed on Liam, and I felt my heart skip a beat. He looked back at me, a smile coming to his face. Then I panicked and I did the only thing I could think of. I turned and ran.
