Daddy's Girl
Chapter 3: Calm & Collected
Sigh to myself as I walk over to the front desk. I figured Emmy wouldn’t live anywhere extravagant, but an apartment building is the last place I’d pick to live. I can’t live so close to people I don’t know.
And for her being new to the city and whatnot, it was completely dangerous. I only knew she just moved here because I over looked her resume, over and over and over again. Emmy Blaine Matthews.
What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
‘’Can I help you, sir?’’ The guy behind the desk mumbles.
‘’Yeah, um I was a little unsure of how the housing numbering went around here. On what floor can I find apartment 405D?’’ I ask the man, hoping he wouldn’t drag around, but just tell me quickly.
‘’Let me look.’’ He sighs, annoyed.
I roll my eyes as I huff in response. His eyes were staring at the computer screen for a few long minutes. I became very impatient as he just clicked on the keyboard, I hated that sound.
‘’C’mon, man. I got places to be and people to meet.’’ I groan slightly as I roll my eyes at him again.
‘’Hold your balls, dude.’’ He sighs.
‘’Watch the attitude, dude.’’ I mock his tone.
I get an eye roll and a sigh in return from him. Finally, after what felt like forever, he looked up at me and finally gave me what I wanted from the start.
‘’Eight floor.’’ He mumbles.
I don’t thank him or even respond in any way whatsoever. I head to the elevators. I press the up button and wait a few moments for it.
The door soon open and a young girl with a little infant baby in her arms smiles as she walks past me. Some people in this world are just simply good and clean. But as for me, I surely was innocent and God knows I’m definitely not clean.
As I stand in the elevator, I suddenly felt something turn inside of me. My stomach was aching out of nowhere. My palms were already sweating, so that didn’t help my confidence at all.
“C’mon.. c’mon.. c’mon.’’ I repeat the word a few times, how long could it possibly take to go up eight floors?
‘’Bitch.. fucking hurry up.’’ I huff as I lean my back against the wall. I watch the numbers go up, the elevator was slow as shit.
‘’Seven.. c’mon bitch.’’ I whisper as the 7 button glows blue for a few moments, but then finally the 8 button was green, meaning that I was at my location. Thankfully.
The door opens and I step out. The hallway was empty. It was sorta nice, from what I’ve seen so far, well besides the slow elevator.
I glance at the nearest door closet to me. It said 402D. Okay, so walk this way, I assume.
Nervously, I wipe my palms on my plain black T-Shirt. I don’t go out of my way to look presentable, especially when I’m at home. If you haven’t noticed by now, I had nothing with me. No folder, no nothing. Nothing but my wallet, my keys, and my phone.
She’ll find out the sorta truth soon though.
I smile happily as I reach her door. I take a deep breath, then I exhale slowly, trying to keep composure of myself and stay calm and collected.
‘’Shhh..’’ I soflty shush myself as I close my eyes.
I focus in on my inner self, and I ignore the bad thoughts and the rude things in my mind. I wanted to be sweet and gentle with Emmy, I didn’t want to talk rudely and treat her harshly.
Not yet at least.
‘’Okay..’’ I sigh as I open my eyes and I bring my fist up to knock on the door.
And I do just that, my knuckles slightly banging against the white wood. I shift my weight from foot to foot as I wait patiently.
I didn’t want long, thank God for that though.
The door opens and I’m greeting with a rather.. beautiful Emmy. She smiles sweetly as she invites me with just a gesture.
Alright Styles, keep it cool and clean. Nice and sweet.
