01. The Rain Part
Niall’s POV
‘’Dad, can we please go outside!’’ Tristan whines like a little kid. ‘’No, what point of ‘its about to rain’ do you not understand?’’ I sigh, continuing on with what I was doing before, putting clean clothes away in his room.
‘’The rain part.’’ He mumbles, probably thinking I didn’t hear him. ‘’What was that?’’ I ask, raising my eyebrows as I glance over my shoulder at him. ‘’Nothin’.’’ He sighs. A few moments later I heard the door shut, he’s such an over reacting person.
‘’Daddy? Daddy?’’ I heard Tori’s voice calling me. I sigh to myself once again, what could be wrong now? Let me guess, your shoes are too tight. Or perhaps you’re annoyed, or maybe you’re just looking for some excuse to annoy me.
I just kept quiet, hoping she wouldn’t come in here, besides she doesn’t have any reason to look in here, so why waste her time you know? But as always, my hopes are crushed and the door opens. Don’t get me wrong, I’d do anything for them, but sometimes they just annoy me.
‘’There you are! Mom’s been looking for you for ages! She needs your help.’’ Tori says as I shut the dresser drawer, finally finished with Tristan’s clothes. ‘’Of course she does, what could she possibly need now?’’ I ask as I turn to face her.
‘’She needs your help with Terra, givin’ her a bath and all.’’ Tori shrugs lightly. ‘’Alright, go tell her I’ll be there in a few minutes. I have to go start the next load of clothes.’’ I say.
‘’M’kay.’’ She nods before turning and leaving the room. I grab the empty basket off the bed and head towards the door. Just as I turn the light off and step into the hall, my name was called again.
‘’Dad! Taylor won’t leave me alone!’’ Tristan says as he runs past me, almost running into me. I sigh once again as I see Taylor running this way too. As he goes to run past me, I hold my arm out and stop him.
‘’Leave your brother alone.’’ I mumble to him. ‘’He’s a loser! We’re just playin’ tag.’’ Taylor sighs out, annoyed at Tristan’s constant complaining. ‘’Don’t run in the house.’’ I sigh as I drop my arm, knowing that no matter what I told them, they would just go ahead and do what they please anyways.
‘’Daddy.’’ Terra winces lightly as I hold her hand, she hated this because she just wants to be able to do it herself, even though she can’t. ‘’Shh.. it’s okay, love. Mommy’s almost done.’’ I assure as I kiss the top of her hand.
‘’Niall, will you go get the catheter stuff ready, its almost six o’clock.’’ Jana says as she starts to rinse Terra off. ‘’Yeah. You need me to come back and get her?’’ I ask as I stand up, letting my little angel’s hand go.
‘’Yes, please.’’ Jana nods a little as she continues. ‘’Alright.’’ I sigh lightly as I leave the bathroom. This was the hardest thing to get through my mind at times. Because Terra can’t feel from her waist down, she can’t feel when she has to go to use the bathroom.
So the doctors gave us this medicine that she has to take every day that will stop her bladder for six hours, we have to give it to her every six hours, expect for at night, she wears a pull up, which she hates.
And when she has to do the other business, Jana has to basically clean her like an infant. But it’s okay, because we don’t mind. We’d do anything for them, even the things we have to do to help Terra.
She wears a catheter when we go out somewhere, or we go to someone else’s house, or whatever the reason that we leave the house. And we have to do it once a day though, doctor’s rules I guess.
‘’Daddy.. Can I go play?’’ Terra asks me as I hold her in my lap. We were sitting on my bed, just sitting. ‘’I don’t know love.. everyone else isn’t really playin’.’’ I mumble, not wanting to break her little heart.
‘’Can I go to Tori’s room?’’ She asks me. ‘’Babe, you have to ask her. But Daddy’ll take you.’’ I say. ‘’Okay.’’ She nods lightly as she smiles a little at me. ‘’Alright.’’ I smile back as I put my arm around her back and the other under her knees. I get off the bed and let her adjust her arm around my neck.
“Daddy.’’ Terra sighs lightly. ‘’Yeah, babe?’’ I ask as I look at her. ‘’Thank you.’’ She whispers. ‘’For what?’’ I smile lightly. ‘’For taking me to Tori’s room.’’ She smiles at me. ‘’Your welcome, baby.’’ I nod lightly as she just smiles at me.
A few moments passed and I finally made it to Tori’s door, thankfully it was open. I sigh lightly as I clear my throat, unable to knock. ‘’Yeah?’’ She asks, looking up from where she sat on her bed.
‘’Terra has to ask you something.’’ I say. ‘’No Daddy, you ask her.’’ Terra whispers to me. ‘’Babe, just ask her.’’ I mumble lightly. ‘’Please Daddy, you do.’’ She insists with a light smile on her pretty little face.
‘’Tori, can Terra sit in here with you for a while?’’ I ask Tori, for Terra’s sake. ‘’yeah, sure but I um… I’m studying, not really doing anything.’’ She shrugs lightly. ‘’Alright, she doesn’t mind I’m sure, she just got a little bored.’’ I say as I walk into the room and over to the bed.
‘’Where do you wanna sit, baby?’’ I ask her in a whisper. ‘’On the bed.’’ She points towards the headboard and I nod lightly as I go to put her down. ‘’Daddy.. what if she you know, needs to like..’’ Tori sighs a little. ‘’She’ll be fine.’’ I assure her as I kiss Terra’s forehead.
‘’She’ll be okay, babe.’’ I whisper lightly as I kiss the top of Tori’s head, trying to assure her that this was all going to be okay. I trust Tori, and I know she’ll be a good big sister, she always has been and always will be.

‘’Terra has to ask you something.’’ I say. ‘’No Daddy, you ask her.’’ Terra whispers to me. ‘’Babe, just ask her.’’ I mumble lightly. ‘’Please Daddy, you do.’’ She insists with a light smile on her pretty little face.
‘’Tori, can Terra sit in here with you for a while?’’ I ask Tori, for Terra’s sake. ‘’yeah, sure but I um… I’m studying, not really doing anything.’’ She shrugs lightly. ‘’Alright, she doesn’t mind I’m sure, she just got a little bored.’’ I say as I walk into the room and over to the bed.
‘’Where do you wanna sit, baby?’’ I ask her in a whisper. ‘’On the bed.’’ She points towards the headboard and I nod lightly as I go to put her down. ‘’Daddy.. what if she you know, needs to like..’’ Tori sighs a little. ‘’She’ll be fine.’’ I assure her as I kiss Terra’s forehead.
‘’She’ll be okay, babe.’’ I whisper lightly as I kiss the top of Tori’s head, trying to assure her that this was all going to be okay. I trust Tori, and I know she’ll be a good big sister, she always has been and always will be.
