Only The Beginning

"Hey hold on a minute Lou, some one just rang the door. I'll call you tomorrow alright?" I said, finally ending our 3 hour talk about how she loves to see the world and do some boy bands' makeup and stuff. You'd be surprised on how often she talks about it even though she's been doing the same job for the past 5 years.

"Okay. I'll talk to you later. Night" She answered. I hung up the phone and quickly ran downstairs through the living room, to the large wooden double doors. I swung them open hoping to see Donnie, Micheal, and my parents, home early on their 6 week trip. But sadly, and quite strangely, I saw a large muscular man standing in front of me dressed in crisp, nicely pressed suit.

"Hello."

"Hello Miss Kathrine. Can I come in? It's quite urgent." He said with a strong American accent. Obviously not from here.

"Okaay? I think... May I ask who you are first?" I ask, confused on the situation.

"Oh... I'm sorry I totally forgot. I probably sounded like a complete creep!" He answered, sounding shocked with himself. "I'm Henry Bernard, The Connecticut State Police Chief and head Detective of the Lancaster Police Agency."

"It's nice to meet you Mr. Bernard. I'm Kathrine Evens, 19 year old from Bacup, Lancaster England. Please come in." I said as professionally as I could. Reminding me of my mum, who always sounds like that when she is taking conference calls, which is constantly.

"First off, please just call me Henry. Now the news I bring, will probably be shocking to you so I advise you to sit down." He paused looking uncomfortable.

"Is everything alright sir?" I ask wanting to move this along so I could go back upstairs to finish my painting that I've been working on for the last week.

"Well, I've never wanted to be the one to bring this news to such a young women, like yourself." He said motioning to me, while sitting down. I quickly sat down in the wooden rocking chair across from him to listen. "This news will probably shock you, as I said before. Your brother and your parents have bean found dead at the bottom of a ditch in Connecticut. As far as we know, it seemed that they hit a large tree on the path and their car fell of into the ditch. I'm so sorry for your loss." I didn't know what to do. I couldn't even respond, and before I knew it the walls began to spin around me before I passed out.
