The Preacher's Daughter ~ Z.M.

Chapter 1

My name is Tabitha Corrigan, and I’m the daughter of the preacher at the local church in Cave Springs, Arkansas. I go to a Christian girls’ school, so I’ve never been in love before, nor am I interested in it.

That is, until one day when my friend from another school, Sabrina Baskin, called to tell me she won tickets to see a band called One Direction. Of course, I didn’t know what the devil she was talking about, because I only listen to Christian music.

“Who’s One Direction?” I asked Sabrina.

Sabrina laughed. “Girl, you’ve been living under a rock! They’re the biggest thing since sliced bread! Go to the concert with me; you’ll love them!”

I sighed. “Alright, I’ll go.”

“Great! I’ll pick you up on the eighth, since the concert’s on the ninth.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

As soon as I hung up, Daddy asked me who I was talking to.

“Oh, just Sabrina Baskin. We’re going to San Diego in a few days,” I said.

“That’s fun! What are you gonna do there?”

“Um…you know…Colton Dixon.”

Colton Dixon is my favorite Christian artist.

“Oh, okay. As long as you’re not gonna see those heathens in One Direction.”

~~~~~
On July 8th, Sabrina, Mrs. Baskin, and I started our road trip to San Diego. We stayed the night in a little town in Texas and got to San Diego the next afternoon. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel, Mrs. Baskin went inside to check us in while I called my parents to let them know I’d arrived safely. Mom answered on the fourth ring.
“Hey, it’s me. We’re in San Diego,” I said.
“Great! Enjoy your stay, and be back by noon on the 11th.”
“I will, Mom. Bye!”
“Bye-bye, sweetie.”
~~~~~

The three of us got to the stadium just in time to see two guys chatting animatedly with each other. One of them had long, brown hair, while the other had a black buzz cut, tanned skin, and loads of tattoos. Sabrina gasped when she saw them. “Oh, my God! It’s Zayn and Harry! Come on, Tabs!”

Before I could remind her not to say God’s name in vain, Sabrina dragged me towards the guys.

Zayn’s POV

I was chatting to Harry outside the stadium when we were approached by two girls. One of them had mid-length blond hair, and the other had her curly brown hair in a ponytail. I had my eyes on the blonde.

“Hi, guys!” the brunette said cheerfully. “We’re huge fans!”

“I’m not,” the blonde said. They both had beautiful southern accents.

“Why not, love?” I asked the blonde.

“She doesn’t like boy bands. She’s a Bible thumper,” the brunette said, giggling. “I’m Sabrina, and this is Tabitha!”

“It’s very nice to meet you girls,” Harry said.

“Would you like to come backstage to meet the rest of the band?” I asked.

“Sure!” Sabrina said.
