CLAIRE'S POV
Once I sat down on the couch next to Louis, I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. James was asleep in his room now, I was tired but it was four in the afternoon so it was too late to take a nap, but way too early to go to bed.
Louis had his head back on the couch, he was quiet and so was I. We just sat in silence, enjoying it while it lasted. We both knew soon enough the James would cry non stop, so every moment of peace and quiet was valuable.
My head was pounding a bit, I must have a stress headache. I stood up and headed toward the bathroom, once I was there I opened the cabinet and grabbed the ibuprofen.
"Can you hand me two of those." Louis asked from the doorway.
Pouring two more tablets into my hand, I handed him some and a small cup of water. We both gulped down the pills and walked to the bed. Louis face planted while I just sat down and massaged my temples.
"Love, you should sleep." He mumbled next to me.
I shook my head, "No, I'll wait until tonight so I can sleep through the whole night. That is unless James decides to wake up."
"Exactly, if he wakes us up I want you to be well rested." He countered and say up, "Besides, I've been sleeping for hours. It's your turn."
"No, I need to stay awake." I sighed, "I'll be fine, Lou. I promise." I attempted to give a reassuring smile, but it failed because I yawned.
Louis rolled his eyes, "Fine. I know arguing won't do any good, so let's tell jokes!"
"Jokes?" I gave him a weird look, "You? Telling jokes?"
"Knock knock." He grinned.
I groaned, "No."
"Knock knock." He repeated.
"No."
"C'mon I won't stop. Knock knock."
"Who's there?" I sighed again.
"Marry."
"Marry who?" I looked at him.
Louis crawled off the bed, kneeled on the floor and pulled out a little box. "Marry me." He opened the box revealing a gorgeous ring.
I gasped and looked at the sight, "L-Louis! Of course I'll marry you." I felt the tears form and I smiled.
Louis smiled to and stood up, then wrapped his arms around me and gave me a passionate kiss. I laughed in the middle of the kiss, "A knock knock joke? How funny are you."
Louis smirked, "I'm fucking hilarious."
"Whatever."
LIAM'S POV
*a month later*
"Calm down," I mumbled and continued to pace back and fourth in the dressing room, "Calm down."
It was today. Today was the day, the day I was going to marry Lauren. It was finally happening, I was nervous as hell and scared too.
I was committing to spend the rest of my life with her. Start a family, take care of her, that's not something you just do everyday. I had this odd feeling in my stomach, it was a mixture of nausea and butterflies.
"Liam," Louis knocked on the door, "Lad, it's starting in two minutes."
I took a large gulp of water and walked to the door. Louis and Ed were standing there with small smiles on their faces. "You okay?" Ed asked.
I just nodded and wiped my sweaty hands on my pants and took a deep breath. Fixing my tie, I walked into the ceremony room and stood at the alter. Ed and Louis followed and stood behind me with their hands behind their backs. I nervously tapped my foot waiting for this all to start and be over all at the same time.
The second the music began to play, and everyone stood up, my heart beat increased. The doors opened and revealed Lauren, dressed in a beautiful white dress. Her veil partly covered her face, but it couldn't hide her smile.
Her dress fit her perfectly in every way. She held a bouquet of white roses and lavender, her two favorite flowers. Every step she took, made my heart melt. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.
She stepped up onto the alter and caused my to smile just as much as she was. I lifted the veil off her face, making me purse my lips. It was hard not to just kiss her right now.
The pastor cleared his throat, "Ladies and gentlemen. Today, we are gathered here for the marriage of Liam James Payne, and Lauren Michelle Rowan."
It was happening.
"I, Liam Payne, take you, Lauren Rowan to be my wife." I slid the ring onto her finger and kissed her hand.
Lauren grabbed my ring, "And I, Lauren Rowan, take you, Liam Payne, to be my husband."
Lauren had a few loose tears sliding down her cheeks. I wiped them off with my thumb and looked at the pastor. After saying a few more lines he finally said, "Now, with the power invested in me. I now pronounce you, husband and wife."
He looked at me, "You may kiss the bride."
I grabbed Lauren's waist and tipped her upside down and kissed her. The crowd clapped and made me smile into the kiss. I lifted her back up and picked her up, the way she's always dreamed about.
Claire and Emma did the whole throw rice thing while we walked out of the church. Lauren was laughing hysterically as I ran to the car waiting out front.
We got into the car and the driver started the car. "I love you."
Lauren said with the most beautiful smile on her face.
"I love you too."
