What am I supposed to do with her? Do I let her stay? Do I take her back to her apartment? God, I'm so confused right now.
"Harry..." she mumbled.
I think that's the name of her fiancé.
"What about Harry?" I asked, yawning quietly.
"Harry... He left..." she said. He left? Where did he go? "He... Went to... Be a soldier..." He's in the army? That must be why he's never around...
"Um... Nina? Is that your name? Nina? I think it is..." At this point, I realized I was mostly talking to myself.
"Nina."
"Okay, so it is Nina. Er, I guess you can just..."
I ushered her towards the couch, and she dragged her feet across the carpet, taking seven years to get to it. I gently lay her down on the couch, careful not to wake her. I heard once in this TV show or a book or something that if you wake up someone who's sleepwalking, they can go all psycho. I don't really remember, but I don't want to risk it.
I pulled a small blanket over her body, and she turned herself towards the cushions. Okay. Is that all I need to do? Yeah... Okay.
I began walking towards my room, when I heard her mutter something again. So she sleepwalks and sleep talks?
"Don't leave me," she said quietly. I assume she was talking about Harry, so I kept walking.
Getting back into bed, I knew it was going to be impossible to fall back asleep. Not only because of my insomnia, but also because my mind never sleeps.
What am I supposed to do with her? Just let her sleep here? What happens when she wakes up? Will she remember this? Probably not. What will she think when she wakes up in a stranger's apartment? I mean, we've seen each other before, but we've never talked.
What if she files a police report because she thinks I've kidnapped her? She cant sleep here!
But I can't take her home right now... This might be the first time she's slept in a while. I
certainly wouldn't want someone to wake me up if I finally fell asleep.
I'll take her in the morning. But, early. Like, 4:00 in the morning. She'll have enough time to sleep, and I'll have enough time to get her back in her own bed. Besides, she seems like a heavy sleeper, so if I need to, I can just carry her...
*~*~*~*
I spent the next four hours thinking about Louis and thinking about Nina and thinking about how I really need to sleep. But it's really hard to sleep if your mind's always awake and wants to play.
I rolled out of my bed and walked out into the living room, towards the couch. Nina's sleeping position had changed drastically. When I left Nina, she was wrapped in the orange blanket and her arms were folded across her chest. Now, her head was on the complete opposite side of
the couch, and her right leg was hanging off the edge of the couch while one of her arms was twisted behind her back. It didn't look comfortable.
I carefully and quietly opened my apartment door and walked across the hall to hers. I think it was hers, anyways. I tried the knob, and thankfully, the door was unlocked. I pushed it open wide, and then walked back to my apartment.
Trying to pick Nina up from her weird position proved to be one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do at 4:03 in the morning, but once I had her in a secure hold, I was able to move her back to her apartment. There was only one bedroom, and the door was already open. I walked to the large bed and set her down after pulling the sheets back.
When she hit the mattress, I was afraid she would wake up, but instead, she rolled over onto her stomach and continued to sleep. I silently moved towards the door, ready to go back to my own apartment.
"I'll miss you," Nina said. This was the first sentence I'd been able to fully hear, since the rest were just mumbles.
It must really suck to have the love of your life away. Especially in the army, because there's a constant fear that they just may not come home.
Closing my door, I sighed heavily. I haven't had more than three hours of sleep in the past five days, and my body isn't functioning well. I walked over to the medicine cabinet and grabbed one of the many, many prescribed sleeping pills I had. I didn't bother to see which one I had picked up, I just opened the bottle and put two pills in my mouth. After washing them down with water, I went back to my room and buried myself beneath the sheets, hoping for a deep slumber to take me under.
Liam?! Well that's a turn of events.. :)
