All of the lads decided to drive this morning. We all got to park next to each other. As we got out of the cars we all looked at each other and we couldn’t believe that today was the best day in the world. We went around opening the girl’s doors and as they got out I kissed Katie on the cheek. They all then looked at each other and smiled. We were walking to the common room when I put my arm around Katie’s shoulder and she grabbed my hand and held it.
This was the day that we both would be running for head girl and boy. We all waited for everyone to be seated in the hall. Katie was so nervous to give her speech. She asked me to stand at the back of the hall when she does it. I didn’t mind. We went in to the hall there were seats left at the front off the hall for me and Katie and then there was some seats a row behind. The head mistress walked in and it was all about to kick off. She called out the order in which everyone would be speaking in. Katie was first. She was relieved but shit scared. I was last I didn’t mind. When the head mistress said Katie’s name I said “don’t worry babe you will be fine just pretend everyone is in a funny onsie.” She laughed. She was fine and ready to go.
Her speech was amazing. She would defiantly get head girl and well by the crowd’s reaction. She felt like she had done an amazing job. When she sat back down all our mates were tapping her back and saying where the hell that has been kept up. That was so inspiring.
I had to focus. It was my go. I knew what I had to say, it was written down. As the head mistress said my name Katie gave me a kiss on my cheek and said you can do it. She really believed in me. As I walked up the stairs to the stage I could feel my heart beating really fast. I had to calm down. I managed to calm down just in the nick of time. I can’t believe that I have just managed to do that and in front of the whole school. We wouldn’t know the results until after lunch. We were all so excited.
