EMMA'S POV
its been 10 years since I've seen Ashton and I miss him everyday of it. I wish I would have chosen him. After college calum and I got married and we have a little 6 year old Gracie. She is bubbly and loves everyone.

When Gracie turned 3 calum started to drink and became an alcoholic, and what comes with that is abuse.

the day the abuse began:
I had put Gracie to bed around 8 and now it was going on 12:30 and calum still wasn't home. " calum where the hell were you!" I yelled at him. " the bar of course." He slurred. " of course I spend all day here alone while your at the bar drinking!" I yelled. " shut up." He said. " what?" I said angrily. " I said shut up!" He said and slapped me in the face.

I started to cry," w-why would you do that!" I said. He slapped me ever harder. " I told you to be quiet and you didn't listen now be quiet and go to bed." He said as he walked upstairs and went to our room.

I went up to our room and layed in bed. I quietly weped myself to sleep that night. Gracie can't know her father is a bad man he just had a bad night.

PRESENT

i got up and made coffee for calum and I and got cereal for Gracie, calum and I. " morning Emma." Calum said walking downstairs. " morning." I said as he pecked me on the lips. Well ill take my coffee to go and Ill just quickly eat this." He said as he ate the cereal quickly. Gracie came downstairs dressed for her first day of school. " well look at you Gracie my little girl is going to 1st grade today!" Calum said as Gracie hugged him before he left for work.

after we ate our breakfast I drove her to school. " mommy will you walk me in?" Gracie said. " of course." I said. As I picked her up and carried her to her classroom. When I walked in I saw the teacher turned around writing his name on the board " mr. Irwin" he wrote on the board. " Ashton!" I said. " Emma?!" He said excitedly.

" mommy do you know mr. Irwin?" Gracie said. " um yes he used to be a friend of mine." I said to her. I kissed her on the forehead and quickly walked out. " Emma wait!" Ashton said chasing me down the hallway. " what's wrong?" He said catching up to me. I hugged him," I-I don't think calum would want us to talk." I said nervously. " you married calum?" Ashton said.

" Yes and it was the worst mistake of my life I wish I would've married you." I said and started to walk away. I got in the car but Ashton followed me out," can I get your number so we can talk sometime?" Ashton said. I quickly put my number is his phone and he did the same. " bye." I said and drove home.

Once I got home I was happy Ashton is back in my life. Maybe he could help me get out of here. Calum may be a rich man because of his company, but I don't like being here anymore. I love calum but he's changed since when we first got together. He's just an abusive alcoholic.

Gracie had friends from kindergarten in her class so she wanted to spend the night at one of her friends houses tonight. I dropped off her stuff and picked things for dinner. By the time I got home it was 7. I started to make dinner and calum came home at 7:30 drunk. " where's my dinner!" He yelled at me. " I-it's not done yet." I said. " finish it!" He said and punched me in the face then grabbed my arm causing me to wimper. " finish it." He said and let go of my arm and turned on the television.

I went into the kitchen and finished up the spaghetti and set the food out. " calum dinners done." I said. He came in and sat down and we ate in silence. When calum finished eating," I'm going to the bar ill be back around 4." He then left.

I went into the bathroom ad looked into the mirror. I had a huge bruise on my arm and a huge cut on my face and a throbbing headache. I broke down and started to cry. I needed someone I can trust someone I've known for along time that has always been there for me. I need Ashton. I grabbed my phone and called him.

" Hey Emma what's up?"

" a-Ashton I need y-you now." I cried into my phone

" Emma what's wrong?!" He said worried

" I'll text you my address a-and then ill explain."

I hung up and texted him my address. After 15 minutes Ashton got here. I opened the door and broke down crying again. I hate it when people see me like this. He wrapped his arms around me," shhhh Emma tell me what happened?" He said carrying me to the bathroom. He found the neosporine and the band aids. " calum happened." I said. " he did this to you?" He said suprised. " he use to be loving and nice but he became an alcoholic and started to abuse me." I said which made me cry again just thinking about it.

" I wish I would've said yes to you 10 years ago Ashton you were such a great guy but I never saw it." I said looking down. " look at me." He said lifting up my chin so I was looking into his beautiful hazel eyes," Emma I've never forgotten about you Emma and I still feel the same way."
