This Is Not an Illusion ~ L.T.
Chapter 4
Robyn’s Apgar scores came back normal, and she would be coming home today.
After we left the hospital, I took Aubrey, Waylon, and Scotty to my parents’ house while Louis and Harry went to take care of Gerard.
When we got to Mom and Daddy’s place, I let us in and said hello, being careful not to wake Robyn.
Mom was the first to join us in the foyer. “Oh, how precious!” she marveled, pinching Robyn’s cheeks. “She looks just like you! Where’s Gerard?”
“He never showed up. As it turns out, he was cheating on me again,” I said.
“I knew he was no good! May I take Robyn to the nursery? You probably need a nap, anyway.”
“Sure.”
I gave Mom Robyn’s carrier and lay down on the couch for a nap.
Fifteen minutes later, I woke up to a call from Louis. But when I answered, I heard Harry’s voice.
“Louis has been attacked by a massive dog, and he’s been taken to hospital,” Harry said.
“What?! How did that happen?!” Then, I remembered the neighbor’s Rottweiler. “Oh, God, it was the neighbor’s Rottweiler, wasn’t it?!”
“Yes, it was. We were fighting with your ex when he sic’d the dog on Louis. I tried to get the dog to stop, but he didn’t listen. Get to the hospital as soon as you can.”
“I will. Thanks for telling me, Harry.”

Harry’s POV
I hung up with Katelynn and continued to pace the floor, like I had been ever since Louis was admitted. The doctor had told me there was a chance Louis had contracted rabies from the dog, which made me very nervous and on edge.
Eventually, I was joined by Katelynn, Aubrey, and the kids, and then by Louis’ girlfriend Eleanor. They all asked me if I’d heard anything yet, and my answer was no.

Katelynn’s POV
Aubrey and I got to the hospital with the kids at about the same time Louis’ girlfriend Eleanor came. I asked Harry if he’d heard anything yet, but he said no.
“You can cry on my shoulder if you want,” Harry offered to me.
“Thank you,” I said, and started to sob on Harry’s shoulder. I cried so much I fell asleep, and I was awakened later by Harry greeting Louis’ family.
I righted myself in my chair and saw Louis’ parents, along with all seven of his siblings. Daisy and Phoebe looked like they’d been crying.
“The twins look like they’ve been taking the news the hardest,” I commented to Johannah.
“Lottie made the huge mistake of convincing them that Louis was dead,” Johannah explained. “She’ll be grounded for a week.”
Just then, a doctor came by to talk to us and addressed Harry. Harry shook his hand and asked how Louis was.
“Your mate took quite a blow from that dog,” he said. “Mr. Tomlinson has scars all over his body, and his eyes have been gouged out. We’ll need to do reconstructive surgery on his eyes.”
I gasped, knowing Louis may never be able to see my face again. “Will he still be able to see?” I asked.
“It’s hard to tell at this point. It depends on how well the surgery goes.”
