Chapter 9
As soon as I got off the phone with Caitlyn and Andy, my phone rang again. Suddenly irritated, I picked up and said, “What do you want?!”
“Whoa, Jess! Are you okay?” Liam asked.
“Do I SOUND okay?!”
“Well, I guess not…but you’ve been acting like this off and on all month! Maybe it’s the rape.”
“What the fuck does getting raped have to do with being irritable?!”
“Well, remember when your ex raped you? I think maybe he might’ve gotten you pregnant. Why don’t you go to the doctor and tell me what you find out?”
I took a deep breath. “Okay.” I hung up with Liam and went to the doctor’s office.

Liam’s POV
About two hours after I got off the phone with Jessalyn, she called me back. “Hello?” I said.
“Liam, I’m pregnant,” Jessalyn said.
I had a mini-heart attack. I’m only 20, and my girlfriend’s having a baby! “I’m not the father, am I?” I asked without thinking.
Jessalyn giggled. “No, silly! It’s Aaron!”
“Oh, yeah. You were raped. Well, I’m happy for you. I mean, not that you were raped, but…” I just babbled on and on until Jessalyn stopped me.
“It’s okay, babe. As long as you’ll be there.”
“Of course, love. Oh, I better go. Our plane to Toronto is boarding.”
“Okay, bye.”

When we got to Toronto seven hours later, I called Mum to tell her about Jessalyn being pregnant.
“Mum, I have great news. My girlfriend’s pregnant!” I said after she answered.
“Liam, she’s only seventeen! You know better than to have sex with an underage girl!”
“But Mum, we never had sex! She was raped!”
“Bloody right, she was raped! You were the one who raped her!”
“No, I wasn’t, Mum! Her ex did it!”
“I don’t care! Break up with that girl right now!”
“You’ll see when the baby comes out! Her ex is BLACK!” I ended the call without letting Mum say anything else.
“What did your mum say?” Niall asked.
“She said she’s happy for me,” I lied.
“I can tell when you’re lying, mate,” Harry said. “Tell us what she really said.”
I sighed. “She wants me to break up with Jessalyn because she thinks I was the one who raped her.”
“Rubbish! If you were the one who raped her, it would be all over the papers!”
“I know!”
“I’m gonna call her straight away!”

Harry’s POV
Mrs. Payne answered immediately and said, “I’m still not letting you see her, Liam!”
“This isn’t Liam, it’s Harry,” I said. “Your son is NOT a rapist.” I explained what went down when Jessalyn got kidnapped.
There was a pause before Mrs. Payne said, “Let me talk to Liam.”
