The Newbie

There was nothing more pleasing than being able to go back to North Carolina for a two weeks. Winter here in England was not nice. It's cold and stuffy. At least back home it's not too cold. Two layers and jeans could keep you warm, but here I was freezing. It didn't help that there was no option to wear pants at school. Just my luck.

Unlike other trips we had taken, our parents let us bring a couple of friends with us. Dad decided to keep the house in NC just in case we didn't like it in the UK and wanted to move back. I thought that was sweet of him, but if he was happy, I was happy. So our parents normally don't like inviting friends with us to travel because 1) more responsibility and 2) they claim we won't bond as a family. There is only so much bonding I can handle. I can go to family dinners, movie and game nights, and take a weekend trip but spending three or more weeks with just Riley and my parents every waking moment just is not fun. I love them but they can get annoying at times. What family doesn't get under each other's skin, especially when traveling. Most of my friends already made plans to go to other places in Europe with their families, like France, Switzerland, Amsterdam or Spain, so I don't really have anyone to invite. Riley on the other hand, jumped on the opportunity to invite more of his friends. He had decided to invite four of his lacrosse buddies, including Harry. Every since the party at his place I haven't been able to get him out of my mind.

I know that Ashley would kill me for admitting it, but I would like to spend some more time getting to know Harry. When Ashely found out that he had been over almost every week, she flipped a shit. She wanted to know every detail about when he cameleer, how long he stayed, and how acted around me. It was crazy really. I get not being over him, but he's my brother's friend and teammate, we were bound to hang out at some point. I'm hoping her craziness stops by the time I get back from NC.
