Through the Dark

The next morning I wake up and quickly realize Liam isn’t beside me. I can hear his voice though, he must be on the phone. I get up, throw on some shorts and a tank top, then seek out a large cup of Kona coffee.
After my first sip it hits me. Today is our last full day here in Hawaii. I’m not ready for this to be over. I head out to the deck where I find Liam talking on the phone. I sit down with my coffee, waiting for him to finish.
“Alright, see you tomorrow.” Liam says into his cell.
As soon as he hangs up he comes over and gives me a perfect kiss. “Good Morning, Beautiful.” He tells me.
I smile. “Good Morning. I missed you when I woke up.”
“Sorry, love. I got a call and I didn’t want to wake you.” He tells me sweetly.
“So who are you seeing tomorrow?” I ask.
Liam grins. “Well I’m hoping that “we” are going to see the lads tomorrow. We need to meet in LA to do some finishing touches on the new album, and I’m hoping you’ll come with me.”
“I’d love to Liam. Let me just call my parents and let them know.”

While Liam takes a shower, I walk on the beach and call the hotel.
“Hi Agnes.”
“Lexi, sweetheart! How are you?”
“I’m wonderful Agnes. Are my parents there?”
“No sweetie, they went out for awhile.”
“Ok. Agnes, will you let them know that I’m going with Liam to LA?”
“Of course, dear. That sounds fun. How long will you be there?”
“I’m not sure yet. Liam actually wants me to go on tour with him also.”
“How exciting, Lexi. Why do you sound hesitant?”
“I want to be with Liam. I just feel bad relying on him financially. I love HIM Agnes, not his money.”
“Oh sweetie, you don’t think he knows that? Alexis, you should go. Use that time to write your book, once that’s published you’ll have plenty of money of your own.”
“Thanks for the support, Agnes. You know I miss you and your bad timing.”
She laughs. “Love you and give Liam a hug for me.”
“Love you too, Agnes. I will. Bye.”

Liam and I try to make the most of our last day here in Hawaii. We go into town for a nice lunch. Luckily the town is small, no one seems to recognize Liam. Back at the beach house we change into our suits and spend a good part of the day on the beach.
Playing in the ocean, racing from the tide was fun. However, the long romantic walk on the beach was my favorite. Liam’s hand firmly grasping mine, as though he’ll never let me go. Neither of us needing to say much, our eyes saying all that our hearts feel.
Once again my heart skips a beat when I think of how much my life has changed.
