Short Stories: Harry

The Note pt. 2 (Story 1)

"Well, we can go to my house," I told him. "My parents aren't home so they can't get mad," I smiled an evil smile and winked at him. I tugged on his arm in hopes of him getting up.
He smiled, and looked into my eyes. The green of his eyes were absolutely gorgeous - it was nothing compared to the beautiful colour of his soul. To the media, he was dangerous and dark, mysterious, almost. But to me, and anyone else close to him, it was very obvious that the media knew nothing.

Harry was a saint in my world. He had experienced the life of a pop star, yes, but he had not experienced many bad things throughout his life. Harry had not experienced the horrid scent of depression. He had not experienced how big of a toll something like depression could take on your soul. His soul had to be white, pure, if anything. Or a creme colour, very close to pure. He was the opposite of me, and I was surprised he hadn't noticed that yet. I guess I hide it well enough that he can't see the black soul I possess.

I concentrated hard on the colour of his eyes. I don't know what I was looking for, or if I was just savouring it, but I did know that I wouldn't always see that colour. Harry would leave again, like always. What he didn't know is that one time, he'll come back and I won't be there anymore. I'll be rotting in hell.

Harry raised his hand to my head and paused. "You are so beautiful," he told me. "I don't know how I'd ever live without you. I already have a hard enough time while on tour..." Harry whispered with pain in his eyes. His accent was one I hadn't heard in a very long time. It was oh so sexy... It just pulled me towards him more. I smiled softly and pulled him towards me.

Once again, our lips were connected. I pulled my hand through his curly hair and held on tighter. He wrapped his hands around my back and pulled me closer. His lips were so soft, so special to me. And Harry thought that he could never live without me...

I gasped and my knees buckled beneath me. "Aubrey!" Harry exclaimed. "What..!"

It took me a moment to recover. A dizzy spell prevented me from standing. I just laid there on the floor in bliss while he paced around looking extremely worried. He turned around and got on his knees beside me. "Aubs?" He asked.

"Hey," I whispered and smiled, still blissed in the moment. "You made me faint." Harry laughed and kissed me on the forehead.

"Are you dizzy, love?" He said in his deliciously raspy accent. I nodded before having to lie down again. "I told you that we need restraint."

"Oh, shut up moron." I playfully hit him and he laughed.

"Well, you're back to yourself, so I couldn't have done that much harm," Harry exclaimed. His earth-shattering smile once again spread over his British cheeks.

I shook my head as if to clear it of any fog, and tried to get up on my own. Harry helped me up. "The bell is going to ring soon. I need to get my stuff and leave before any teachers see me and ask what I'm doing," I told him quickly. "Stay here. Don't follow me, don't leave."

I slipped out of the gym and flicked the lights off. Students were back out in the halls, grabbing whatever they needed for their next classes from their lockers. I whizzed by, missing groups of students by only a few centimetres each time.

"Aubrey!" Ms. Lancaster yelled towards me. I turned around and look at her, asking her, "What?" with my eyes. "You look a little dizzy hun, are you okay?" She asked me. Of course she was worried. She was my Guidance Councillor.

"I'm okay Ms. L, but thank you for caring," I smiled nicely at her and went on my way. Whew, that was close, I thought. I ran up the stairs and got to my locker as fast as I could. I packed everything in my bag and headed back to the main floor again. People looked confused as I whizzed by.

Soon enough, I was very close to the gym. I bumped into Penny before I hit the door, not paying attention to my surroundings.

"Where are you going?" She asked me with concern in her eyes. I gave her a look that gave her all the answers. You know, that look where only best friends can understand? It's how females read each others' minds. "Seriously! In the middle of the day!" Penny scolded me.

"Its not like we're gonna do anything bad, Penny. We're just going to my place," I sighed. "My parents aren't home so I thought I'd take advantage of it."

"Okay, well remember to use protection. I'm not helping you raise the baby!" She winked at me but was still serious. I shoved her and gave her the death glare.

"I am not going to let that happen yet. He can wait," I told Penny. "I have to go..."

The bell rang and she ran off to her class after winking and waving at me.
I can't believe she thought we were going to have sex! I thought to myself.

I slipped in through the gym and grabbed Harry's hand without even looking to make sure it was him.

"Harry?"

"Yes, love?" He said raspily. I couldn't see him, but I knew he was smiling behind the darkness. Harry drew lines up and down my arm as I tugged him behind me.

"Let's go. Do you have a car?" I asked him, trying to stay focused on leaving school before doing anything crazy. "You are so distracting," I sighed.

"I do have a car out here. A small black one, fits four people and is quite fast. But, it's not going to be just me. I have my driver and security there as well," Harry frowned. "How exactly am I distracting?"

"Well, you're extremely warm against my cold skin, and you're drawing all over me. I feels quite nice."

Harry put his hands on my hips and pulled me in for a soft kiss. It lasted no longer than a few seconds, but it still was blissful. It felt as if every nerve in my body was living brighter than the sun. "Was that distracting?"

I poked him in the rib as he winked at me. "Take a guess, smartass. Can we go now? You're taking forever..."

"All right, all right; let's go," Harry exclaimed when I wouldn't stop poking him. I pushed open the door, and the sunlight momentarily blinded me. I was left disoriented from what was before me in reality.

That's when it hit me. All of the voices, asking so many questions that it sounded like a mix of disconnected words.

"Miss! Miss! What's your name!" A reporter asked me as I stumbled out the door. I turned around to look at Harry and he sighed.

"Cover your face, now! Don't let them see you!" He yelled at me over the crowd. More and more vans were pulling up, hoping to get a new shot of Harry. He handed me his beany and told me to put it on. "Don't worry, I'll guide you."

I turned around to face the crowd. A young girl grabbed my arm and tried to ask me something. When I looked closer at her, I recognized her as the one who had thrown the note at me earlier today. Was she the one who told everyone about Harry being here? Did she know that the H signed on the note stood for Harry?

I ignored the girl and took his hand. We ran towards his car. It was quite compact indeed. I had trouble getting into it with all the people around me.

"Drive! Drive!" Harry told the driver. "Don't let them see her, please. She doesn't deserve this."
"Where do you want me to go?" The driver asked. He looked to be in his late forties, early fifties at most. He had a hat on so it wasn't clear, but he seemed to be bald (or at least a little bit).
"My hotel, please. Quickly." Harry said to the driver. He fell backwards and let his head bounce off the headrest.

"Harry?" I asked quietly, hoping for privacy.

"You don't have to whisper. They-" he pointed to the front of the car "- are paid to be quiet. They won't tell anyone anything." He smiled at me, but I could tell he was still scared that the media would find me.

"What happens if they got a good picture of us? You look..." He placed a finger on my lips to calm me down.

"Hey, shh. It's all going to be okay. But, if the paparazzi got a good picture... You might have to hide for a while. I do not want them to ruin you. Don't let them get to you." Harry told me as tears pooled in my eyes. I did not want him to leave. I already had a hard enough time without him... Now this?

The car pulled up to a very expensive looking hotel. I lifted one eyebrow as if to ask him, "What?"

"You're going to get out at the back, darling. You need to put all of your hair in my beanie and cover your eyes. I don't think there will be many people there, but there's still a possibility and I'd like to play it safe," Harry told me. "But, I am going to need my beanie back. I'll give you some money and my hotel key - go to the bottom of the hotel and ask for directions to the gift shop. Buy a hat and two pairs of dark sunglasses as fast as you can. When you're done, go out the front of the hotel and walk to our place in the forest."

"Is that all, sir?" I jokingly asked him. He was surprised that I could joke around with the circumstances. "I know, I know. We could lose our privacy if the media finds out. If you would loosen up a bit but still keep your eye on the ball, maybe we could have fun doing this. Running, I mean," I told him, giggling in this odd time.

"Actually, that's not all," Harry told me with a straight face. I could tell that it was fake immediately, and wiggled my eyebrows. He burst out laughing in his deep accent. "Seriously. Just remember to keep your head down as you walk. There are still going to be people who might recognize you. Be safe, love," He continued on. He smiled a wry smile and leaned over to me. Harry planted his soft lips on my forehead and kissed me.

I put my hands in his hair and clenched onto his curls. I brought his face to mine and desperately kissed him. It was different than most of our affections; it had an aggressive curve on it. Harry had captivated my heart once again. I pulled his head closer to me, and the driver coughed. Was he telling us to stop? I really didn't care.

"Ahem. Harry," He sternly said. I gasped for air as Harry turned to look at him.

"Sorry, Dan. Can you blame me?" Harry said to him. What did he mean, 'Can you blame me?'. I guess I'll never know.

I leaned over to Harry and whispered in his ear. "His name is Dan?" He nodded and kissed me on the forehead again. "Bye, Harry."

"Stay safe, Love," He told me and frowned. I opened up the door, pulling down my borrowed beanie, and stepped out into the blazing sun.
