Finally
Ash’s POV
Today’s the day I finally get to see Leah again, I’ve really missed her. I haven’t seen her in 5 years and it feels a very long time because we were really close, but one day everything changed! I didn’t see her at lunch, in class and we stopped texting each other and I have no idea what happened.

It’s time, I can’t wait! I even have butterflies in my stomach, here I go I thought as I knocked on her door. Her mother opened the door and I started to get even more excited. “Hi, Mrs Watson” I said feeling a bit on my nerves. “Hii Ashton, I’ll go call Leah” “Leah, It’s time to go” Her mother yelled from the kitchen. “So, how are you” “Fine and you Mrs Watson?” I asked. “Ashton once again call me Anne, and I’m doing good.” “Sorry I forgot about that again.” I said and just then I saw Leah coming down the stairs and that’s when all the butterflies returned and I started to worry about what I am going to say and if my hair looks fine and my heart started to race and suddenly I realise that I’m staring at her and immediately removed my eyes from her as I can see that she is surprised, but not the good side of being surprised. Opened my mouth to say something but I couldn’t find any words to say. “Hii, Ashton” she said while planting a fake smile on her face and that hurt me most of all. “Hey, Leah…How are you?” I opened and finally found some words to speak. She took a while to reply. “Fine and you.” She finally said and before I could stop myself from saying my thoughts out loud I was already busy talking. “Awesome now that you’re here” I said, wanting to kick myself in the arse. She looked pissed off with me, “Let’s go” She said and I immediately said goodbye to her mother and walked out of the house, unsure if Leah’s behind me. I then jumped into the car and waited for Leah to exit the house.
Leah entered the car and looked at me. “What the fuck was that?” She asked. “Huh” I replied and being honest. She had a furious look in her eyes and from what I could tell is that she is hurt, but I couldn’t tell from what. “Well if you’re really so clueless, here’s what you did: you ruined our friendship to hang with that exchange student and you broke my heart and left me alone by myself to pick my life up again and start over without you! And then one morning you show up at my house to give me a lift to school AND then you asked me how I’m doing?! What’s wrong with you?” She yelled. And then only did I realise what I did to her and why she avoided me! And also what pain I caused her. “I,.I..” I couldn’t get out any words. “You what?!” she yelled again. “I didn’t know” I told her while tears were rolling down my cheeks.
"It's ok..I now know you didn't do it intentionally.. I'm really sorry for biting you're head off like that!" Leah said and I can see she is now on the verge of crying. "Let’s start over..."She said and I just give het a nod while I try to wipe my tears away."Hi Ash I haven't seen you in a long time how have you been?" she said "Fine and you, well it looks like you're doing good because you are BEAUTIFUL! And I really mean it!" I say before I could even think about stopping my big mouth and I can feel my cheeks turing a shade of pink and red."Thanks! You don't look to bad yourself." She replied and this time with her cheeks also turning a shade of red.
I then started the car and me moved out of the driveway. After a while I decided to go with my guts and my guts says: Take the chance! "So, do you want to have lunch after school?" I asked. She is taking her time to answer me and that is making me even more nervous. "I would like... Wait I have sport today so unfortunately I can't do today...I am REALLY sorry!" She would’ve said yes if she hadn’t had to do sport today…Well I hope so "It's ok..." I said "What sport do you play?" I asked and I’m quite on my nerves and I have no idea why. "Hockey" she replied giving me an idea. "Can I watch you practice?" "Sure If you like." She replied and I don’t know if I were hallucinating but I think I saw a smile appear on her beautiful face. The rest of the drive I kept my eyes locked on the road although I found it hard not to think about her.

When we arrived at school I could see her friends waiting for her. I stopped on my usual spot. When I saw her reaching to unbuckle her seatbelt I quickly reached out and covered her hand with mine. "I've missed you.” I said before I could even think. I really need to get my big mouth under control! "I've missed you too" she said as she looked into my eyes with wonder and warmth. I then slowly removed my hand from hers and rushed out of the car. “Thank god the child lock is still on!” I said to myself as I rushed around the car… I then helped her out of the car and walked her to the trunk. I opened the trunk and helped her collect her bags. "Oh, hell no! Not that..." she said and I immediately started to stress. "What's wrong? Was it something I said or did?" I asked her. "No, of course not!" she replied quickly. Leaving me relaxed once again. "It's just my friends" she giggled and directed me in their direction. I gotta say her giggle is the cutest thing I have ever heard. "Oh!" I replied and looked into her eyes. “You're really beautiful..." I’m starting to hate myself right now. "Thank you" she smiled. "Ugh, get a room you two!" one of her friends said “Ugh, please Jesy” she said and also being the reason for the smile on my face. “What I’m being honest” Jesy said “Don’t you think I know you by now?” “Nope” Jesy replied and let out a laugh. “Let’s go” Leah and I said simultaneously and it caused us to jump…
