Choices

Leah's POV

"We'll here I go again" I say to myself while I tie my hair into a pony.
Just then my mother called me and said my lift is here. I rushed down stairs just to find my ex-best friend Ashton standing in the kitchen with his hands in his pockets and his eyes locked on mine. I knew that spelled trouble in capital letters and in bold.
"Hii, Ashton" I said planting a fake smile on my face and making it recognisable. "Hey, Leah...How are you?" he asked me. I can't believe he has the guts to ask me that after what he done to me. 'I don't know probably good after you ruined our friendship and I lost myself! And then I had to get myself together on my own' I thought... "Fine and you" I said sarcastically. "Awesome now that your here!" He said.. What a jerk! He left me for her and now acts like it never happened? "Let’s go!" I said adding some attitude and kissing my mom goodbye after I grabbed a snack bar and some lunch.
"What the fuck was that?!" I asked him once both of us were in his car.. "Huh?!" "You know exactly what I'm talking about Ash!" as if he doesn't know that he broke my heart and ruined our friendship! "We'll if you’re really so clueless here's what you did: You ruined our friendship to hang with that exchange student and you broke my heart and left me alone by myself to pick my life up again and start over without you! And then one morning you show up at my house to give me a lift to school AND then you ask me how I'm doing?!, What's wrong with you?" I said and I know he can hear in my tone that I'm serious. "I..I,." he stuttered. "You what?" I interrupted him. "I didn't know" he said with tears rolling down his cheeks and this time I can tell by listening his tone that he didn't know what he did to me and that this is a HUGE surprise. Really Ash? Now you're making me feel bad! And I also feel like I could shoot myself because of shame!
"It's ok..I now know you didn't do it intentionally.. I'm really sorry for biting you're head off like that!" I blush and I realise that I am on the verge of crying.
"Lets start over..." I suggest. "Hi Ash I haven't seen you in a long time how have you been?" "Fine and you, well it looks like you're doing good because you are BEAUTIFUL! And I really mean it!" He says while his cheeks are turning a shade of pink and red. "Thanks! You don't look to bad yourself." I said while finding MY cheeks turning a darker shade of red!
Ash then started the car and we pulled out of my driveway. "So, do you want to have lunch after school?" Ash asked. I took a while to answer him because I was so excited"I would like... Wait I have sport today so unfortunately I can't do today...I am REALLY sorry!" I can't believe that today of all days I had sport, because it was freezing cold already and then I'm going to have to put on shorts to practice?! This is going to be a long day. "It's ok..." Ash replied interrupting my thinking and causing me to jump. "What sport do you play?" Ash asked. "Hockey" I replied proudly. "Can I watch you practice?" "Sure If you like." I replied and suddenly wanting to practice today. The rest of the car ride to school was silent, but the friendly type of silence because for the first time in a few years, I didn’t wanted to murder him.

When we arrived at school my friends were already waiting for me at our usual waiting spot. When the car came to a stop I reached to unbuckle my seatbelt when a hand covered mine, causing me to jump. "I've missed you" Ash said. Well it's a little too late for that and maybe if he didn't abandoned me to hang out with that exchange student than he wouldn't have to say that, but a part of me is actually happy about him missing me. "I've missed you too" I said while looking into his eyes that was locked on mine. He then slowly removed his hand and within a few seconds he was out of the car, with me still in it. I unbuckled my seatbelt and tried to open the door, but for some reason it didn't open until Ash opened it from the outside. He then helped me out of the car and I then realised he had the child lock switched ON! Ashton then helped to getting my bags from the car’s trunk. While he was helping me to getting my bags I could hear my friends cheering us on... "Oh, hell no! Not that..." I thought and kind of actually said it out loud by accident.
"What's wrong? Was it something I said or did?" Ash asked worryingly "No, of course not!" I replied quickly. "It's just my friends" I let out a giggle and directed him in the direction of my friends that are still busy cheering us up! "Oh!" He started to laugh and looked at me like none other boy has ever looked at me before. “You're really beautiful..." "Thank you" I smiled. "Ugh, get a room you two!" Jesy said. “Ugh, please Jesy” I laughed “What I’m being honest” “Don’t you think I know you by now?” “Nope” she said as she let out a giggle. “Let’s go” Ash and I said simultaneously and it caused us to jump… What’s next I wonder... reading each other’s minds? Well I certainly hope not!
