Love Is Where They Are

Chapter One

Hello. My name is Calla Maria Brennan. I could start with when Harry came into my life, but, that wouldn't be right, now would it? Every story must have an introduction. Well, this is my story. No one else's. And, this is not some sappy romance either. If life was a romance novel, we'd all end up with happily ever after's. But we don't.
Now, I know I must sound cynical, but I have a reason for my attitude. I am the way that I am for a reason. Sometimes, I wonder if it really happened. If a gorgeous boy like Harry really did fall for me. I'm terrified that I'll wake up, and realize that it was all some crazy dream, and my brother will storm in and beat the shit out of me, like he does every day. Or he did, at least.
But, excuse my dithering on. You're here for a story. Well, you're about to get one. So, fasten your seatbelts, because my story may have a happy ending, but I had to go through a lot of shit to get there. So, buckle up. You're in for one hell of a ride.

January 16th, 2015
"YOU BITCH! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I ran and hid in my bathroom. My brother, Adrian, was on a rampage again. He had had something bad happen at school, and when stuff happened at school, shit happened at home. I knew that he would keep looking for me until he found me and took his pent-up frustration out on my body. I still bore the burn marks and bruising from his last rage fest.
I had only God to thank for the fact that he had yet to take his rage out on me sexually. My parents were completely oblivious, and, in my mind, they didn't need to know. Adrian would just get angrier at me and start taking it out on other people. It was safer this way. That way, his anger came into the house, but never left with him.
I swallowed and made my way out of the bathroom. " Might as well get it over with.'' I thought to myself. I stepped into the hallway, and Adrian spotted me almost immediately. "You." he said menacingly, his hands clenched into fists at his side. I could feel myself shaking. He rushed at me with a roar of rage that brought me to my knees. He hit me again and again and again. Blow after blow after blow. You'd think I would have gotten used to it by now, but the pain is still excruciating as the day he first started to hit me.
After about fifteen minutes, he seemed to tire out and walked away, leaving me sobbing, and writhing in agony. I made my way to the front porch, where I could see the stars outside. "Oh God," I sobbed. "I know everything You do is in accordance with a bigger plan, but I'm so confused." I cried. "I feel like nobody loves me!" I cried. "God, PLEASE! Send someone who will love me, no matter what." I rocked back and forth on my heels, sobbing all the harder. "Please God, send someone for me to love, and who loves me back."
I was crying so hard by this point that I didn't notice someone walking up to me until I heard a voice. "Why are you crying?" the voice asked me. I looked up and saw a really handsome boy walking up the steps to the veranda. "Why are you crying?" he asked me again. I dried my eyes. "Who are you?" I asked, wincing with pain as I straightened my legs. The boy smiled kindly at me. "Did you answer my question with a question?" I could hear his distinct British accent as he came closer. I tried to smile, but failed. My wavy brown hair fell around my face, and I swept it away. When I did, I noticed that, even in the dark, that his eyes were a deep emerald green. I sighed. "It's none of your concern as to why I'm crying. Now, who are you?" I asked. The boy seemed taken aback by my sudden rudeness, and my heart softened. "I'm sorry I snapped at you, I'm just a bit out of sorts at the moment." The boy chuckled. "It's alright." I sighed. "Will you tell me your name?" The boy smiled. "Will you tell me yours?" I sighed. "My name's Calla." The boy smiled even wider. "Like the lily. It suits you." I could feel myself blushing. "Whatever. What's your name?" I asked. The boy held out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Harry. Harry Styles."

Notes

Oooooh, okay, so this was the first chapter or my new story, Love Is Where They Are. I hope you enjoy, and please subscribe if you like this story. I'll probably have the second chapter posted by tonight, but I'm not sure yet. I hope you enjoy this story, and if you have any questions or comments, please comment below. But, no hate, because I don't want any of that. This is a place where you can write without any criticism or fear of other people. I have seen hate posts before, and I don't want to be roped into more drama that I don't need. And, to those who read this, it means a lot. So, thank you. Comment and let me know what you think!
