Not Some Fairytale

Chapter 1

Paige's POV:

I hate people. Seriously, I don't know how people can be around others for long periods of time. School is more than enough time for me to know that people are morons. Seriously, how have they made it to their senior year.

I think about this every day. At least today is over, and I can finally get some piece and quiet. I do need to make a library run for a school project. It's funny how teachers are all about technology being the new thing, but still don't let us use websites for some reason.

Jade always just says they're old so technology frightens them. I think that seems legit.

I start my car, and drive to the library. It's not that far from school. Humming along to the radio, and tapping to the beat of each song, I drive. It's not a very exciting town, so there's not much to see.

Finally I arrive. I'm not like one of those people who absolutely hates the library. I do read for fun. My time is just so limited with school and sports and everything. That, and Netflix is tempting.

'Why are libraries always so cold' I wonder to myself, heading for the non fiction section. That's where all the fun is. I meander through the shelves, in search for books on Thomas Jefferson. Bet he was a partier.

Top shelf. Of course. Groaning, I trudge over to get a chair to stand on. The stubby legs I've been blessed with are absolutely no help to me what so ever. Dragging it back, I can finally reach.

I begin to grab the helpful ones. Then one gets jammed on the shelf because it really was too tall to begin with. Bracing my feet on the chair, I give a really hard pull while twisting it. It was a really good tug because it freed the book.

The bad part was it was the only thing keeping me up. The chair lurched backward with my weight, and I went down.

See if this was a story this would be where the handsome boy catches me, and we fall madly in love. Of course, it wasn't like that. I hit the floor with a loud crash, probably attracting the attention of anyone within a 5 mile radius.

I hear laughter, and approaching footsteps. "Graceful, aren't we?" Chuckles a voice above me. My eyes snap open. It is a boy. A really cute boy. DID I FALL INTO A FAIRYTALE?

I then realize I've been staring at him for a good minute now. "Yeah, well you know chairs," I reply. That's what you say? Smooth. No wonder you're single.

If this was a story, he'd be chivalrous, help me up, and carry my books. But of course, it's not. I pull myself up, and gather my things. "Well, I gotta go." I say awkwardly, and turn to leave. He doesn't stop me.

Ok, so I didn't fall into a fairytale. He's not really my type anyway.
