You Are My Best Friend

"Um, Tay...Harry is sleeping right now, and he's so tired that I hate to wake him. How about I have him call you back when he gets b...I mean up".

"Alright Skyler! Tell him I love him. Talk to you later." She ended the call.

God. I felt horrible, lying to her like that. But Harry was a big boy, and he needed to fess up himself. I went to bed.

I woke up at noon the next day. Harry was downstairs at the table, holding his head in his hands.

"Morning, Harry", I said. I walked by him and grabbed a bagel.

"Hi Skyler", he said. Then he lifted his head, and I saw his bloodshot eyes.

"Harry, you look like hell! What are you going to do? You've got a show in a few hours! You can't perform while you're hing over!", I said. I really was concerned for him.

"Dont worry. It wears off by showtime. Believe me, I know", he said groggily.

Then I got mad.
"Harry, you've done this before? Do you even understand what you're doing to yourself?", I said, trying hard not to raise my voice.

"Look, I'm used to it now. Besides, who the hell are you to tell me how to live my life?", he said. He slammed the door on his way out to the deck.

i walked out behind him.
"Look, Harry, I'm sorry. I was just worried about you. Oh, and Taylor wants you to call her when you can".

"It's all right. I shouldn't have snapped at you. I'll call Taylor right now", he replied, but with an icy tone. That coldness between us continue for the next week. I really regretted what I had said. I really liked having him as a friend.

One night, when we were done with our last Europe show,I was laying on my bed in the hotel. All of a sudden someone knocked on the door. I opened the door, and Harry was there, tears streaming down his face. Before I could say anything, he threw himself into my arms and sobbed. I couldnt help wondering what the heck was going on.
