It's Always Been You

Two years after Zayn proposed, we got married on location in Hawaii on the beach at sunset. The other 1D lads were his best men and Donyia was my maid of honor. It was a beautiful wedding and all our close friends and families were there to share our special day.[Wedding Pics: 1 2 3 4]

The reception was an all-out party. There was much dancing and Zayn even stepped up to the DJ’s table and was 'DJ Malik' for a while. It was a great time. Louis, Liam, Harry, and Niall all gave great, hilarious toasts with stories about Zayn and when they first met me, what they thought of me, and of us as a couple, along with their best wishes for our life together.

When we did the bouquet/garter tosses, Louis caught the garter and by pure coincidence Eleanor caught the bouquet! Hm…I think I see another wedding in the near future…

We cut the cake together and of course we did the traditional thing of cutting the first piece together and feeding each other a bite. However, it got a little messy afterwards. He grabbed a handful of the piece and smeared it on my face! It was on. The whole bridal and groom parties got in a cake fight. It was messy, but tasty.

When it was time for us to have our first dance as husband and wife, I was pretty anxious. Zayn wouldn’t tell me what the song was. When it started playing, it was a slow song but it was a country one. Not what I was expecting from him at all. But I listened to all of the lyrics and I cried as I realized how perfect it fit us. I later found out it was Still the One by Shania Twain.

After the wedding, we honeymooned at the Hawaiian Islands [Pix: 1 2 3] True paradise. We loved it there so much, we stayed for a whole month. We took in all the beaches with the scenery, palm trees, great weather, and amazing foods to try. Even a month didn’t seem like enough, but our families were really missing us so we thought it best to go back home.

About a year after the wedding, we found out that I was pregnant with a baby boy! We struggled trying to pick a name because all the boys were saying to name it after them and we didn’t want to hurt any of their feelings. Luckily, we went in one day for an ultrasound and we found the baby is now babies! We were having twins!! We couldn’t believe we were having twin boys. After much debate, we finally decided on Zayn Harold Malik and Niall William Malik.

Louis wasn’t that pleased, but even though we used the long version of Liam’s name for Niall’s middle name, it is Louis’ actual middle name. 2 years after that, I got pregnant again, but this time with a girl! To make Louis happier, we turned his name feminine and named her Louise Marie Malik. Not only are the lads happy, but I’m happy because my little girl has two older brothers to protect and counsel her. A luxury I never got to have.

The kids are all growing up and going through school and Zayn is here by my side for everything. He is not only a loving husband, but a devoted and caring father to our three angels and I couldn’t be married to anyone better. We’ve discovered the boys seem to have inherited Zayn’s beautiful singing voice and Louise has mine.

Mine is good, it’s just nothing compared to Zayn’s! We see a music career in each of their futures and we’ll be supportive all the way. It’s been a crazy journey since he left for X Factor over a decade ago, but it’s all been worth the ride and always will be as long as Mr. Zayn Malik Sr. is with me through it all.
