Everything Has Changed
*Sammi’s POV*
I’m so glad I’m giving Harry a chance. He really is sweet and cares a lot about me. He’s no Louis, but seeing as he doesn’t like me and he has Eleanor, I think it’s for the best that I forget about it and move on. Harry and I walk into the house holding hands and Zayn and Liam are just staring at me.
“What?”
“Nothing… um..Niall will be back soon with food.” Liam said.
“Okay awesome I’m starved. Has Louis gotten back yet?”
There was a little pause before Zayn said “Yeah…he’s up in his room. He got back a few minutes ago.”
“Oh okay. I’ll be right back, babe.” I said kissing Harry’s cheek before going upstairs.
I walk upstairs and knock on his door. “Who is it?” I heard muffled from inside the door.
“It’s Sammi.”
“Oh…just a sec.” he said. I heard lots of moving around and then his bathroom water running before he came to the door. His eyes looked a little red.
“Hey what’s up, boo boo?”
“Nothing..I was wondering where you were this morning. We all got up around 8:00 and you weren’t here.”
“Oh…I was just out getting some fresh air that’s all.”
“Oh..cool. Well I just wanted to tell you I have some news. We’re now both taken! I’m going out with Harry.”
“Oh that’s great. Congratulations, boo boo.”
I could tell he didn’t sound as happy as he was trying to make himself seem. But I didn’t question it. After all, we had kissed two nights ago and he was probably feeling really guilty about doing it, plus Eleanor not knowing.
“Well come downstairs, I think Niall is here with food. Gotta get down there before Niall eats it all!” Louis chuckled a little and we went downstairs.
“There you guys are! What took you so long up there?” Niall asked.
“Nothing, we were just talking.” I said sitting next to Harry. We all ate and Harry kept feeding me which I thought was really cute. I looked over at Louis and he was looking at Harry with just like…absolute hatred. What’s up with him today?
I guess Zayn noticed this. He suggested “Do you wanna go to the beach today? It’s perfect weather for it.”
“Sure!” everyone but Louis said.
“All right everyone get changed and ready to go!” Zayn said. We all headed upstairs but he pulled Louis aside.
*Louis’ POV*
We were all going upstairs to get ready for the beach when Zayn pulled me aside. I already knew what this was about.
“What?” I said annoyed.
“You know what you need to do today, right?”
“I’m not sure I follow.” I said confused.
“You have to tell Sammi how you feel. At the beach. It can’t get more romantic than that. Right now Liam is talking to her to find out if she likes you too. Once we know if she does, we’re going to take separate cars to the beach. With Harry and Sammi separated so we can tell Harry what’s going on.” Zayn said.
Liam came downstairs with a thumbs up..and also a bag of stuff. “Congrats, mate. She may be dating Harry but she definitely likes you.”
“All right commencing phase two!” Zayn says. Everyone else comes downstairs ready to go and Zayn explains what’s happening. Sammi and Harry look very confused, but go along with it. We got into our separate cars and headed toward the beach.
“What’s going on? Why are Sammi and I separated?” Harry asked.
“We have something we need to talk to you about. That she can’t hear.” Niall said.
“Well…what is it? What’s happening?”
“Look we know you don’t want to hear this, but….Sammi doesn’t really like you in that way.”
“Of course she does! She’s dating me, isn’t she?”
“Yeah but…not for the reason you think. Liam just talked to her before we left. She said that she really likes Louis, and has all her life. She’s wanted to tell him but never had the courage. And when she finally was going to tell him she found out about Eleanor. So she started dating you to forget about Louis and move on. Little did she know that Louis realized he likes her too and that he broke up with El to be with her.” Niall said.
“That’s the most beautiful love story I’ve ever heard.” Harry said tearing up. “Okay, you can have her, Louis. But you really have to woo her.”
“Oh we know…we have a little something planned.” Says Niall while Zayn holds up the bag. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. All the guys were behind me including Harry, on getting Sammi to be mine. I had no idea what the plan was, but they filled me in on the car ride to the beach. This will be so great if it works.
*Sammi’s POV*
“Liam I’m still really confused. Why won’t you tell me what’s going on?”
“Because you’ll find out in time, sweetheart.” He said keeping his eyes on the road, but smiling a bit.
“Does it have something to do with the guys? Or with Harry? Is Harry surprising me??! Aaaawh how sweet of him!”
“But what about Louis?” Liam asks.
“Liam you know I like him, but he has Eleanor and I want him to be happy with whoever he’s with. I know it’s never gonna happen with us, so it’s time to move on.”
I notice that we aren’t anywhere near the beach. We’re going the wrong way. “Liam…this isn’t the way to the beach.”
“I know, love. We’re going dress shopping. You’re wearing it tonight.”
“Ooooo! For my special night with Harry! Love it.” I say excited.
“Yeah sure…” Liam trails off. We arrive at the dress shop and I skip in when he says, “Pick whatever you want. I’m buying!”
I tried on multiple dresses for at least an hour. They also had jewelry, shoes and make up there! Liam must have waited awhile for me. He was asleep in his chair and he was in a tuxedo. I decide I’m ready and come out in this.
“Liam! Wake up, I’m ready. How do I look?” He wakes up and his eyes pop open when he sees me and I twirl around. “Is this okay?” I ask not sure if it was too much.
“Perfect.” He says with a smile. “Let’s go to the beach!”
We get in Liam’s car and head to the beach. It’s getting kind of dark now and the sun is going to set soon. I feel so beautiful and I hope Harry thinks so too. Whatever he has planned must be pretty good.
We pull up to the beach and in the distance by the shore, I see a group of guys who I assume are the others. As I get closer I see that they’re all in tuxedos and there’s light behind them. We get out of the car and walk over to find Harry standing between Zayn and Niall waiting for us. “Harry, what a delightful surprise.” I say waiting hopeful for my surprise.
“Oh it’s not mine.” Harry says. I’m confused…just then, the guys move aside to reveal Louis next to the most romantic setup I’ve ever seen!
“It’s mine.” he says with a slight smile. Everything looks gorgeous.
“This is amazing, Louis. …but what is it all for?” I ask surprised beyond belief.
“Sit down and we’ll talk about it.” The other guys leave making it just the two of us and this romantic dinner. “You look beautiful tonight.”
“Thank you…so what’s this about? What is all this for? You should be doing something like this for Eleanor, not me.”
“That’s what I want to talk to you about. See…this morning, I wasn’t just getting some fresh air. I went to El’s house. …and I broke up with her.” He said looking down.
“What?! But Louis, you love her!” He grabs my hand, looks deep into my eyes, and says this:
“I thought I did. But I was wrong. Sammi, it’s you that I love. I’ve always wanted to tell you, but I never knew how. I’ve loved you your whole life. When I went to audition for X Factor, I basically gave up hope after 2 years of us being apart that we would ever be together, so when I met El and kind of liked her, I decided to go out with her. Everything was fine with her until I came back home to see you. My old feelings came back. I was trying to push them away and remember I was with her now. But I just couldn’t help myself when you and Harry were getting so close, to feel jealous. And after we kissed, forget about it. El was a goner. No one and I mean no one, could ever take your place or make me as happy as you do. No one has more of my love than you do. I want to be with you and only you.”
I was in shock. I couldn’t believe my ears. The guy I’ve loved all my life has felt the same the whole time and I didn’t even know!? And now I feel even more stupid for dating Harry and trying to move on from Louis like he tried to move on from me by dating Eleanor.
“Wait…does Harry know all of this?”
“Yeah he also knows that you were only dating him to move on from me. But he’s not too offended. He understands the situation and is happy for us.”
“Good. …but there isn’t even an ‘us.’” Just then, Louis stands up after getting something from under the table.
“After I went to El’s, I got these for you.” he says handing me a bouquet of flowers and chocolates.
“Awh Lou…you shouldn’t have.”
He then pulled a little black box out of his pocket saying, “With these, I was planning on giving you this. To remind you that you’re my shining star…the brightest in the sky.” He put the ring on my finger and it took everything I had not to cry tears of happiness.
The boys popped out and said, “Sooooo are you a happy couple yet?!”
“Yes we are!” I said looking up at Louis smiling. He smiled back and we kissed. It was more magical than our first one during spin the bottle.
“Eeeeeew! Get a room!” Zayn said averting his eyes.
“Um…this is our dinner date, Zayn.” Louis said.
“Oh…well then let’s get outta here, boys!” The guys ran away while shouting back “We’re leaving one car with you. Have fun, kids!” We just laughed and walked along the shore hand in hand watching the most stunning sunset I had ever seen.
All of a sudden, Louis stopped walking, turned towards me, took one of my hands, and tilted my chin up with his other hand saying "I love you, boo boo." before kissing me with the sun on the horizon as our backdrop. This night couldn’t be any more perfect and I couldn’t be any happier than I am right now with the love of my life, who was finally mine.
