Love Changes
Chapter One
The school bell rang. Students rushed out the classroom for the school day was over. People bumping into one another shoving just to get out the building. "Alex!!!" someone calls a name, her nickname though. Alexandra Ryders, 18 in high school tall brown hair with streaks of blonde and hazel eyes. She turned around to see her two best friends, Alice and Jessie. I wait for them at the side. " there you are, we thought you left already." Jessie said.
I shook my head. "Not with all these people I would be surprised if we all got out if it was a fire." I told them we walked down the crowded hall together heading for the exit. They finally made it alive. They always walked to their favorite chill spot on Fridays. Lisa's Parlor, the eat ice cream shakes you can't even imagine. They ordered their usual and sat at their table. Of course they had their discussion of the day and how it went.
"Can you believe that Mr. Rivera is leaving the school??" Jessie told them
"Yah from what I heard he's getting fired." Alice said
"Hmm he's leaving and Tanya is transferring, something's funny about this." Alex said
Everyone knew something went down with Tanya and the English teacher it was so obvious but no one rlly said anything about it.
"So homecoming dance??" Alice said
"You in Alex? I mean ur nominated for queen u hav to go and ur only a senior once in high school so u shud make it the best year of ur life." Jessie said
" as long as I'm with you two I'm sure it will be a blast just lik the last three years." Alex said
"I cannot believe that in June we are officially out of high school and on to college!! Can someone scream hot college guys!" Alice said
"Someone remind Alice she has a boyfriend!" Alex joked
"But you don't..." Jessie said winking at her.
"I don't think it's the right time for a boyfriend now i mean we hav that essay to do and stuff." Alex said
"That's such bullshit I mean it's only half of October and we already hav essays to do." Jessie said
"It's out personal essay ur talking about urself in 500 words of course, it's for colleges u know." Alice said
"Yah it's pretty much selling urself to get them interested, without the sex." Alex said
"God the only person I would hav sex with right now is Niall Horan, he's so damn sexy!" Jessie said
The three of the burst into laughter from that nearly making Alex choke on her chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream shake. They talked for a while more and then parted ways to go home.
"Message me when you get home lovelies" Alice said
"Don't worry." Alex said
She walked down the block putting on her headphones and walking up the stairs for the train station calling her mom telling her she was on her way home. When she got home her little brother Kevin who was younger than her by two years was doing her homework and her mom and step-father, Josh were in the kitchen getting dinner ready and setting the table. She didn't hate Josh he was pretty nice guy and was really cool he nvr really tried to insert himself as their father. Alex's father left them when she was only 9. He found out that her mom was having an affair and he couldn't deal with it anymore and they got divorced when Alex found out it was her mothers fault why he left, she lost some respect for her and they aren't as close anymore
"Hi sweetie how was you day?" Alex's mother asked
She replied to her with a same old shrug. She went upstairs to her room which had posters on her wall from Katy Perry to tons of One Direction. She changed her clothes and came back down stairs still realizing her mom still whispering with Josh. Alex sat down and played her iPod while she did her homework, she could concertante more. Her mom came over to her and pulled one ear piece out.
"Ow! That hurt!" Alex screeched
"We'll if u heard me the first time I wouldn't have to come over and pull it out, now come on dinner is ready." Her mom said.
Alex placed her pen in her book and closed it and set it aside. She came down to the dinner table and sat down in her spot.
" so Alexandra anything new at school?" Josh asked
"Umm just hav a personal essay to do and then were gonna start working on the college apps." Alex said
"That's great, any college u hav in mind." Josh asked her only to hav her mom bump him in the arm and glaring at him. Alex didnt know what the fuck that was about but didn't care
"Umm well I hav a few that I'm gonna apply too and ill see what ill get." Alex said taking a bite into her food.
"Anything else you wanna share" her brother Mason said
Mason went to the same school as Alex so he knew things here and there
"No there's nothing." Alex told him
"Alex is nominated for HomeComing Queen!" Mason said
"Oh my!! Congrats!! Sweetie" her mom said giving her a hug
"Umm thanks I guess it's no big deal really I might not go to homecoming anyway." Alex said playing with her food
"What!! Y not when I was in high school...." Her mom began to say but was cut off
"This isn't about you mom! I know u for homecoming queen but I don't rly want to go I'm not big with the whole queen and king ruling shit anyways." Alex said
"What if u win, who's gonna take the crown." Mason said
"You can, and bring it home so I can flush it down the toilet." Alex said
"It's not all that bad, I wish I was nominated for home coming king it would have been cool being a popular kid in high school." Josh said
"You?? Weren't popular in high school..??" Alex said
"I wasn't" josh said
Alex found it hard to believe that Josh wasn't popular, he may be her step-father but he was hot! Like rlly hot and was shocked her mom got him. I mean her mom was drop dead gorgeous but u know...
After dinner was over Mason and Alex did the dishes and put everything away. Just before Alex was gonna upstairs to her room her mom called both of them to sit on the couch.
"Oh shit, another stupid family meeting." Mason said
"Watch ur language mister." His mom hissed
They both sat down and Josh and Lisa, their mom sat across from them.
"Now, we've hav been talking, Josh and I and we hav some news to tell you." Lisa said
"Oh my god!!! R u pregnant??" Mason said
"Oh hell no!! U better not be." Alex said
"No, no she's not pregnant." Josh said turning to her
"Are you?" He said
"No, I am not, it's something else." Lisa said
"Ok and what is it??" Alex said
" we hav a lot of memories here and things but it's been the same for yrs and I think it's time for a change and something new a new environment." Lisa said
"Ok get on with it." Mason said
"We're moving.." Josh said
"To England." Lisa said
"WHAT!!! ARE U KIDDING ME!! NO NO NO HELL NO IM NOT MOVING WHERE THE BRITS ARE!! NO I DON'T WANNA GO!! This is my home!! I hav my friends here my school everything is here!!" Alex said.
"Who cares what u want!" Mason said
"School already started!! It's my senior year!! U can't just pack up and move becuz u want too!! It's not fair!!" Alex said
"Life's not fair, I'm sorry Alexandra but its done we hav a lease on the house there and that's that." Lisa said
Alex ran up to her room tears filled through her eyes. She had no say in what she wanted, she was leaving her home, the place she lived in forever, leaving to a whole another country never to see anyone of her friends ever again.
