Chapter 14
Ashton’s (POV)
I was worried for Calum he looked so distraught and broken up. I haven’t known Phoebe that long but I can tell there was going to be something between us or at least I hoped there was going to be. The only thing I’ve noticed is her and Michael I don’t know if something is going on or not however e are going out tomorrow night, well that is if she can. I wonder how Kirsty is holding up she must be in shock watching your best friend getting hit by a car. Once Calum is there she should feel better. We walked in silence to where the police had directed us; I heard sniffs come from Calum every now and then. It must be horrible to loose someone close to you or even now there in pain, I haven’t so I don’t know.
“You didn’t have to come” Calum spoke “no it’s alright I wanted to come, couldn’t let you face this alone” I said giving him a warm smile. “What is everyone doing back at the party?” He asked after some silence “Oh Luke is shutting it down and I guess just waiting for news” he nodded. The sound of car engines and talking came into my ears and soon enough we sore the scene. Calum ran to Kirsty and hugged her tight, I stood there awkwardly. Very so awkwardly. “Are you okay” Calum said to Kirsty while placing lots of small kisses on her lips, “I’m fine, I’m fine” she answers. “Hey Ashton” she looks at me and smiles, “Hey” I say softly.
Calum and I went up to a police man holding a blue bag with a heel in and my jacket, my jacket. I don’t know why but seeing my jacket that I gave to her ripped and covered in blood made tears come to my eyes. “Erm, I’m Calum. Someone called me?” “Yes we did, and you are?” He says looking over at me; I looked up from the blue bag “Ashton, just a friend.” I sat down with Kirsty at a small table just outside Cathy’s opposite the crime scene while the police officer asked Calum some questions.
It was now 6:00 in the morning. Calum and Kirsty are snuggled up together sleeping while I’m sitting with my coffee watching my surroundings. So many people have come up to us saying we should go home and they would call us if anything happened but both Kirsty and Calum refused to leave, so I stayed as well. I spoke to Luke on the phone him, Michael, Georgia and Kiara are all waiting at the lake house and want us to call asap if anything happens. Michael seemed very keen to talk to her, like I said I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a hidden relationship or something.
I was staring into my coffee trying not to fall asleep when I realised something was happening in the woods opposite us, all the police and paramedics ran over. I got up and went to see what they were doing. I walked over but was held back by a police man, I was confused on what was happening. I heard people shouting, I couldn’t hear them clearly but it was things like “Quick” “We have lost enough time already.” That’s when I realised had they found Phoebe? I went on my tip toes to see if I could see anything but I couldn’t. I suddenly got pushed more back as did everyone else, that’s when I sore her. Paramedics where at every point of her body carrying the stretcher she was on but I could still see her face, it was scary.
Blood was what I could mainly see, just blood. Her brown hair was covered in it, her face, her dress, it was everywhere. She had something holding her head and neck I place and straps over her body as well. I tried to get pasted the people holding me back “Mate stay there, why don’t you go get your friends” the police man said. I remembered about Calum and Kirsty and ran back to them calling them names “Calum! Kirsty!” They woke up and instantly sore what was happening behind me, Calum jumped out his chair almost knocking Kirsty out and ran strait past me. Kirsty looked a bit pissed.
Calum’s (POV)
I woke up and heard Ashton shouting our names, when I woke up I sore what was happening behind him, I sore all the paramedics and the stretcher. They had found Phoebe I was so relived I just hope she was okay. I ran up ignoring that Kirsty hadn’t come to see what was happening and basically threw her off me, I didn’t really mean to but I needed to see Phoebe. I ran up and tried to get past the police men, “PHOEBE!” I shouted “PHOEBE!” I repeated again. They wouldn’t let me pass so I tried to break through them “Let me through” they were holding me back “Stop we can’t let you through” one said, he looked stressed and tired. I lost my temper and couldn’t help but punch him in the face; I really wanted to see her. “Calum!” Kirsty shouted, I had blood on my knuckles and he had blood on his face.
Two police men held me back and shouted at me to put my hands in the air. Fuck was I getting arrested? Fuck fuck fuck. I couldn’t help punching him, I lose my temper easily. They grabbed my hands and put handcuffs on me, I looked over at Kirsty who looked worried but angry and the same time, and I think Ashton was trying to hold a laugh in which not gonna lie made me laugh a bit. He led me to the back of the police car and I sat down. He slammed the door and went to talk to Kirsty and Ashton. How did I get myself into this shit, I just wanted to see my sister.
Kirsty’s (POV)
I can’t believe Calum actually punched and police officer! He’s going to get in so much trouble. But they found Phoebe I hope she’s okay, I really do. “One of you come with me and Calum, one of you can go in the ambulance with Phoebe” he said, I looked at Ashton. “I’ll go with Calum, you can go with Phoebe” I knew he wanted to go with her, I would see her soon enough. Hopefully. He gave me a smile and walked towards the ambulance as I walked towards the Police car. I sat in the front and didn’t talk to Calum I was mad with him, one for getting arrested and two for almost knocking me out when he stood up. We began to drive as I watched Ashton climb into the ambulance; I felt tears come to my eyes as I think of what might happen to her. I feel a tear fall down my cheek.
