No Control

I wake up from my nap all alone. I look around the room and see a wrapped box and a card on the table. I make my way over to read it.
“Hey Beautiful,
I have a special evening planned for you. In the box is something for you to wear. Someone will pick you up at 7:00 and bring you to me. I’ll miss you till then. I promise it will be a night we will never forget.
Love,
Liam”

I excitedly open the package to find a gorgeous red dress. I take a shower and am ready by 6:30. I anxiously walk from room to room wondering what Liam has planned.
The doorbell rings, it’s the caretaker’s wife. She explains that she will be driving me.
It’s dark out, but she appears to just be driving me somewhere on the property. In the distance I see some lights and as we zero in on them, I am absolutely speechless.
She stops the car, I get out and Liam walks towards me. I try to take it all in.
The adorable gazebo that I loved, is now lit up in a million white lights. It’s breathtaking, as is the man walking towards me. He’s wearing a perfect dark suit.
Liam takes my hand and leads me up to the gazebo. We stand in the middle of it and take each other in.
“Liz, you look amazing. Beautiful!”
“Liam, you look so handsome. And the gazebo, it’s incredible. Thank you.”
Liam smiles. “You’re welcome. I had a lot of help though.”
I wrap my arms around Liam’s neck and he bends down to kiss me.
“Liz, we’ve been friends for awhile now. Our mutual hurt had made us extremely close friends. We each knew what the other was going through. We took that friendship to another level. Telling ourselves it was just friends with benefits. I think deep down, that first night, I knew it was more. I just didn’t bring myself to acknowledge it. Now we both can finally admit to ourselves that it’s much more than that. It’s Amore Vero.”
I’m looking up into Liam’s sweet brown eyes. Happy tears are pooling in my own as he continues.
“I can’t pinpoint the exact moment it happened, however, I know without a doubt that it’s true.”
Liam puts one hand on my waist and the other in my hair, holding my neck.
“Liz, I’ve fallen in love with you.”
Liam leans in and kisses me, then he pulls back, looks in my eyes with tears barely contained in his own, and tells me.
“I love you.”
My tears spill over.
“Oh Liam, I’ve been so hurt before that I’d told myself never again. When I met you I knew I needed you in my life. I told myself you were just my friend, and then I told myself you were just my lover. All along I knew it was so much more. You are the one for me. My Per sempre. The one to heal me. So many times I’ve suppressed my true feelings for you. Not anymore! Liam James Payne, I love you! You are my Amore Vero, Per sempre.”
