Collision Course

The Shampoo to my Conditioner

Harry, Niall, Zayn and me all met up for dinner. A Friday off was a rarity so Louis had taken the chance to visit his fiancée, Eleanor. They had been together for five years and it was nice to see them still going strong.
“Harry, you look terrible.” Zayn said upon sitting at the table.
“He had a rough night.” I interjected.
“No. It’s not that. There is something up. You’re just off.” Niall said, agreeing with Zayn.
“I did have a rough night. Might have partied too much.” Harry said without his usual chipper voice inflections.
“But…” Niall prodded.
“I, ah,” he choked on his own words. Stumbling over them as if he was not sure how to verbalize what was happening in his head. “There was a girl.” He finally managed to articulate.
“You mean you actually met someone more then just a play thing?” Zayn was quite shocked.
“Well, not really. She kind of ran away.” Harry replied.
Niall busted out laughing prompting Harry to shoot him a death stare. “Sorry, Mate, It’s funny. You… scared off a girl. What in the world did you do to manage that? What did you say?”
“Nothing. I bought her a drink. Then went up to introduce myself. She stopped me and said something like I cant help her be a better person.” Harry seemed devastated; like a puppy at the pet store when all the siblings are gone.
“What did she look like?” I was curious to see if it was Maggie. Maybe I had been judging her too harshly.
“She was tall and had a dark bob and blue eyes.” Harry had obviously taken note since he even knew the color of her eyes.
“That describes half the girls in this city.” Zayn complained.
“I don’t know. There was something special about her. Like in the way she carried herself. It was like she knew that she was perfect just the way she was. And her smile lit up the room as she chatted her way through everyone, like she was everyone’s best friend.” Harry looked down at his empty glass as he remembered the events of last night.
I was not quite convinced either way of this girl being Maggie or not, however I decided not to even mention her. Maybe once all of this cools off I might introduce the two. Heck, if Allie and mine’s relationship continues down this path, there is going to be no avoiding the two meeting no mater how much I did not really want Mags meeting any of the boys. As much as I wanted to trust her, it was just hard.
“So, basically what happened is, after this girl ran away from you, you threw yourself on every girl and got wasted?” Niall asked, half expecting it to be true since it had been true so many times before.
“I wish I could say that happened. After she ran away, all I wanted to do was be along. So that is what I did, I went to so random pub and drank. Most of the night is a blur, though I do remember throwing a glass at the bartender and being kicked out. That was the last thing I remember before waking up in Liam’s spare room.” Harry recalled.
“You ended up at Liam’s?” Niall asked.
“Don’t ask me. Ask Liam seeing as he is the one with the memories.” Harry demanded.
“Yes, Harry ended up banging on my door around seven fifteen. I had been talking to Allie’s brother on Skype so she was the one who answered the door. You, my friend, partially squashed her as you fell into the door.” I stated.
“Sorry.” Harry mumbled, recognizably distraught over both his morning state and his mystery girl.
“You were talking to her brother. So it is meet the family stage?” Zayn was quite curious.
“I think it is. It has been a month, though it feels like longer in a good way. My parents want to meet her so we are going to visit next week. And I had talked to Grif on the phone before, but he took the time this morning to be the big brother and grill me with plenty of questions.” I had been quite happy to answer Grif’s questions that morning hoping that it would make things easier in our relationship if we had his blessing. From what I could tell, Grif was the most important person in her life, next to me, and he was the one she was more worried about.
Niall’s mouth was wide open as were Harry’s and Zayn’s. Zayn managed to articulate his words and said, “You are taking her to meet your parents? That is huge. It took you almost five months before you introduced Danielle to them. Allie must be something special.”
“She is special.” Harry was able to mumble before I answered.
“Special doesn’t come close to it. She is the shampoo to my conditioner, the peanut butter to my jelly, since she is American.” I knew that I was gushing, but these boys were my brothers, and as much as I had hated the idea of sharing Allie with them it came down to that. In my mind, Allie was becoming family, possibly more then just family, and that meant she needed to be involved with all the boys.
“Just tell us already. You have fallen for her. We can all see it, so stop trying to hide it because we know you better then you know yourself.” Niall blurted out.
“I have fallen for her, and hard. I am madly, deeply, passionately in love with Allie.” I admitted to the whole table. I had just spilled m guts, but upon looking at Zayn I noticed he was on the phone. “What in the bloody hell are you doing on your phone in a time like this?” I spat.
“Louis, you owe me twenty!” Zayn said into the phone, holding up a finger as a signal that he was busy. “Yeah, mate, he admitted everything. He said he loved her, and it was before the whole month was up. So pay up, my friend, but I win this one.”
We could all hear Louis cussing on the other side of the phone. Once he quieted down, Zayn handed me the phone. “Louis would like a word.”
“Hi Lou.” I answered.
“So, when you and Allie get married can I be the best man.” Was the first thing out of his mouth, stimulating a laugh out of me.

The rest of the day was quite boring. I had some alone time in the house with Loki. He had been cooped up in the apartment for a few days so I took the time to give him a nice long walk. Somewhere along the way, a group of girls formed around me. Paul was nice enough to come over and rescue me, being the big protective father the he was.
“Liam, how are things going with you and Allie?” He asked as he met up with me in Hyde Park.
“They are going well, thanks.”
“Look, I know you like this girl. But with the tour just three weeks away, you need to be careful.” I know he was saying everything since he had watched the band grow and he cared for us. But sometimes, I wish I could just tell him to shut it. “Press at this time is critical, and you know how your fans can get. They are very possessive over all of you. Maybe you should take a brief break and only go solo to dinners and parties.”
“Don’t ask me that.” I exclaimed. I was going into panic mode. How could I not be with Allie? How could I even think of being solo when I wanted to be by her constantly?
“Is it that serious already?” Paul inquired, needing to know professionally but probably also on a personal level.
“Yes.”
“I see. Look Liam, I am not asking you to stop seeing her; I actually quite like her. The way she interacts with you and with the rest of the boys is quite refreshing. What I am asking you to do it to let it seem that things are cooling off to the press.” Paul expressed.
“I am listening. What are you asking?”
“For one, no more pictures of her coming in or going out of your building.” Paul stated.
“I didn’t realize there were pictures.”
“Your fans are quite observant, and with social media, there is instant gratification.” Paul said. “Secondly, she can’t come to rehearsals again. Or if she does, she needs to be escorted the back way with a body guard so that there is no one to see her.”
“Fair enough.” I murmured.
“Lastly, I need you to be a little less friendly in public. No more pictures of you two holding hands or kissing if you do go out in public.” Paul requested.
“I will do the best I can, but honestly, I don’t know how well I am going to do on that last one. It is hard not touching her when she is near.” I stated honestly.
“We have all had that young love, but you don’t have the luxury of it. You are an internationally recognized pop star. Privacy is something you gave up the moment Simon signed you.” Paul stated directly.
“Thanks for the talk, Paul. I think I am going to head home now.” I said before leaving him behind. I took off at a run with Loki at my side. I kept up a good pace until I arrived back home.
After a quick shower to rinse off the sweat that had formed during my enjoyable run, I shot Allie a quick text before leaving the house and jumping in to the Audi and heading out.
