ZAYN’S POV
“Hey did you hear the big news.” Said Niall.
“I doubt I even want to.” I said under my breath.
“They are having this thing where a guy is paired with a girl and then they go into a ring where they fight until one is killed.” Said Niall.
“That is completely ridiculous.” I mumbled.
Niall nodded as he walked off. I stood there thinking of these fights. Would they help anything? They wanted the human race to fail. So the mayor could say that us humans were nothing but helpless. He wanted us to sound like dumbasses. He was one himself.
FELICITY’S POV
“Until one is dead.” Said my mom.
The words stung me as I looked down at the floor in doubt. Why would dad do such a thing? At least he didn’t catch me in the hunting grounds or else I would have been dead. Hunting was my hobby. Why should he take that away from me? I had a lot of things I wanted to tell him. That boy was the best thing that had ever happened to me. He was the only functional male in my life.
ZAYN’S POV
I walked through the trees. My bow was tight in my hands. Arrows were hooked onto my back as I heard a noise. I quickly whipped up my bow and looked around on high alert. No one was around. Up in the trees was only birds. Calm down.
FELICITY’S POV
My mom put my hair in a tangled braid down my neck. I wore a blue sundress with some black flats. I lightly added some blue eyeshadow and mascara. Then some settle pink lipgloss. I looked in the mirror as my mother stood behind me. “You look pretty.” She said as she sat her hand on my shoulder.
It took us 10 minutes to walk over to the ceremony. My dad of course was the host. Elizabeth came running up to me.
“Wow look how good you look girl.” She said with a cheeky grin.
“Look at you.” I said, giving her a smile back. “I wonder who I will get!” I said looking up at the platform.
“Hopefully he is sexy.” She said.
“Ummm I think all men are sexy.” I gave her a push in the shoulder.
We quickly got seated as my dad went up to the platform:
You are all gathered here today for the new games, THE CHANGE GAMES. This is where there is one survivor and one death. You should not be scared because you will have 2 weeks to practice skills with bows and guns. I now will reveal the results of you and your partners.
