Change Me
Chapter 3
Harry grabbed Elena’s wrist, pulling her in the direction of the girl’s dorm house. She wanted to say something but didn’t, she wanted to accommodate the boy’s needs.
“Harry, you can’t go in the girl’s dorm.” Elena muttered. Harry’s head snapped round, his signature smirk plastered across his face.
“Watch me.” He growled, pulling her in close, their bodies touching. His hand slid down her back, reaching her bum. Her breathing quickened as she looked up at Harry who was smirking, both hands now cupping her bum. In one swift movement, he pulled the keys out from her back pocket and pulled away without hesitation, making his way to the main door.
Elena felt flustered, used. She straightened out her jumper and leggings, regaining her composure and quickly following Harry. He had already opened the door and was walking through the halls.
“Which way?” He asked, turning around and looking her in the eyes.
“L-Left.” She stuttered. Harry turned and walked down the corridors. “Room 314.” She squeaked as he paced down the halls, stopping at her dorm room. Slipping the key in, he opened the room. Elena found herself jogging to the door, hoping he hadn’t touched anything. Instead, she found him sat on her bed, eyeing up the room.
“Get the keys.” He states, a rude tone to his voice. Even so, Elena complies, searching through her drawer, pulling out the keys and handing them to Harry. She didn’t know why she was doing this, she could get into trouble. She was stealing a car. Soon after realising this, she snatched them out of Harry’s hand and he looked at her with a confused expression.
“I can’t do this, we’re stealing a car. It’s illegal.” She shakes, looking at the ceiling.
“It’s only stealing if you never give it back. Plus, he’s your boyfriend.” Harry smirks, walking over to her. Their bodies were close and Elena felt the heat rising to her cheeks as his hand came up to her face, stroking her cheek with his thumb. He tilted her head up, looking into her eyes. “So really, it shouldn’t be a problem, should it?”
“N-No.” Elena found herself say. She had no control over herself with Harry; he knew this and loved it.
“Good.” He smirks, taking the keys from her hand and walking out of the room.
“Harry, wait!” She almost yells. He turns around and sees her running up to him. “You don’t know your way round.” She breathes.
“Well, I wasn’t planning on going alone.” He states. “C’mon.” He grabs hold of her wrist, pulling her out of the building.

Climbing into the car, Elena couldn’t help but feel nervous. She looked over at the curly-haired beauty, his brows furrowed as he started the car. He slings his arm over her chair, turning around and backing out of the drive. Elena found herself looking at his tense forearms, how they were so well-built and toned.
“So how do we get out of here?” Harry asks, driving down the road.
“There isn’t a town for miles.” Elena sighs, looking over at him, his eyes focused on the road.
“Then what was the point in me bringing you if you don’t know where we’re going?” He asks, his voice rising. His temper was clearly wearing thin, frustration clear in his voice.
“I-I…” Elena trails off, looking out of the window. He treated her like shit but she still wanted to impress him, show him kindness. Suddenly, there is a huge bump and the car comes to a halt. “Why did you stop?!” She asks, her head darting over to look at Harry.
“I didn’t.” He states, swinging open the door and getting out. He makes his way round the back of the car, Elena watching intently through the rear-view mirror. “FUCK!” Harry yells, storming round to Elena’s side of the car and pulling the door open. “Out.” He states. Elena is confused but she quickly replies and hops out of the car, Harry slamming the door behind her.
“Why are we getting out?” She asks quietly, afraid to set Harry off.
“The car is stuck so we’re going to push it.” He states, moving round to the back of the car.
“Harry, I can’t-“
“Stop fucking complaining and push the car.” He says through gritted teeth. Elena was taken aback by his harsh tone but she still complied to his demands anyway.

About 10 minutes pass. 10 minutes of Harry and Elena trying -and failing- to push the car out of the ditch.
“I give up.” Harry huffs, throwing his arms into the air. He was tired and fed up. Elena tried to move away from the car, but she was stuck. Her jumper got stuck in the back tire somehow.
“Harry?” She calls, hoping he was in a better mood than before.
“Yeah?” His head pops round the vehicle.
“I’m stuck.” She whines, pulling at the jumper, tearing the fabric. “Shit.” She mutters, looking at the gaping hole in her jumper. Harry starts laughing, looking at the girl pouting.
“You’re so difficult.” He chuckles, making his way over to the blonde. He tries to pull the jumper out of the tire but the ends in nearly half of it being ripped off.
“Harryyyyyy.” She yelps, looking at the destroyed material.
“Looks like we’re gonna have to stay here then.” Harry states, leaning against the car, a smirk playing on his lips. Elena’s eyes widen, she couldn’t be late back at school. She was head girl, she had to set an example (says the girl who just practically stole a car).
“No! We have to get back!” She panics, frantically pulling at her clothing. She manages to free herself from the car, leaving a huge tear all the way down the front of her jumper. Harry looks her up and down, the item of clothing exposing a little too much of her chest. He smirks and licks his lips, Elena then realising what she had done to attract Harry’s attention. She quickly covered her exposed chest, earning a deep chuckle off Harry. He walks over to her, removing his jacket.
“Arms up.” He states. Elena looks confused but lifts up her arms anyway. Harry pulls the jumper over her head, tucking it under his arm before handing her his jacket. His eyes locked onto her chest and Elena rushed to put the jacket on, zipping it up immediately. “That looks ridiculous on you.” He states, locking the car and walking down the road. Elena jogs to catch up to him, trying to keep up with his pace but finding it impossible.
“Harry, please slow down.” She whimpers for behind him.
“No.” He mutters, keeping up his quick pace. Elena stops, fed up of his attitude. Harry notices the footstep behind him have ceased and he turns around, seeing Elena with her arms crossed and a pissed-off look on her face.
“What is wrong with you?!” She asks, venom laced in her tone.
“Fucking hell, just come on!” Harry yells, running his hands through his hair.
“No.” Harry groans, walking over to the stubborn blonde. “I’m not moving until you tell me why you’re being so cold with me.”
“I’m like this with everyone, love. Don’t take it personally.” He smirks, looking down at her.
“I don’t get you. You’re really nice one minute then you’re a complete arse hole the next. You’re mood swings are giving me whiplash.” She states, her expression stern.
“Why do you even care?! I’m just the random fuck-up you have to baby sit.” He growls, his eyes cold. Elena couldn’t think of a reason why she cared. Why did she care? Why did she care so dearly for someone who couldn’t care less about her?
“I-I don’t know.” She stutters, looking up at him. Her eyes started to tear up. She hated being treated like this, treated like absolute shit when she was trying so hard with him. A tear slips down her cheek and she looks away, not wanting Harry to make a comment about how she needed to shut up and stop crying.
“Shit, Elena. I didn’t mean to make you cry.” Harry says, his expression softening. He then does something out of the blue, pulling her in for a hug. Elena is shocked by his sudden gesture but she wraps her arms round his waist, not wanting to waste the time when Harry was being sweet to her. “I’m so sorry.” He whispers into her hair as she cries into his shirt. He strokes her hair, soothing her. “Shhhhh.” He whispers into her ear, sending shivers down her spine. They stood like this for a good 10 minutes before Harry pulled away, much to Elena’s dismay. “Are you okay?” Harry asks, scanning her face, concern washed over his perfect features. He hated seeing her like this, he didn’t mean to make her cry, he just didn’t want her to like him.
“I’m fine. T-Thank you.” She smiles weakly, looking up at him. He smiles back at her, reaching his arm out for her to take. She looks up at him confused, hesitantly placing her hand in his, their fingers entwining. Looking down at their hands gave Elena butterflies in her stomach; she looked up at Harry whose gaze was on their interlocked hands. He looks up to see her staring at him, he squeezes her hand and she snaps back into reality, blushing at the fact that she had been caught staring at Harry again. Harry begins walking, his pace a lot slower than before, giving Elena the chance to keep up.
“Tell me about yourself.” Harry says, looking down at the blonde.
“Well, there isn’t much to tell.” She chuckles. “I have a little brother called Sam, he’s only 9. He lives with my father since my parents split up after my mother had an affair with a man from her work a couple of years back.” Elena croaks, her voice breaking. A fresh set of tears prick her eyes and Harry stops in his tracks. Elena looks back at him, her lips slightly parted as the salt water runs onto her lips.
Harry suddenly pulls her into him, his lips smashing to hers. Elena is shocked at the sudden contact but finds herself kissing him back almost immediately. Her thoughts of Chase were pushed to the back of her mind as she wraps her arms around his neck, tugging on his curls. His arms find her waist, pulling her closer to him as his lips move in sync with hers. One of his hands then moved to her cheek, cupping it and wiping away the tears. He pulled back, breathlessly, looking into her eyes.
“I don’t like seeing you cry.” He murmurs, his forehead resting on hers. He then laced his fingers with hers, pulling her gently along.

They walked in silence, hand in hand, both thinking about the kiss. Elena couldn’t take her mind off Harry. The way his lips fit hers, the eruption of butterflies in her stomach, his hand on her cheek, comforting her. Her thoughts then drifted to her boyfriend.
“Chase is going to kill me.” She whispers, a lump forming in her throat.
“You stole his car, so what?” Harry smirks.
“It’s not just that, Harry. I kissed you.” She muters, her voice quietening towards the end.
“So? It was only a kiss.” Harry chuckles, his eyes still focused on the road in front of him. Elena felt like she had just been punched in the stomach. She’d just cheated on her boyfriend with a guy who didn’t give a shit about her.
“Haha, yeah. You’re right.” She laughs fakely. His words still echoing in her head.
So? It was only a kiss.
He was right, it was only a kiss. But to Elena, it felt like much more.
