Prologue

Harry was sat in an office. An old, run-down office. The office of the collages’ chancellor about his behaviour… Again. Mrs. Thompson was an elderly lady, in her mid-50’s, early 60’s. Her body was sickly thin and she almost always wore grey pant-suits. Her grey hair was pinned back into a sleek bun and her make-up was done to precision. The woman was droning on about how he should act, what he should do, the usual. You see, Harry was here a lot. Getting the same lectures about how he was wasting his education away, how he was ruining the slim chances he had to do something significant. Harry’s mind was far away, thinking about the brunette from yesterday. Was it Addy? Libby? Who cares? She was just another shag and a very good one at that. Whilst Harry was day dreaming about the occurrences of last night, the chancellor was getting impatient, knowing Harry was ignoring her.

“Mr. Styles, I have received a number of complaints about your behaviour around campus. You hardly attend your classes, you get drunk every weekend, you toy around with girls and frankly, I’m sick of it. I’ve had a talk with your parents and they share the same concern as me.” Her gaze locked on Harry’s as he rolls his eyes.

“And what would their concern be?” He smirks, challenging the older woman.

“Their concern is you, Mr. Styles. Your grades are low and your attendance is poor. There are hundreds of people that would kill for a place at this college and you’re treating it like a joke.” She says firmly, sitting down at her desk and re-adjusting her glasses. Harry just chuckles at the comment.

“I like to have fun, is that such a crime?” He says innocently, a mischievous glint playing in his eye.

“Well, since you think this is all a joke, why don’t you listen up? I’ve had a long word with your parents and they don’t seem to be too pleased with your behaviour, they agree with me and my decision.” She retrieves a paper from under her desk, sorting it out and peering at Harry.

“And what is this decision?” Harry asks, cockily.

“Your parent and I have come to the decision of sending you to St. Michael’s boarding school in England. You will be transferred there on Thursday, you have 3 days to pack up and say goodbye to your friends. I really tried to get through to you, Mr. Styles, but you refused to come to your senses. I hope this will teach you a lesson.” She says, her bony fingers tapping on the desk. Harry’s lips part, his breath quickens. Surely she can’t be serious? She can’t send him to England, can she?

“Y-You can’t do t-that.” Harry stutters, his body going numb. He can’t leave his friends, his family; everything he has is in America. He grew up in England, moving to America when he was 15. He was 19 now but his English accent still rang through.

“I can and I have. You need to take a look around you, Mr. Styles. You may seem like the ‘It’ boy now but in a couple of years when everyone has got jobs, what will you be left with? Nothing.” She gets up from her seat, making her way over to the door and opening it. “That is all, Mr. Styles.”
