Fast, Fierce, and Feisty

I was currently sitting in a cozy little office at the back of Alice’s bakery. Alice is the owner and she is around 60 years old. She was a nice woman who offered me sweets and tea as soon as she saw me and then lead me to the office which is located in the way back room.

“You have an amazing job history. You clearly love children and baking.” She smiles at me sweetly.
“Thank you Mam’ I loved working at the daycare down the street it was good pass time for when i wasn’t playing soccer.” I smile back
“Oh thats amazing. You know what...You have the job.” She tells me standing up slowly
“Oh! Yes! thank you.” I say excitedly and she laughs again leading me out
“Your welcome dear. I’ll email you a schedule for next week tonight” She tells me and I nod
“Okay thats cool. I’ll see you soon Mrs.Watson” I say
“Oh dear call me Alice. I’ll see you” She ships me off and I call Chase immediately
“”Hello?” He answers
“”I got the bakery job!” I yell into the phone and he cheers with me on the end
“Yay for you! Are you headed to the Cafe now?” he questions
“Yeah, I’m walking there now. I’ll be there in about 6 minutes. Are you headed there?” I ask
“yeah, I told you i’d come for the audition. Babe I see you.” He mumbles and I turn my head and smile seeing Chase’s car pulling up to the curb. I hang up and climb in kissing his cheek
“Hi.” i smile
“Hello you nervous?” He asks
“Yes. I’m singing alone. And i heard there is a LOT of people from school coming trying to get the same job.” I frown
“You will blow them away.” He smiles.
I blush and he places his hand on my knee as we pull up. I get out of the car wordlessly and hurry to Chase’s side nervously pulling his hand into mine. He chuckles and pulls me into his side reassuringly.
When we walk in I freeze at the door, no not out of complete terror, because the room was so full there was no room to actually get inside fully.
“Whoa.” Chase mumbles
“Oh my god I’m gonna be sick.” I cry putting my head into Chase’s hard chest.
“It’s okay babe..Let cheak you in.” he says pulling me through the crowd.
“Okay” I say quietly. My heart is racing and people stare as we push through the loud teenagers.
“Hi im Chase and this is Esmee. We are cheaking her in when should she be ready?” Chase asks the girl across the counter
“Esmee Anton? Oh!” The girl hands me a number sticker thingy “You will be on the stage after about 3 more people. We will call you up on the intercom you wont miss it.” She chirps and I smile at her, she is so sweet.
“thank you.”I tell her and Chase pulls me to the back where nobody was to rehearse
“What song are you singing?” Chase asks
“I’m singing How to be a Heartbreaker, And im going to warm up first” I tell him
“I know” He sits down in nearby chair and I start warming up. Chase laughs at a few part and I stop rolling my eyes. I go through the song and Chase stares in awe.
“You’re not a heartbreaker” he laughs and pulls me into his chest
I giggle and smile up at him pressing my lips to his,
“Esmee Anton You are needed at the stage!” A perky voice calls over an intercom
I pull awake and grab my water downing some of it while walking to the stage, Chase is holding my hand swinging it lightly
“Hi!!” I say into the mic when I’m handed it.
“hello Hunny, What will you be singing?” A man asks
“How to be a HeartBreaker” I smile and he nods. The song starts to play and I begin,
“Rule number one is that you gotta have fun, but baby when you’re done- you gotta be the first to run,” I sing
My heart is pounding in my chest throughout the whole song. When I am done everyone cheers like crazy and I blush
“That was an amazing performance doll!” the man cheers and i fiddle with my fingures
“Thank you” I smile
“You definitely have the job-” he smiles and the whole room shakes with groans and some cheers.
“-I’ll email you Ms. Anton.” He smiles and I cheer running into Chase’s arms hugging him
“”Ahh!” I squeal exited
“You did great Es.” he smiles kissing me softly
“thank you.” I say
