Welcome Home
Chapter 3
I had the best birthday ever. Not only do I have tickets to their concert, but I'm meeting One Direction. One freaking Direction! I still can't even believe it myself.
As I step into the shower the morning after my birthday, I let the warm, soothing water run down my body. The concert is this Frday, and even though its Wednsday, so it's only two days away, it still feels like forever. After the concert on Friday, Sarah and I are staying in a hotel, then coming home saturday. I can't even contain how excited I am.
I get out of the shower and dry myself off slowly. I pick out an outfit that consists of a red crop top and a black skater skirt. I add tall boots and a gold necklace. I apply some foundation, mascara, and eye shadow to my face. I gather my school supplies and head out.
"Bye Aunt Carrie." I yell as I step outside into the fresh spring air. I get into my little convertible and drive off to pick up Sarah.
Since Sarah doesn't have a car, I drive her every morning. I don't mind, it's actually on the way, and I would probably do anything if Sarah asked me to. She also refuses to take the bus.
Sarah walks out in black leggings, tan ugg boots, and a large white sweater. Her long brown curls fall to her waist. I notice two starbucks cup full of frappuchinos in her hands.
"This is why I love you." I tell her as she gets in the car. I grad my cup, knowing its mine because Sarah knows my favorite drink.
"Ahh" I say as I take a sip of the delicious drink.
"OMG" Sarah squels from the passenger seat. She is holding her phone reading something.
"What?" I say annoyed because Sarah gets excited over the most ridiculous things.
"Zayn just tweeted 'For anyone that doesn't have a valentine, I will yours this Valentines day' He is so sweet!" She tells me.
"Oh my god I have to check!" I scream. I reach for my phone, but Sarah slaps my hand.
"No using your phone while driving, that's illegal." She says with a smirk at my disappointed face.
"Bitch." I mumble. I just wanna see the freaking tweet.
We pull into the parking lot. It's pretty full, but I find a spot close enough so that I don't have to walk as far in my heels.
As I'm about to reach the door, I feel a hand grab my shoulder. I whip around as fast as I can.
"What the hell!" I snap. Sarah turns around too. As soon as I meet his eyes, mine fill with tears.
"Josh..?" I say confused. I'm confused because Josh is in college, so I'm not sure why he is here. Josh is my ex-boyfriend. I dated him for almost two years. It started my sophomore year and ended this past summer.
I texted him one day asking if he wanted to hang out at the beach. He said he couldn't because he had to go to work all day. I was one with it, I just called Sarah.
So later that day I was at the beach with Sarah. We were tanning, and decided to go get some ice cream from a local shop. We drive over to it and ordered our ice cream. As we were walking back to my car, I noticed Josh getting out of his car. A girl followed behind him.
As I was about to call out his name, he pushed the girl up against the side of the building, and kissed her. He had his hands all over her, and she was just stiff against the wall. He had his hands in her pants, and that's when she shoved him. Then he noticed me. The next thing I knew, Sarah was screaming at him, and then she slapped him so hard he fell to the ground.
The girl was crying, and told us he was forcing her into everything. She didn't even know he had a girlfriend. I broke up with him later that day. I have seen him a few times since then. He always asked to come back to me, that he was sorry. But I will never forgive him, not after what he did.
"Destiny, can we talk?" He asked. He still had a tight grip on my wrist, and my body was stiff.
"Let her go, now." Sarah said sternly. He looked down at his hand around my wrist, and released me quickly. I'm pretty sure he's terrified of Sarah, for all the right reasons.
Please Destiny, I just wanna talk baby" He said. He looked in my eyes with a sad look, but I felt nothing.
"No. Don't ver call me that again. I'm not talking to you. Not now, not ever. You don't deserve my forgiveness, you bastard." I say, hatred in my eyes. I whip around and storm into the building. I headed straight for the bathroom to check my makeup due to my stupid tears. I shouldn't cry over him. He doesn't deserve it.
Sarah walked in a few secends later.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine." I told her. But I wasn't really. I wanted Josh out of my life. I have the "I'm fine, really" look, and we walked out together to go to class.
When lunch rolled around. I was feeling better from the whole situation. I say at the table that consistsd of seven people including myself. It was me, Sarah, and five others. Taylor and Tyler were twins, and they were juniors. Maggie, John, and Kristina were seniors. Kristina was the one who Josh assaulted. We had grown to be frieda after, but sometimes it was a bit awkward.
I told Kristina about what had happened that morning and we talked about Josh as how gross he was.
The test of the day went pretty fast. I did homework with Sarah after school like usual. And went home around nine. Carrie was already sleeping, so I made my way to my bedroom quietly. I put my headphones in and eventually drifted to sleeps All the thoughts of today were flooding through my head. But the last trying I thought about was this Friday. And I never let that thought leave my head. I thought about each of the five boys faces and what it would be like to meet them, right before I drifted into a deep sleep.
