Torn

The fire alarm went off. But it's too late. The classroom's roof caves, my class still inside.
" H-hello?" I said, as loud as I could.
" Angelica?" A raspy voice said, sounding strained. I recognized it at once.
"Harry? Oh my gosh, are you okay?" I asked, moving towards his voice.
" Yeah. You?" I didn't hear anyone else.
" I just have a small cut on my arm, but I'll be okay. There you are." Harry coughed, and I couldn't help but hug him.
"I thought I was the only one. There was no other voices. What happened?" I asked, finally letting him go, but he pulled me back.
"Maybe we're dead..." He said creepily.
"Like, we're dead, right, sure, okay. We'll go with that." I said, a wide smile on my face. He wasn't smiling. Or laughing. "you- you're serious?" I stuttered, stunned.
" No, I'm just kidding... I think."
I started laughing, and soon we were both crying.
"Should we try to get out, or should we wait?" Harry asked, his green eyes filled with worry. Yeah, he's cute, but doesn't everyone think that?
"I dunno. Do we dare? We don't want to risk dying, now do we, Haz?" I asked.
Then we heard creaking and the whole- well, what was left of the building- started creaking, and we felt a blast of sudden heat.
"Move. Now, Get down, here, under me. "
" But what if you get hurt?" I asked, worried.
" I have this beam, if it falls, it won't touch us. Okay? Now get down!" He said right before the building collapsed. He didn't get down fast enough, so I wrapped my arms around him and yanked him down.
He pulled his arms around my waist, sliding my jacket off and shoving it over our heads.
"Why do we-"
"Keeps the smoke out of our lungs. " He explained.
"I guess now we just wait. Wait- what if the fire comes here and then you get charred? Just thinking the worst case-scenario. " I said.
He pulled himself up a little. " I have bigger priorities right now." He said, coughing again.
"Oh yeah, like what?" I asked slyly.
"You."
And the building went down.
