Love Don't Cost a Thing
1
✨Harry✨
Tying my shoe lace one last time I was finally finished getting ready. I checked one last time if my supplies were in the bag, and now I was ready to go. I set my bags by the door and walked over to restroom. I took my toothbrush in one hand and the toothpaste in the other. A few seconds into brushing my teeth I here a knock on my door.
"Yes?"
"Mum said to hurry up! And seriously do. I need to get ready!" Gemma yells from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, yeah." I reply.
"Don't make me get violent with you!" She growled.
Gemma is my thirteenth year old sister. She may seem sweet an innocent woth those green-ish eyes and that warming smile, but in reality she is evil. E-V-I-L I tell ya.
"All right, All right." I said. With one last brush I rinsed of my brush and turned the faucet off.
"There. Happy now, brat?" I grinned. Knowing that calling her that and rustling her hair annoyed her, so I did it anyways.
"Hey! I'm not a brat." She huffed.
"Of course. Whatever you say."
"I'm telling mum!" She wined and stomped to the kitchen.
As I followed her I could hear my Mum moving the pots and pans around.
"Morning Mum." I walked over to her and kissed her cheek.
"Mornin' Harry. Are you ready? Don't want you to be late, now"
"Yep. I'll just finish eating, then I'll be on my way." I answered her.
"Very well. Here ya go." She placed a steaming plate of food in front of me.
"Thank you, mum."
"Why does he get more bacon?" Gemma says from aside of me.
"Because I just do." I smirked at her.
"No fair." She pouts.
"Life is full of disappointments kid."
"Whatever Harry." She rolled her eyes and angrily continues to eat her food.
Minutes later I finished and washed my plate. "Mum! I'm leaving."
"Okay sweetie. Remember Robin's going to be here for dinner, so don't be late."
"I won't!" I yelled once more. Robin is my stepdad but I refer to him as my father. He's really good to my mum and too gemma. And I'm happy that he makes mum happy.
I grabbed my keys from my pocket and turned on my electric scooter. Lame, I know, but that's the only way I get to where I have to be.
See at this moment I'm on my way to clean pools. Why? Well because I need the extra cash to buy a special engine part that I need. And the rest I work a few hours at the garage with my four best mates. Together we'll build the best car.
I turned off my scooter now that I arrived at the first house. I walked over to the backyard since the owners know me and took my backpack off. Setting it down, I began to put the pool stick together and then brought out my headphones. Plugging it into my phone I hit shuffle and immediately 'Sky Full of Stars' by Colplay started blasting through them.
I then started to clean the pool, picking up the trash and leaves that don't belong here.
Hours and hours pass pass and it's midday, I have one last house to go to and I'll be done with pool cleaning.
My stomach started turning and I started to feel anxious. I felt like I was going to be sick but in really it's just the butterflies flying around in there.
This last house belongs to Chanel Hope Anderson. And who is this you may ask? Well she's one of the populars but also an out going, beautiful girl. She is a few months younger than me. She has many friends and everyone is basically in love with her.
Right now it's only her and her father. I'm not really sure where her mum is.
As I arrived I noticed some people playing football 'soccer' out front and Ms. Kane out front getting the mail. Ms. Kane is their housekeeper. She's in her mid sixties and has a few grey hair on the root of her head. Her eyes look like a dull grey color and she has a nice warming smile.
"Good afternoon Ms. Kane." I smiled as I approached her. She turned to face me and smiled backed.
"Oh, Harry. I forgot to call you. Today the kids are having a get together and won't be needing you." She kindly said.
Although I should have accepted it, I wanted to see Chanel.
"Oh nonsense. They won't bother me." I grabbed my backpack and grinned. She looked like she was about to say something but stopped herself.
"Very well." She finally says. I nodded and made my way over to the backyard.
"Hey! There you are, we've been waiting for you!" I turned to face the captain of the football team. I pointed at me and as I did he kicked the ball over. Though it didn't come to me, but to the kid behind me. Nice Harry, you actually thought they would want to play with you.
I quickly continued to make my way and once I got there, I was pretty sure the entire popular group was here. So much for some alone time.
I began to do the same routine and stopped as soon as I heard that angelic voice.
"There you are. I've been looking all over for you." She said walking over to where her dog was.
She is so beautiful. She's wearing this laced cardigan a white tank top and a jean skirt. Her hair is down in loose curls and her makeup is done naturally. She was flawless.
Suddenly she stood up and looked over to me. She lifted her right hand and with her index finger she motioned me over to her. Her face had a smirk playing on her lips and her eyes shining brighter than the night's stars.
As I was about to reach her, I must have slipped because the next thing I knew I was under water. As I reached the top I coughed out the bit of water that was able to get in me.
The people around me began to laugh and I ducked my head more. That was until my pool stick was reached out to me. I gladly take it and was out the water, but soon I was grabbed by someone's hands. Their hands fisting my shirt.
"Next time you decide to crash the party, make sure you don't fall into the pool idiot!" Chad growled. Yep, I was dead meat.
"Let him go Chad." I heard a small voice say.
"Why? I should teach him a listen." And just when I thought I was going to get punched she saved me once more.
"Would you stop!?" She grabbed his hands and forced him to let me go.
"He's the pool boy, okay? It's his job." She said and handed me my pool stick. Ouch. Even if it's true a small part of me was wishing that she actually cared for.
"Whatever. I better not see you around here. Understood?" I nodded and began to walk away. I packed up my things and walked over to my scooted.
Damn it! You're an idiot Harry. You'll never fit in with them. Your are just a pool boy and that's all you'll ever be to them.
