Social Casualty

*Hayley* 2010

I walk into my living room and see Michael and Luke watching a movie. Luke is, no joke, sobbing. I sneak up behind them and notice that they both have buckets of ice cream and spoons. Michael starts tearing up and I suddenly can’t handle it. I fall on the floor, dying from laughter.
“You guys are such babies,” I say, crying because I’m laughing so hard.
Luke “glares” at me. I can tell he’s not actually angry, though.
“Shut up!” Mikey whines. “It’s not funny! You try watching Marley die!”
“I don’t cry at sad movies. I laugh. “Sorry, but I think it’s hilarious when someone or something dies,” I say.
“Because you have a cold heart,” Ashton laughs, walking in.
I scoff, jokingly. “Mr. Irwin, you have a cold heart. You’re so mean!”
Ashton picks me up, bridal-style. “Jeez, Hayley Marie Irwin, I was just kidding,” he says, laughing into a kiss.
I love that. I love how Ashton calls me by my full name. I love how he adds his last name instead of mine. I love how he instantly assumes we’ll be together forever. I love how he keeps me up all night, thinking about how lucky I am to have him. I love how he gives me his hoodies and clothes. I love him so much.
“I love you so much, Ashton Fletcher Irwin,” I whisper, against his lips.
“I love you even more,” he whispers.
“BREAK IT UP!” Calum shouts as he walks in, with Adelaide.
I laugh and run to Addy. Luke and Michael have stopped crying and I tell everyone what happened.
“Wait! What did we miss?” Reign shouts, running in with Amber.
I repeat the story and they end up on the floor, dying as I did.
“Ugh! Stop it!” Luke says. “I’m sorry that I actually have a heart. None of you people do!”
I just laugh at him. This is like the best thing that has ever happened to me.
“You are never going to live this down,” Reign says. She kisses Luke and he gives her a puppy dog face.
“I will do anything if you forget this ever happened. Anything,” Luke says, seriously.
“Anything?” I ask, wickedly.
He nods. I huddle with everyone else and we decide on something for him to do. Ashton is the first to get the best idea.
Reign tells Luke what he’s going to do. “Okay, so I go to Zumba every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday with Addy, Amber, and Hayley. You have to come with us tomorrow, on Saturday. You have to wear leggings and you have to do all the dances.” Luke stares at her, shocked.
“Uh, seriously? Please tell me you are kidding,” Luke pleads.
“Nope, not at all,” Amber says.
“This is gonna be amazing,” Addy says.
Luke sighs, but agrees.
“Okay, what do you guys want to do today?” Calum says.
“We should go to the mall!” I shout. The other girls immediately agree.
“Great,” all the guys groan.
“Better get your credit cards, boys,” Luke mutters.
“Already have it,” Michael groans.
“Best to keep for shopping emergencies,” Calum mumbles.
“Like this,” Ashton adds.
“Come on!” Addy groans, dragging Calum out the door. I manage to shove the rest of the guys out.
I lock the door and Amber drives us as fast as we can go. We get to the mall and drag the boys in.
“Where do we go first?” Reign asks, excitedly.
“So many stores!” Amber groans.
“Ugh. Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, Hot Topic, Rue21, Forever21, Journeys, Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister,” Addy says.
“Too many choices,” I grumble.
“Okay, Victoria’s Secret first,” Calum suddenly says, ending the discussion.
“And why does Calum want to go there?” Addy suddenly asks, smirking.
Calum smirks. “No reason.” We walk in and the boys follow us around. I walk off by myself, with Ashton following. He’s staring at his phone, probably on Twitter.
I look at a bra. I am in need of new bras. I never go bra shopping, so now is the perfect time. “Ashton,” I say. “What about this?” I ask.
“Yeah, I like it,” he says, not looking up from his phone.
“Ashton!” I shout. “I’m taking your phone!” I grab his phone and shut it off. I put it in my back pocket and make sure he pays attention.
Ashton stands behind me, pouting, but paying attention now. He follows me for about another hour before I finish and find the other girls.
They are just getting finished finding what they need and I notice that the other boys don’t have their phones either.
“Took their phones too?” I ask. Addy, Reign, and Amber nod and laugh at the guys. They all pout.
The cashier rings us up all together. “Okay, it’s gonna be $384.91,” she says. I look at the guys, who are staring at her, wide-eyed.
“Uh, I’ll take this one,” Calum says. He swipes his credit card and looks at it, dejectedly. We walk out of the store.
“Aww, is Cal Pal sad?” I ask, winking.
“Nooo! You’re so mean! Stop it!” he whines.
I laugh at him and we run towards Forever21. The boys groan but follow.

After shopping…

We walk out of the mall right before they close. I race Reign to the car and beat her. The boys trail along, lugging all of our shopping bags. Addy and Amber walk in front of the boys, whispering.
“Let’s go, slowpokes!” I yell.
Addy and Amber run towards us, as the boys continue to be weighed down by our heavy bags.
They finally get to the car and put them in the trunk. We all get in and drive to the boy’s houses. They each go in and pack some clothes. Once they are done, we drive to my house and find all the blankets and pillows in the entire house. We drag them downstairs in front of the TV.
“Sleepover!” I shout. I pick out scary movies and insert the first disk, Urban Legend. Addy and I go to the kitchen and we make big bowls of popcorn and get a Coca-Cola for everyone.
We take it back and by that time, the movie has started. I sit next to Ashton and lay my head on his shoulder. I lean into him and curl my legs up beside me.
Whenever a scary part comes, I hide my face in his chest. I hate scary movies. Why did I choose these movies? I am so stupid.
I slightly open my eyes and see the words on the screen, “Aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the light?” in blood. I bury my face in Ashton’s chest when I see it and I hear the girl’s scream.
I drift to sleep, through the horror on the screen…

Oh yeah.......also the whole thing with Magcon in 2010....just ignore that and act like they were actually in Magcon at that time......
