Catching Red Eyes

In the midst of almost sunrise, I eventually fell asleep. I woke up and found Harry missing. I sat up and heard the shower running. I got up and walked into the bathroom, avoiding eye contact with the mirror not even wanting to know what my hair looked like. The bathroom, if it was even called that, was huge. It had two sinks, a Jacuzzi tub, a shower, and the toilet was secluded off to the side with its own door. But the only thing I was focused on was the outline of Harry’s body in the shower.

With my courage, I slid back the door and Harry turned and faced me. The water was cascading down his naked torso and his hair was slicked back. The water droplets were collected on his eyelashes and all I wanted to do was touch them.

With his help, I stepped into the shower. The water was warm as it hit my sleepy skin. Harry closed the door behind me as I put my head back and let the water wash out the tangles. I felt a washcloth hit my back and turned to see Harry behind me, rubbing my back. I let him wash me all over my body as I washed my hair. We took turns washing and holding each other in the warm water. This was also a first. I had never showered with anyone before and I never felt this way for anyone before and it just so happened to be a worldwide superstar.

After our shower, I blow dried my hair and found Harry at the dining room table surrounded by the same enormous breakfast we had the other day. I laughed thinking back to how nervous I was. It felt like a million years ago.

“What’s so funny, love?”

“Just thinking back to how long ago it felt when I sat here and ate breakfast with you.”

“Yea, it does, doesn’t it?”

I smiled and nodded. We ate our breakfast and I realized it was Sunday. I had classes and my internship tomorrow. Back to reality. What was going to happen now? When was Harry leaving? Were we going to do some long distance thing? I remember Maddy telling me he was going on tour soon.

“Rowan, why have you stopped eating?”

I didn’t even realize I had stopped eating.

“Oh…just thinking about…homework I have to get done before tomorrow.” I didn’t want to tell him the whole truth because I couldn’t over analyze anything between us. I was always thinking 18 steps ahead and I needed to stop doing that when it came to my heart.

“Well, lucky for you, I have a few interviews and press releases to do with the lads in Manhattan today so you can do your homework. I can’t remember the last time I did that,” he said with a laugh.

I laughed with him and finished my plate. He was right, I did need the time to study and write some papers. This is how we would have to compromise. He would do press releases and I would write college research papers. My life was so suddenly different.

After breakfast and putting actual clothes on, Harry and I got back into the SUV and were taken to my apartment. The fans and cameras were still in the same spot and it made me jump a bit but I guess I was going to have to get used to it. My apartment looked so small compared to where I just was but it was home. I went to open the car door but Harry grabbed my hand.

“Love, I don’t think it’s the best idea for me to walk you to your door, as much as I am dying to give you a proper kiss, I don’t want to be spotted and have your flat be taken over.”
I nodded, while he pulled me in for a very long kiss. The electricity between us was felt in every nerve, hair, and vein on my body and it was torture letting go.

“Ill ring you later, love. Be safe.”

With that, the door closed and the SUV drove away. I walked up to door and let myself in, closing the door behind me but I saw that I wasn’t alone. Marc, George, Maddy, and Laurie were sitting in our very small living room.

“Ah, she is alive!!” I heard Maddy say.
