Call It a Dare

Chapter Seven

Trayne’s POV

“I know a song that gets on everybody’s nerves.” I belted at the top of my lungs.

My head rested against the side of the van. My voice was getting hoarse and the song was getting on my nerves but I figured if I was obnoxious enough they might let me go. Avril lay passed out beside me she had yet to wake up again. The roads had gotten rougher as the drive went on jostling me around. So far I had avoided bumping my head.

I wondered how the hell I had gotten into this situation. I had jumped on the exchange program for winter break. I was only supposed to be here for a week. I had saved up a lot of money to come out here.

“Shut up.” I finally heard yelled across the barrier. I stifled a laugh but just kept singing. Took them long enough. I heard a groan and saw Avril stir beside me. I gave her a smile and held my fingers to my mouth. “I know a song that gets on everybody’s nerves.” I continued. “I said shut up.” I heard yelled.

The one that had yelled at me earlier turned around. His brown eye gave me a death glare. I just returned it. I saw Avril shrink beside me. His eyes remained locked on mine as if daring me to keep his gaze. Deciding being difficult wouldn’t be in my best interests I dropped my gaze and stopped singing.

If I stated this was the first time I’d been kidnapped I would be lying. The problem was this time it was for real. With 4 older brothers they hadn’t always taken it well that I didn’t want to be a damsel in distress. They had several somewhat interesting ways that they decided to try and hold me captive. I had learned early on that the less I struggled the less they expected me to fight back.

I wished I could put my hands to my head. My head was raging. I apparently had had too much to drink at the dinner party. I didn’t even know I could get a hangover without falling asleep. I hadn’t remembered having more than 2 maybe 3 drinks. Although knowing the girls I was staying with it was probably more than that.

Avril started coughing hard again next to me. Getting kidnapped in a sleeveless dress in the middle of winter probably wasn’t the best idea. Although I wasn’t dressed much better but at least I had a coat.

The car hit a rough patch in the road as it turned and I was jostled across the van. I winced as my legs twisted at an awkward angle. Avril cried out beside me. The van continues jostling telling me we were on a road that probably wasn’t paved. The van came to a hard stop propelling the two of us into the barrier at the front of the car.

I blinked in the early morning light it had been past midnight when I had stumbled out of the party. That meant we had been driving for several hours. The dark haired man cut the bindings around my legs so I could walk. I considered kicking him while his face was close to my feet but didn’t feel like getting killed. Grabbing me out of the car the man hauled me to my feet.

I peered around trying to figure out where the heck we were. The countryside glared back at me. We were in the middle of nowhere several hours from London. Wow that’s specific. A large looming manor stood in front of me. The large stones and Victorian architecture gave it a haunting look. If the circumstances were changed I probably would have called it elegant with the ivy and the landscaping.

I was pulled down to the entrance of what appeared to be the basement. The large garage type doors were already opened into a car lover’s paradise. So they were rich.
“Liam! Niall! Leave ‘em in here for now.” I heard yelled in a thick accent Australian maybe?
The strong grip pulled me into a rather bare room. There were bars on the outside of the windows and heavy doors on either side. I was slightly relieved not so see shackles or other dungeon like things.

I heard the door slam behind us. I took stock of what was in the room which basically added up to around nine girls in various states of disarray and consciousness. I went to scratch an itch on my face to realize they hadn’t untied my hands. Cursing under my breath I scrunched up my face trying to relieve the feeling. Unable to relieve the itching sensation I turned to the other girls some were crying, some were panicking and a couple were unconscious. Not in the mood to deal with it crying and sniffling I headed to the other door.

I backed up to the door to try the door handle. It turned easily but I only opened it a crack before turning around. I peeked around the edge of the doorframe.
“Shit.” I said said when I saw what was on the other side.

Rich velvet curtains lined a stage. Poles sat off on the side. It was something out of my older brother’s bachelor party. There were only 9 chairs set up in front of the stage around small tables. I gave a deep sigh before closing the door the same way I’d opened it. What the hell were they going to do with us.
